How lovely is your Mum?! Do thank her for sharing this recipe with us all. I so enjoyed seeing you cook together, and here in cold and windy Kent it's just magic to see you both drinking chai in the warm sun. Have a lovely day together.
Chetna, I am a non Indian married to an Indian man. I wasn’t really « accepted » as a wife but my in-laws make do… I’ve been following you for a while now and I love this kind of videos. They are a deep dive into Indian culture for me which my mother in law never talks about, never shares recipes, never pass any traditions… even to her grands kids… so I am really grateful for all your content, you’re a bit the sister in law I will never have 😂 I learned to cook from your videos and books and I even prepared chapatti dough for dinner! Thank you 🙏🏼 for all your content making me feel the Indian culture, love it.
Clearly, love and skills of cooking did not skip a generation in your family! How wonderful that your mother is still going strong! Your snacks look absolutely delicious!
Chetna, it was such a delight to be with you in your mum’s kitchen. I think this is one of my favorite cooking videos ever. Love the laid back vibe and the realness of cooking with mum. Thank you for sharing with us. ❤️
I really enjoyed seeing your Mum’s kitchen and garden and how you spend your afternoon together. So relaxing and similar in essence to afternoon’s I spend with my Mum in West Cork Ireland. Barry’s tea rather than chai ;). Enjoy your time at home.
That’s the best part of visiting our hometown in India where we are not only pampered at our mom’s place but wherever we go and even the neighbors. It’s party everyday till the time we leave for the airport. Enjoy Chetna.
I absolutely loved loved loved watching you and your mum in the kitchen. I bet you are being totally spoilt with all the delicious food. Yum yum yum 💕💕💕
I wish I was a neighbor stopping in for tea right now😋 everything looks so good, I will look up the chai recipe. What a lovely garden with all the red pots❤
Loved the garden. Lots of Asian families where I live have gardens like that. They've really inspired me. Love walking around in spring and summer and seeing what's popping up in the pots 😊
This is the most lovely cooking video I have seen in a long time!! I LOVE your mum's kitchen, it's similar to mine....and the garden, so joyful....Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you, the crispy lentils are my favourite part of the of Bombay Mix, also a Spicy Chai is also my cuppa of choice so away to watch that video next.
I am from Pakistan and love the simplicity of your mum’s house. When I visit Pakistan I can’t find old roots. I wish me and my mum enjoy the same moment. Long live your mum to company you always like this.
I wish I had that bowl of that crispy Dal right now! So wonderful to see you with your mum, and all the amazing food your family friends have been bringing by! Enjoy your time at home with family!
Hi Chetna’s and Chetna’s Mum. I loved meeting your Mum and seeing her cook in her space with her tools. I am a newly diagnosed diabetic and have bought your vegetarian cookbook. I will try this lentil snack and chai tea. Learning to cook new foods with new traditions has given me positive challenges as I adapt to new eating habits. Thank you both.
@ChristineS ... having also just had that diagnosis, OK, it's a downer, but I'm so impressed with your positivity. Like you, I'm adapting my diet (goodbye, exotic breads!) but I hope majoring on complex carbs like chickpeas and lentils, in small portions, will help me back below the magic '48'. Best of luck with your regime!
Thank you Humboles, my blood sugar levels have dropped by half in the first three months. I have been discovering how to cook beans and chick peas and vegetables with new flavours that I previously only enjoyed in restaurants. They are key to sustaining my progress and finding some joy as leave behind my beloved sweet tooth.
Excellent demonstration regarding the preparation of Indian Snacks. The BEST of Indian woman sharing her products to eat healthy food for her families friends neighbors and the WORLD.
