I think the point of this scene was a line between comedy and drama. Christina is the type of character that is confident in control and strong and she's having this breakdown against her will and she's still has to be in control because nobody really knew what to do. That's what made this scene so funny and great acting,
Why does everyone think this is so hilarious? I mean yes, it's kind of funny. But she's crying because everything that happened finally hit her. She lost a baby!
The humour is derived from the fact that Cristina is trying to be her usual cool self and she can’t do it bc her logic is being overridden by biology and her friends are completely dumbfounded that the ‘robot’ has collapsed in floods of tears, so Cristina is reacting primarily while fighting it off
I have seen this scene sooo many times before but totally related to it this time. That breakdown! No one can make it look so darn funny.. I love Cristinaaaa!
Meredith: I can see that, what did you guys do to her? ... George: Chrsitina! do you want some water? I know it shouldn't of done but, this did make me lol :P
If you actually watched the show you would know that she was going to terminate the pregnancy anyways. She's just not use to showing emotion, it's hilarious.
@@nataliereyes6055 it's really not. She just can't stop crying because of the hormones. You obviously didn't watch the show otherwise you'd know this scene is jokes
While some found this depressing scene funny, I actually was serious as a heart attack the first time I saw this---and I've always become a little teary-eyed every time I watch it....The main reason being that I went through something similar to Cristina's medical crisis with an uncaring/insensitive man as well. This scene brings back those painful memories. And the only momentary-shred of DARK, VERY DARK humor in her screaming---was she will KILL HER [equally cold & insensitive] MOTHER if her friends didn't get Mom the Hell outta there stat (which was exactly how the 💩💩💩 I felt about MY equally cold & insensitive a-hole Boyfriend at the time I had to have MY surgery decades ago)....😡😡 The great thing about this painful period in my Life is that eventually, Karma came full-circle on my Ex's a$$ to where he ended up living a Hellish existence years down the road with his own health. In fictional Cristina's case, at least Burke came in with flowers & consoled her once he realized what happened to her, and saw how traumatized she was from the entire ordeal that he totally contributed to!
@wintersprings22 It was a mixture of the ectopic pregnancy itself (painful), the shock of what happened, and the different hormones coursing through her body at that time.
I understand the crying. The moment I heard someone say they believed my years of turmoil when nobody else did, I cried in relief... then I couldn't stop for the life of me. After 30 more minutes of crying, someone picked up their phone and said, "call in the cavalry." My adopted family drove over 2 hours and listened as I ranted 2 decades worth of abuse and neglect from my biological family. It took 3 hours for my tears to finally stop, so I'm guessing, without watching this show, Cristina held back her true feelings for years to cry this long.
This is so painful for those people who had miscarriage/s and I don't why other people thinks it's hilarious. Sandra Oh is funny herself but this scene just hits home.
