Hey Everyone - here is an update concerning this video and the method: The 2nd Pool seems to be a bug. It also seems that the current 2nd pool method is depending on where you are located in comparison with the Terminal - Updated video will follow once this has been patched and a more stable solution is found!

Thanks, Beebs! That's a very useful video. But... now it's time to make it even better :) And for that I give you my own research data. Use it as you wish. First: never upgrade A-B-C staves with nanites. Regardless of the source multitool you'll get S-class with exactly the same stats. And those stats are shit. Just 34% bonus damage which can not be compared to top multitools which have almost 1.5 times bigger bonus. But that's not the case for staves which are S from the beginning. I've found 2 kinds of S-class staves. 1. 28-30 slots, almost 50 damage stat. (mining 10-15 and scanner 40-50 but who cares). I found a lot of those in normal systems. Almost in every terminal. 2. around 20 slots and 29 damage stat. That shitty S-class I've got from pirate system. I didn't check is there any difference between wealthy and poor systems or does any pirate system have shit staves, but if you see an S-class staff having too little slots - leave it be and switch star system. In like a hour of testing I've found around 10 different S-class staves in random terminals among 4 star systems and 2 galaxies and they all had pretty neglectible difference in stats with the worst having 49.60 dmg and the best one 49.90. In total stats of staves are pretty much the same as best sentinel multitools but staff with good stats is much easier to find if you play for the first time. Of course if you already know coords of a sentinel multitool with good stats you can get it on any new save much earlier so staves are not that useful. So how do I get S-class staves that easy? As you've said in the video, there are 2 pools of staves in each terminal. The first one is fixed. Every terminal has random set of staves(7 staves as there are 7 different heads) in it and that set never changes. Checking it makes sense(don't forget that you can only check one staff per terminal session without switching to the second pool) but chances to find an S-class are slim. And the second one is pseudo-random. Actually each terminal has several sets of staves for the second pool (I think around 10 of them). Each set is fixed. But which set you get is random. So if you just stay in the terminal session or log out and don't move - you always get the same set. This is useful if you got a staff that you like and want to change it's cosmetics or switch your current multitool for the exchange. If you want to move to the next set, you have to log out from the terminal and move away from the autophage spot(going out of their cloud of dust is enough). And then just switch to the second pool and check all 7 heads to see if any of them produces an S-class. There's a chance that you switch to the same set again(it's random). Just repeat the set switching ritual if that happened. Also since sets are fixed there's no sense to check all 7 heads if you see an already familiar sequence. How long it is gonna take to roll an S-class depends on your luck, but out of 12 terminals I've checked 11 produced an S-class within 5 to 10 minutes and 1 did not so I got bored and went to another one. Also some terminals have more than one S-class staff. (Actually the one in your video has at least 2). Stats of all staves are slightly different though the most important one which is damage fluctuates extremely slightly, most likely neglectible. Also I could not get the same staff twice no matter how long I tried, so either I'm very unlucky or maybe once you take a staff it is excluded from further rotation(though if a terminal has more than one S-class staff, it is possible to get all of them).

@@michael_janus I guess I am gonna have to look into this.. 😂 But it could be that HG will fix this - maybe it is not a bug, but I think this was not their intention. Thanks for the research tough, will come in handy! 👍

@@Beeblebum I'm pretty sure they've made several pre-generated sets of data for each terminal not for them to stay unused. So even if they "fix" something we'll just have to find how to update our methods according to the fix :)

Agree with the other comments, this video is excellent and the best I've seen on how this works! You explain it so simply. Thanks! 👍

For me, one time i got an S class in the first pool but it had 850 potencial dmg, when i tried the second pool, i got an A class with 7440 potencial dmg, so, i kept the A class 😁👍🏻.
@t0manick
@t0manick 11 месяцев назад
That's not a raw damage potential, but a total, which is influenced by the type of weapon and mods and their placement. So if you'd install the same things into both staffs, you'd likely to see higher damage on S. The only time A can be better is if it has adjacent supercharged slots when S doesn't.

“‘Oh, very well. Moving to the interesting part. Here we have the Greenskin War, as they call it. And who, my dear rival, is that in the next panel?…’ Storming through the square, meeting the greenskin onslaught, were a group of Space Marines: unusually tall and thin Space Marines, their helmets fashioned as leering skull-masks. The one in the lead appeared to be some kind of hooded Librarian, holding aloft a great lantern-headed staff that the glass orks recoiled from in horror. ‘Silver Skulls Chapter defeats the ork invasion,’ Trazyn said with clear relish. ‘There used to be a statue in the square, thirty khet high. They used to light candles and sing hymns to it. A few centuries ago the Inquisition got wind of it and did a little cleaning up. Removed it for “renovation” where it was never seen again.’ ‘You stole it, did you not?’ ‘Well, of course. And I hardly think it counts as stealing if it’s my likeness.’”

This is very good information. Thanks! I'm loving all the stuff in this new update so far and the new characters/customization stuff is fantastic. Also, that is a very nice solar ship you're using in this too!

I think this is the best vid I have seen to date on this. Great job explaining and showing what is needed to find the S Class one you want. Well done! :D

Good vid as usual, but this time I think you got something wrong. It's not a second pool of classes, there are many variables depending on where you are standing. The one you get as soon as you access the terminal, is the procedurally generated one. The second will vary every time with the same pieces depending where you standing, plus this one give you the options to take for free, only to exchange. The second pool that you name is not reliable and cannot be shards through coords, as I mentioned, it varies whith where you are standing. I've also heard the randomized one (the second one) cannot properly be seen by other players on multiplayer. This leads me to believe this is bug. You can test what I just said very easily, you can get many iterations of the same staff, just by standing in a slightly different place when accessing the terminal (the second time, after having presses assemble once).

That sure seems like a bug. Also, the changes appear related to which slot you last placed an item into rather than it being a second "pool" in general.
@Beeblebum
@Beeblebum Год назад
I thought so too.. But tbh I am ok with this mechanic. But there does not seem to be a difference which item you put last tough... I tried different order and changes, never got anything different than the first and second "Pool"
@michael_janus

That's not a bug. That "second pool" actually has several fixed sets of staff blueprints between which you can switch.

I was at Atlas but still had no heart of the sun and then flew back to my planet and crafted it but now I can't find an Atlas station anymore. in Anomaly I also don't get any stations anymore when I ask Polo. I got coordinates for black holes and for a few warps always came a new one and the Atlas mission was also back and I should fly into black holes but meanwhile no more. I still have two primary missions but my tasks are: The Anomaly / explore the new reality and New Beginnings / a new galaxy is waiting ... The universe is waiting to be explored by you. The new story mission does not start I would be very grateful if someone can help me

It's a solar ship c: they CAN be found in most regular systems, but they are most prominent in outlaw systems, where you'll find higher classes of them as well c:
