Welcome to RU-vid! There's always room for one more crochet channel, and so long as there is no judgement here, we'll get along just fine. In the 38 years that I've been crocheting, I've faced a lot of discrimination from all sides, to the point where I will never set foot in a yarn store again, it was that bad. I've always lamented that there are no good patterns out there for men, so I'm excited to get started here. I wish you success.

This is exactly how my Grams taught me. Look at clothes. Use them as a template. I wish more people would use body measurements and know how to adjust. This makes me so happy. I have no need to make a men's sweater but I want to see how you go about things. I've been crocheting off and on since I was maybe 8. But really dove back in about 12 years ago after a brain injury. It's my therapy and passion. I am so happy you picked it up.

I’m looking forward to learning your process! I tried making a sweater for myself a few years ago but was really unhappy with the result and frogged it. You are right that there are not many patterns out there for *attractive* sweaters for men. I’ve also found there aren’t a lot of patterns that work for big guys like me-a lot of patterns seem to stop at large or 1x, and some of us need a 2x or 3x. I have enjoyed your videos so far and I’m excited to see what we learn!

My boyfriend is a clothes horse with amazing style. I never would have even thought about making him a sweater. But I am excited about learning new ways of doing things. So I am going to follow your process and try to turn my talent into a beautiful work of art he will be happy to wear outside.

Sweaters are why I learned to knit. I have crocheted my whole life but wasn't happy with sweaters it produced. As a woman, I will tell you now, I will be making it for me, ha ha. My shoulders are very wide and I often wear mens tshirts and sweaters are very universal, for my build! Welcome to the community!

You are so right about no good sweater patterns for men. I bought a vintage pattern, but the yarn was discontinued so long ago I could not find any info. I wound up making a pattern - it’s a lot of work! Looking forward to your videos.

I believe I could learn many things from you, so I subscribed. I have crocheted blankets, hats, scarves, amigurumi, purses, belts, pot holders, towels, and wash cloths. I have always wanted to make me a cardigan, but have been nervous and unsure of my abilities on that, but maybe you can change that for me. I have been crocheting since I was 18 in 1979; however, I lost my dad to cancer in 1999 while crocheting him a blanket, I sat my hook down and did not pick it up again until 2021. Learning to love it all over again. This time I want to go beyond just making toys and blankets. Lead on my friend, lead on. Creative grandma sent me also. She was impressed by you, and I now see why.
