On a breezy winter day in February of 2002, in southern Alberta, a rancher was moving some cattle along a rural road when he came across a disturbing sight in the ditch.
He got off his horse to take a closer look and confirmed it was a body. An hour north - the family and friends of Adrienne McColl had no idea the heartbreaking news they were about to get- and the long road to justice they were about to embark on.

Me too, but I think it's a common thing that draws people in, for me, it's because I cannot believe that murderers don't only think about harming or murdering their victims, but the worse is that they actually go through with it. I could never ever think of hurting or taking someone's life. I think it's an egotistical person who knows they can gain their innocent victims trust, then murder them. Evil people. Same goes for innocent kids and animals. I detest bullies cos that's what they are. Very sad.

@@trudimccann5218 Human nature is not that black and white. Like you, I know I could not consciously take a life borne from a mere neurological defect or momentary misfire. But then, I put myself in the shoes of the victims family and feel the anger, pain and need for revenge. It usually passes with a healthy dose of rational thought and a break from shows like this. Which reminds me, time to seek out stories of the good things good humans do 🙂

I don't like to use the word "hate", but it all I can use relating to so-called closure. Why do people talk about closure? I simply don't understand it. Just someone dying unexpectedly is bad enough, but to have someone close die violently - there can never be closure. Answer, convictions, prison terms, etc, but never closure.

2002- Alberta - A body was found on a desolate gravel area the victim was identified as 21 year old Adrianne McCall. Police intervened John McGee the step father of the victim and her employer. Police worked tirelessly to catch the killer of Adrianne McCall who was found strangled and murdered and the police also wanted to questioned her boyfriend Stephanne Payrant but he had left Calgary and the case went cold for many years. In 2013 that is eleven years since the murder police took a fresh look at the murder and police still had not been able to interview Stephanne Parent. Now 16 years had passed since Adrianne’s murder. THE MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT THIS CASE IS THE MAIN PRIME SUSPECT WAS NOT QUESTIONED BY THE POLICE FOR MORE THAN ELEVEN YEARS ? The father of the victim was also an employee of the RMCP and yet the suspect escaped justice for 16 years.

Isn’t it interesting that prosecutor Shane Parker stated that you have to have evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to convict someone for murder. Well in our son’s, Craig’s, murder there was sufficient evidence beyond a reasonable doubt for second degree murder but the prosecution botched it royally that it went to manslaughter. Manslaughter, Craig was butchered by the murderer using 3 knives (10 inch) breaking 2 blades off in his back and the 3rd in his abdomen, bent like a banana. Such a miscarriage of Justice. That murderer served 2 years 3 months in Prison for his brutality on my son. 😡

@dallynutkat3252
@dallynutkat3252 3 месяца назад
I understand that in many cases this is an issue and you are obviously a caring person which is why this upset you. However, she was 21 and chose to go live with her stepfather. Perhaps she couldn't afford to live alone. Perhaps her mother was in another relationship and Adrienne didn't like the guy. Perhaps her stepdad was as close as a father to her so would naturally help her out when she needed a place to stay, especially when her father was posted overseas. Perhaps the end of the stepfather and mother's relationship was amicable and it was a relief to the mother that her daughter had a safe place to stay with someone who loved her. Her mother may have had her own issues and couldn't support her as she needed. Besides, her mother couldn't stop her from living there as she was an adult. All I'm saying is we don't really know so let's not be too quick to judge. It's good that you care so much though. I just think sometimes when we watch true crime we paint everyone with the same brush, which is understandable as we see certain patterns happening time and again. I'm just glad she was so loved in her short life and am sad she's gone as I think she would have made a difference in this world. Anyway, that's just my 5 cents worth as a Canadian who wishes these things didn't happen and who wishes our justice system was a lot better.

Sooooooo at 35 minutes in ..then why didnt the sister call police immediatly in 2002 right after his conflicting stories ??.? Would that not be considered withholding evidence?

Respect for the sister who told the truth. Too often we see the familes and friends of the criminals who think that loving someone means covering up for their crimes. But then, there are also those who understand that loving someone does not equate enabling them to conceal their crimes, disrespecting the victims and denigrating the suffering of the victim's loved ones. Sometimes, to love means to be tough and put the one you love in a place where they cannot hurt others. Tough love is sometimes the only way, and this woman knows it.

My mind went to how many people explain how when they have had near death experiences they survive the body and the spirit hovers over and watches themselves until they leave this world whether its hovering over their body in an operating room or a car crash or suicide attempt and a situation like this and some just cannot leave and go into the light to the other side and find peace while their murderer runs loose/
