I wouldn't even before seeing this, 12.34 min was crazy though all them trying to get him out of a toilet and there is a portable toilet in the background
i cant believe the last story, they were told to let it cool overnight and they just went "nah, im sure just 2 hours of being blasted by fans will do the trick", that company should have been shut down instantly for that, that story just makes me mad
@@Aeimos That's 24 hour a day factory work for you. Every minute is money and a loss of 13k, along with the potential loss of a contract because you can't fulfill orders is pressure that makes you not care about workers so much... Sad.
I don't think you can. As a counter point though, the human brain is incredible..it can go into a catatonic state where it literally only experiences half of the pain or trauma that would be experienced otherwise.
The owners of the bakery company should have been charged with manslaughter or better yet, been forced to crawl through the hot oven for 17 minutes. This is extreme criminal negligence. Best Wishes to David’s loved ones ❤
The story at #1 is an example why i quit working in a factory. Its always profit over lifes. If there's a safety audit, just put up band aids to get a pass then immediately go back to the unsafe "quicker" way.
Corpos gonna corpo, sad as it is. Unless their pocketbook is affected, they couldn’t care less about the well-being of their rank-and-file blue collar employees. 😒
every factory I worked at, safety depends on the workers, I take my time doing my job safely while others are always in a rush to get to work and they get injuries that basically get them laid off of work for a while.
I went to college to become a baker and worked in bakeries for a few years and man, getting baked alive is one of my biggest fears LOL I've been burned getting out bread and cakes plenty of times but imagining my entire body going through with no way out..gives me the shivers. Thanks for the great content as always!
You went to college to become baker?! Seriously paid for a education to learn to bake? You must be talking about a 9 month course at a technical school or something 😂
That’s something you’d learn on the job in the same amount of time while being paid, instead of paying to learn to bake a cake in college, then you get a job at the same place and make 50 cents more good job!😂 that’s got to be the silliest thing I’ve heard
@@billlee1724 I did. It was a 2 year degree and the most fun I had in my entire life I think. Jokes on me I guess because I used it and only worked in kitchens for about 5 years before I decided a desk job was more my thing and got into medical billing instead 🤣🤦
@@billlee1724 I learned a lot more than baking. Working for some random bakery won't teach me the more fun stuff like working with fondant or making sculptures out of sugar. I even learned to work with chocolate and made my own candy bar so I mean, to each their own? I enjoyed every second of school and don't regret it. Was much more fun and I get paid the exact amount now as some of my friends who went to school to be teachers so 🤷♀️🤷♀️ if there wasn't a demand, there wouldnt be college course for it. Can't go to Walmart and get a 3 tier custom fondant cake so I mean...someone's gotta do it 😉
24/7 public bathrooms seems more practical, who cares if some junkies occasionally o.d in the bathroom? it's better than people accidently getting crushed by a retractable hidden toilet...
I don’t know why the one with Esther hit me especially hard. Imagine you’re at picnic with your wife and then in the blink of an eye you’re mentally scarred for life.
@@lachutequimarche8074 I'm guessing no one complained prior to the accident. I have a similar accident but obviously very tame compared to Esther. It was storming and luckily it happened right in front of me and not on me.
The last story left me speechless; and that's pretty unusual for me. The two men who went through the oven was incredibly horrifying and SAD! The employee who was initially set against helping to fix the oven should have listened to his gut instincts. Always listen to that inner voice!
Those oven deaths were featured in a uk program in the 90s called 999. They played the last words of the walkie talkie recording and it was genuinely harrowing and has stuck with me for years. I was a teen when it was aired. Am 40 now and it still haunts me. Those poor men. Bless them.😢
23 years ago, my dad was in Phoenix Arizona sitting on a park bench with an older man. They were both waiting for their wives surgery to end . Dad got up , took 10 steps and heard a shot , he turned around and the man he was sitting with was dead by a drive by shot. The poor lady came out of surgery to hear her husband had died.
The oven story is particularly disturbing because it could so easily have been avoided. I don't know if 600K is a fine or compensation for the victims' families, but in the latter case, I find the amount ridiculously low. The other story that puzzles me is the one with the telescopic urinals. These urinals are an aberration from a safety standpoint. If someone were to propose telescopic urinals in any North American city, he'd be laughed out of the room.
Huh. I think telescopic urinals are a great idea! Maybe find a safer way to go about maintaining them, though. Then again, I guess drunks could fall into them pretty easily. 🤔But drunks fall into everything pretty easily...
the story of Kevin happened just in front of my workplace (the spice of life) and it was really horrific... I think about it almost everyday when I pass by there. May he rest in peace... condolences to his relatives...
Imagine nobody making a plan ahead of time about how to: 1. Do an emergency stop. 2. Do and emergency rescue. 3. Checking the internal temperature before letting anyone enter. The whole thing was a tragic cluster-f*#k! 😢😠
I have been on RU-vid years and years and years, seen many channels with similar content but EVERYONE HAS THE SAME TRAGEDIES, I have never seen so many new cases. I’m baffled and impressed!!!!!!
The decapitated newlywed Human Rights Advocate was incredibly horrific and heartbreaking. She had a beautiful smile and she was supposed to be experiencing a wonderful new beginning and then that. I can't imagine what the husband felt, but I would rather it happen to me than to watch the woman I love torn apart. Unbelievably tragic.
@Shade For Days They look so unassuming, too-but when you think about it, even a puny metal gate or sign will be turned into a scythe flying through the air in wind conditions that are strong enough, unless properly secured every time. Just makes it sadder, since you’d presume the wind conditions on the site must have a recorded history of reaching very high speeds, so it wasn’t an unforeseeable concern like trying to prevent being struck by a meteorite.
@Samuel Riemer well for starters, i believe you'd go through similar experiences that he did, thats just off the top of my head of course. (Ba da chuh)
I had a severe fear of ovens and being baked alive when I was little. It was bad enough I wasn't able to operate an oven until I was in my late teens. That last story gave me the shivers, I will never ever work somewhere with an oven big enough for me to fit inside! You couldn't pay me enough!
I've once worked for a company that did clean ups at factories during maintenance shut downs. Once we were at a factory with huge ovens for vulcanising rubber. These things were big enough to park a van inside. They'd been shut down a few days previous, but were still warm inside, we had the doors wide open while working, but we'd come out every few minutes because of the heat and we worked in pairs spraying some chemical crap onto the wall to blast off the gunk that had built up since the last cleaning. Some of the other workers were immature jerks and thought it was funny to lock the two guys in to the oven next to the one we were in. I don't know how long they were banging for, cos we only heard them when we stepped out of our oven and turned off the power hoses we were using. They were almost passed out from the heat, and they were red and sweating. If we hadn't heard them, they would have probably passed out and not been noticed until it was too late. The jerks who locked them in didn't get fired, cos they were friends with the boss, and the people who actually saw them do it didn't want to give evidence against them, even though they'd told me they'd seen it when I asked who locked the door (they can only be closed from the outside. ) I left not long after that. They weren't a good employer, they didn't pay well, and saw everyone as replaceable, so I wasn't going to risk my safety by relying on people like that when dealing with industrial hazards. I remember my last job they had me clean out a huge pool of industrial sludge, by myself, with nobody to monitor in case I slipped and sank in the stuff, which was at least 4 feet deep in one end of the tank. They wanted it done in a day, which was unrealistic, and knowing it was my last day, I stayed up at the shallow end and cleaned that section very well, and made no apologies to the supervisor when he asked about the deep end. "You'll need two people, and safety ropes for someone to tackle that" then walked off.
@@jimbobeire if i was the one of the people locked in i would've beat the everliving shit out of the two dickheads and told the boss right where he can shove his friendship
This is my favorite series on your channel, it reminds me of 1000 ways to die but you present these bizarre deaths much more respectful. It teaches us to be thankful and appreciate life and what we have right now because we never know when our end will come. The last story truly touched me and I do not think the bakery managers were punished enough. As much as I hate for those workers to lose their job, if the bakery continued who knows when their greed would've next killed another person. It's better to lose your job than to lose your life.
You put it perfectly! Totally like 1000 Ways to Die but with actual respect and acknowledgment that these were human beings. He’s also just a great narrator.
I like this format. Fewer stories but more details. Getting decapitated by a swinging gate and crushed by a urinal is definitely going on my list of anxieties now. Lol
i live near where number 2 happened, and it makes life seem more “real”. seemingly random things can be deadly. you need to always be on the lookout for danger to keep yourself alive. and even then, that’s not always possible number 1 is just horrible. companies using money to blackmail people into carrying out life threatening procedures is disgusting
I was in a bus passing through the area for story number 2 just after1.30. The road was closed with ambulance, police cars and emergency responder filled the street. At first people though there was some kind of accident or crime, until someone mentioned that the urinal trapped an engineer inside. It was such a sad scene, it is still affecting me everytime I pass the area. What disgust me is how some people made a joke out of his situation. Literally just after the news was released of his death idiots already made jokes of it.
Well yeah, dying on/in a toilet sounds genuinely silly. Of all places...! And these, sensibly and obviously, do seem dangerous because do you really want drunks trying to deal with it? It's a machine, it won't care if you're midway in as shown. I live here and I've never heard of these despite being a decade older. I can see why. Give me crappy public toilet any day.
All of these stories are very sad. The last one, I’ve seen before and it still chills me to the bone, knowing how badly both men suffered so terribly horrific! I can’t believe David’s parents didn’t get that much money. I know back then it may have seemed a lot, no amount of money will ever bring David back, but the company should’ve paid for all of his funeral expenses and left the parents enough money so they could pass it down to his family. I was hoping they’d not suffer, but tragically they did. So heartbreaking.
Appreciate this series and channel. I like how you talk about the victims and families with care and respect and not like a joke or morbid obsession. It's also very insightful
I think this is the first video ever where I caught it seconds after it was uploaded. Can’t imagine dying at a cemetery like that Definitely heard about the gate incident. Very tragic
There was a man not far from where I grew up that was impaled inside his car by a gate just like that. I think of that almost every time I go by where it happened
all this stories were horrifically terrifying. the ones with esther and david hit especially hard. my God, some people experience some truly horrifying ways to go out
The last one is especially terrible. The amount of greed put forward before their safety is insane. And just as bad was the oversight of not even bothering to check the inside temperature before going in. Whoever was in charge of ensuring those people did not get hurt failed in every way. Seems they didn't think about the consequences of what would happen if it went awry. I can't imagine the hell they went through.
Its always profit before safety. So if you work in a dangerous industry, you have to put your own safety first and refuse to do anything that is not your job. If you have an accident and survive they will still blame you because you shouldnt have done something that wasnt your job. I read a case lately, cant remember where, a manager ordered his employees to clean out a tanker of animal waste, but they werent given the correct protective equipment ie gas mask. They went in and passed out from the noxious fumes, and drowned in the slop. Two lives gone, they should have just refused. At least the manager went to jail for manslaughter by gross negligence
The last story reminds me of something I personally witnessed. I worked at a warehouse where I knew an old who was just a simply worker like I was. He was pushing past 70 and everyday he was visibly struggling and in pain, being expected to carry heavy boxes and keep up quotas. I asked him why cant just quit and maybe use retirement, but he just said he made mistakes in life so he doesnt have retirement money and this is the only job that had hired him. With context out of the way, one day we were working. Of course he was put on a job where he had to lift heavy boxes off of a conveyer belt within expected time limits. I heard a loud crash and yelling about halfways across the warehouse and was one of the first in the crowd that gathered to see what happened. His arm was rolled underneath the heavy box and twisted into the conveyer. Im guessing he was rushing himself and snaked his fingers underneath the box for a grip but was caught between the conveyer rings. Two fingers were bent backwards and his was pulled through up to his shoulder, it had broken in half with the box, applying so much pressure. Work was called off early that day but I never saw him again. He was nice guy and I still blame that company and quotas for him getting hurt.
That last case was just tragic and so easily avoidable.. I like both the 10's list and the 5's list - I just love all the content on this channel, whatever form it's in. Thanks for another great one, Ryan!
I work as a mechanical engineer at a food processing equipment manufacturer. I design that type of oven. That whole plan was absurdly reckless, and the result was heartbreaking yet completely expected.
Ludo I’m so truly sorry for the loss of your beautiful wife and best friend my heart goes out to you and her family. I can’t imagine what you’re going through . Truly a heartbreaking loss for the whole world, she was a inspiration to many.
somehow, out of all the stories in there, this one hit me the most. Completely out of nowhere. I can't even imagine how horrible that must be to witness
Very soothing voice. Music isn't too loud or obtrusive. I really enjoyed the more in depth stories, you really feel for the victims and their families. If death says its your time, you can't argue. I just hope I never end up as one of these stories. Lol.
You will grow lots very quickly. I've been getting lots of your vids popping up in my recommendations so RU-vid is finally giving you the exposure you deserve
I've had a morbid curiosity about unusual deaths for a while now and out of all the stories I've heard, the first one you told is the closest to the area I live. As someone who has lived here my whole life, I can confirm that snow does fall quite often in winter and the weather can be rather unpredictable, so the idea that the melted snow dislodged the gravestone makes sense. I’ve only ever seen this incident talked about on the Wikipedia page listing strange deaths, and it does seem like a painful way to go since gravestones are extremely heavy (although hopefully for Stephen it was quick and painless). May all victims rest in peace.
For the last story, that's what the company gets. It's a proper lesson to be taught about what happens when you're too stingy. In an effort to save a measly 13,000 pounds which I'm sure was POCKET CHANGE for a company as large as them, they lost the ENTIRE company.
Cutting corners to save 13,000 pounds cost them the entire company. Many examples like this. Boeing cut corners on the 737 Max for profit and it cost them FAR more than doing it right would have.
5 or 10, you can't lose with this topic! These are my absolute favorite and, with the upmost respect for the ones who lost their lives, the darker the better!! Can't wait for the next video!!
I live in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and knew both Stephen and Lucy Woytack. We were horrified when we heard what happened that day. They were such a sweet couple. She was never the same after he died.
In all of my 46 years of life, I have never seen a toilet or urinal that telescopes like that! I am from the United States, a few hrs outside of Chicago. Sadly enough, I've never had the opportunity or the extra financial resources to ever be outside of the U.S. 😥 I can't even begin to accurately express just how much I'd love and cherish an opportunity to visit (almost) anywhere outside of the United States!! 🤣 💯
Genuinely unbelievable how the first one in this video is literally my hometown. I used to look for a geocache around there when I was younger. I'm 23 now. I'm also curious to see if the stone is still destroyed and pay my respects
i can't believe two men died for a paltry $13000 in the last one. less once you take into account the bonuses, the money spent on hiring the engineers and renting fans, etc. and ofc it's the lowest men on the totem pole that got sent in. the fucking greed...
Number 1 was the most horrible case because he didn't want to go in, he was pressured into going and anyone watching this has been through this kind of situation before, your boss offers a bonus when he's nice, or to fire you when he's an ass, but either way any of us would be susceptible to that. May all these people R.I.P.
I only ever heard of one of these stories, great job! Almost all of them sound like something out of Final Destination. Videos like these are starting to convince me that maintenance workers have the most dangerous jobs.
I'm absolutely gobsmacked.. especially at the penultimate one! I'm from Manchester and I've never heard of telescopic urinals! Wtaf! Good forbid they have an actual building that ya know, could be used by homeless to wash and receive comfort breaks if needed! I fkn hate this country. As for the poor gentleman that watched his wife have her head cut off on front of him... Jesus fkn christ man.. wow. I'm not surprised he had PTSD.. I'd be gone me. Fk that. To finish, I used to work at a chemical plant and we had to put filter socks on what's basically a industrial tumble drier, by getting in them. And ppl don't realise how quickly a seemingly small amount of heat can fk you up VERY quickly. RIP to all the souls lost.
I like both the 5 and 10 lists but do prefer more (within reason) detail. I appreciate how you are always as kind and respectful you are to the victims and loved ones. Having lost many loved ones, some to horrifying circumstances, I always wonder how the family would feel hearing some of the more exploitative videos and you always approach these things with such grace.
For the cemetary one you would think they would regulate them better. I cant understand why the grave stones wouldn't be anchored in the ground. I work in construction and they wouldn't even let me put a stone like that in someones backyard without anchoring first so it didnt fall on someone.
The urinal one was terrible! I’d never even heard of such a thing as a telescopic urinal. It seems like a lot of machinery just to avoid providing closed stalls that stay in one place. As a woman, I can’t imagine just taking a piss while other people watch in public, let alone the government allocating so much money for Star Trek urinals to pop up out of the street. Are bathrooms really that rare in the UK?
It's not that bathrooms are rare, it's just buildings and shops are closed at night. Instead of guys pissing on the floor in an ally at night, they can use those urinals, but they don't want those urinals to be available during the day because it's not a pretty view in broad daylight. Although, it's surprising they didn't see the risks involved with making the urinals that way. I think it would be better just to have one on a wall that opens up at night and closes during the day. Instead of one that goes up and down. Or just flat out have outhouses so not only is it more private and women can use it too. But I guess something like that would look less futuristic.
They've been closing public conveniences for a while now, either putting them in shopping centres (usually with metal roller doors that close a few hours after the shops do) or in shops, and the ones that are still around are often closed overnight. Ostensibly, it's to deter vandalism and/or save money, but the knock-on effect is that a lot of public lavatories are in cafes which often require you to make a purchase before you can use them and are closed after about 6pm. That means that homeless people have nowhere to use the bathroom or to clean themselves, and people with disabilities or stomach or bowel disorders who get caught at short notice have real difficulty in finding somewhere to go.
@@PaKalsha Do they charge for the public restrooms too? I went on a European tour some years ago and went to a few different countries, but I remembered that one of them required paying 1 Euro to the W/C attendant before entering. 🤔 Still terrible for the people you listed.
May All Those People Rest In Peace ✝️. My Sympathies Go Out To All Friends , Families And Loved Ones To The Lives Those People Lost. Keep Up The Amazing Content! :)
Most of them were unlucky The last story though!? I cant even imagine anybody telling me that I must get into a hot oven just because some fans have been turned on for a little bit! 😳🤯
My condolences to all the relatives. This collection is amazingly accurate by providing the names, dates, places, maps, and even accurate photograpy of the real events. This is so much better than other made up youtube videos that lack all of these details and are believed by so many to be true.
I'm from Bristol , I've never seen a telescopic urinal until now , where I work there is a street cleaning machine that I use , called a Tenant M20 and when you clean out the machine the back half ( which is hydraulically controlled ) lifts up , there is a safety bar you use to secure it , because it you are under it and the hydraulics fail it pretty much will cut you in half , so I would presume that if the hydraulics failed on one of the urinals that it would simply come crashing down .
Yeah I was wondering about that too. Either there isn't any safety bar, which in my mind seems almost impossible in modern machinery, ot he didn't use it because he was in a hurry. 🤔
I visit Bristol often, and I’m glad I’ve never seen one of those about there, total accident-waiting-to-happen material. Thank god I’m a woman I guess lmao
Yeah, those urinals look terrifying. Anything that's this big and heavy powered by hydraulics just reminds me a bit of the elevator scene in Final Destination 2.
Literally my favourite videos on RU-vid. Is that bad? Please keep them going! It must be difficult to find original material, but you would have thought, chances are, people almost certainly die in odd ways daily. I think there's a morbid fascination with this kinda content, like those gore subreddits, reminding us of our own mortality and how much we take life for granted. Looking forward to the next video, if only to remind myself to make the most of this temporary blip that we call "life".
that poor man on honeymoon with his new wife and love and to experience that. i dont think i would ever recover. the bread one reminds me of a family friend who was sent into a large vat in the wool processing works to fix an issue rather than call in an engineer. he fixed the issue but on his way out something went wrong and he was fatally doused in boiling hot water. my poor uncle was there when it happened and he quit all factory work after that. these days we would have diagnosed him with ptsd, but back then he just became a cleaner and got on with it.
