Hey Chad.... I've been a vegetarian since I was 20 years old. I'm 57 now, and have been vegan for the past 6 years or so.... and I feel great. I can actually out sprint every 20 something young man I know! And until my 18 year old son started doing the same HIIT training that I was doing, he couldn't keep up.... and he's in excellent shape.
Been vegan for 13 years now. I've been a weightlifter for three decades, and I know my "numbers" forward and backward--exactly how many reps at how much weight for each exercise I do. I can't say that going vegan improved my numbers, but they didn't suffer, either. From personal experience I would say there is no penalty for making the switch.
Actually, the truth is, that if your remaining in a alkaline state and keeping your gut health good with the right bacteria, your body is capable of producing B12. It is made in micro amounts which is all your body needs anyhow.
Did you finish the video? We answer that objection. We interviewed a 100 year old that was plant based for 50 years and did heart surgery till he was 95. He was mowing his lawn at 100. It clearly is sustainable.
@@HealthAndHomestead One man? Good for him. There are lots of other people that got sick and had their mental illnesses exacerbated. Plant protein is utilized by the body at a way lower rate than animal proteins, and lots of times with deficiencies in certain amino acids. Plant based diets are unnecessary, and can be detrimental due to excessive anti nutrient intake. You can make up lots of nutrients with animal products, that is much harder with plant only. Is the PBD a SDA teaching, or just something that runs in common?
@@cascadianapplications7124 not one man, come on, for millenias India was primarily plant based, before the modern world western diets were introduced. And they lived long lives with health. I have many friends that eat plant based diets, and they are healthy.
@@henriklarsson5221Crops were more nutrient dense then. They arent now. It's simply foolish, the amount in calories you would need to take in to offset the low protein absorption rate is astronomical. Its pants on head retarded for weight lifters. Animal based products are better, and very satiating. Define healthy?
@@cascadianapplications7124 So the last 10 years of my life has been a lie ? Healthy = having energy to live your life actively, not being sick. Happiness often comes along with that, but it is not a given thing, depending on your mental/spiritual state. I have lived both lives, for me, the plant based diet works much better. Now, in the end we can only be sure what works on ourselves. And saying "crops were more nutrient dense then" is a bold claim, sure GMO plants that are heavily sprayed for pests etc, but organic plants not so. And have there been studies done to compare it ? Impossible, because we have no foods from that time anymore and they did not do nutrient studies back then.