Love the work put into these vids. It really does remind one WHY it is so important to take care of each other; whether a stranger or friend be kind, humble, helpful, and respectful. ❤
I always appreciate the amount of care and respect for the victims and their loved ones that you show when making these videos. Morbid curiosity doesn’t have to be taboo or stigmatized when done properly ❤
Wow i have definitely never heard this story, looking forward to watching now :D thanks for putting out unique content, there are so many copy cats putting out the same things as each other on youtube these days, your efforts and talent are appreciated ♡
as a Canadian, the public urinal confuses the heck out of me! 😂 Does it just come out of the ground, you pee in it, and it goes back down? so you pee in front of everybody?😂
These were seriously some of the most interesting deaths I’ve ever heard. Great job with the video. I’m going to be retelling these to my friends and coworkers since we’re always sharing interesting stories like this that we’ve heard. I know they haven’t heard of these before. My heart goes out to all those who died and their families.
Last story is a good time contextually to remind everyone that no corporation truly cares for your well-being whether you’re working for them or buying from them, and they will all gladly snap your spine over their knee for an extra nickel.
Both the 5 & 10 are both great. the longer the better though. Really like the way you present the content. Great voice & accent & feel like you convey a genuine care, concern & compassion for the unfortunate folks in your videos. Glad I came across your channel as it quickly became a favourite but I've almost watched them all now so excitedly wait for your new content. Keep up the awesome work & thank you for making it awesome.
Hearing how Esther died reminded me of that video of a brick flying through the windshield of a car in Russia and killed a woman in the passenger seat with her husband right next to her in the driver's side. I will never forget the sound of that man wailing. Truly chilling.
The oven scenario is one that has stuck with me. Having been a death investigator myself I've seen some nightmarish stuff. That would be one scene I would not get over. So tragic and avoidable.
@@2ndTooth If they're like our local ones, they usually come out around 12-1am - not sure what kids are out around then - and when they're occupied, you can't see more than the guy's back; my female friends' main complaint about them was that they couldn't use them.
Trying to wrap my head around the park gate, the wind and the decapitating of her head story is so hard to comprehend. The physics of this happening don’t even seem to make sense… would the gate not have smacked the side of the car on a side angle first? Or did the entire gate snap off with the wind, somehow fly through the car window and decapitate her?
Given that it was said to come in "through the window" my assumption was that they happened to time it perfectly so that as it was swinging in the wind the end of the gate hit the window, smashed through, and then kept swinging backward to strike the passenger.
"20 minute video" pshhh more like 2 minutes! The way you read the stories for each event made is go by so damn fast! For all those fmailies, legit hope they are doing as well as they can be
This is my favorite so far, thank u Mr Ryan for bringing these stories for us to hear although they are very sad and very tragic makes u realize how fragile our life is, the last story makes me shiver, May they all Rest In Peace to those victims involved . Watching from here Melbourne Florida USA 🇺🇸 God bless sir ❤
Love your channel! And this series :) Personally, I like the list of 5 with more details rather than the quick top 10 list Lookin forward to seeing more of ur content!
The telescopic toilets were originally used in Amsterdam, Netherlands. They were to try and help with drunken night life, to help prevent deaths from people falling in the river while using the bathroom. They were brought to the UK , Denmark, Belgium, and Sweden by 2012.
I mean this in the least demented way possible: I absolutely LOVE This series! *It's like reverse psychology. Some people say sad stuff makes u sad but for me, I have immense respect for the person who suffered and I imagine how much they would want us all to cherish Life that so many of us can overlook what we have while we have it. So it makes me realize how greatful I should be even for the littlest thing's in Life.
It’s weird to say I enjoyed this list, so I’ll say I found it interesting 😅 I like all of your compilations, it’s nice to have some vids that are 10 cases and other more interesting at 5 cases. Either way, I think you’re doing a great job so I’ll watch whatever you choose to do :)
That last one definitely inspired a case in the 9-1-1 series. The one where the bakery manager gets stuck in a mixer because she wouldn't follow safety regulations, because it was too slow
I can’t image what the senior engineer in the last story went through. He couldn’t stop the machine and just had to wait as the two men were cooked alive. I hope he doesn’t blame himself.
If he was a senior engineer you would think he would know how to stop the machine, and that the machine belt did not have a reverse option. Pretty bad senior enginere.
Still love both the 5 list and 10, the 10 list would be great for when you don't have much info on the story to accompany it. Man I was really hoping that someone would make it through one of these, though I'm sure many ppl would not want to live through that last one. So horrible!
