I’ve heard of this happening, but while hosing dust and dirt off, one did it on his face and the air went up his nose! That wasn’t a pretty outcome and the other was on the face as well, but in the eye. Even worse outcome. Apparently if that much forced air enters any part of the body that has air to it, rectum, nose, ear(that’d be awful), eyes, open wound, you basically will die. It’s kinda like what happens if an air bubble gets in your iv, you’re doomed. It’s just best to not air yourself off. That supervisor should’ve known that. In HS woodshop we were told not to blow the dust off of our clothes with the compressor hose. Well one day some of the boys in class decided to hose off because it was homecoming and they wanted to look good, and he blew his eye out of it's socket and it was just dangling there by a thread. Our teacher had to call an ambulance and rode with him to the hospital and we had to join the other shop class. He did end up losing his eye, and I can still picture it just hanging there.

Me, personally, I would never get in a car without knowing how to manually get out again. I would probably never buy a car so dependent on the batteri, but I would definitely ask about the contingency in case of batteri failure. That said, yes, this should be mandatory info from the salesppl b4 letting the customer drive off the lot. Theres always a quick runthrough, when u buy a new car, especially 1 so different. How this was not strongly emphasized is mindboggling. But.... it was also his responsibility to know this, just as his dogs life and wellbeing was his responsibility, yet he had no problem leaving her unattended in a locked car with no open windows on a hot day for 3 HOURS. James situation reminds me of 2 life lessons my dad taught me as a teenager. 1. NEVER leave a living being (or plants) in a locked car on a summer day. He had an employee who tragically killed their child by forgetting him in a hot car. If you never leave anything alive in the car, it becomes something impossible to accidentally do. Dog, person, nothing should be left in a car unless you're in it. 2. Read my owners manual to any vehicle I purchase. That was more to take better care and maintenance of my vehicles, but also things like the trunk release could save a life. Such a sad story 😞
@hl513

>If you never leave anything alive in the car, it becomes something impossible to accidentally do. This isn't true. Something as simple as a change in routine could lead to a person completely forgetting someone else is in the car while their brain is operating on autopilot. It could happen to anyone. Always check the backseat of your car to make sure this isn't the one day your wife told you to drop off the kid before work or something.

I grew up with rednecks and white trash parents, they taught me similar. BB guns, airsoft guns, air rifles, they're all treated like actual guns. Safety on, walk with the gun pointed in the air or at the ground, finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot, and dont aim the gun at anything you're not planning on shooting and be aware of anything behind, in front of, or next to the target. That applies to any gun unless you've personally checked to make sure its fully unloaded. Compressed air guns arent any different since those industrial air guns can get some serious pressure, i've heard stories of them getting clogged and blowing the clog out like a bullet and as you mention if you jab them into someone they can shoot air into their bloodstream or body and kill them. There's actually a weapon called an "air knife" or a "CO2 injection knife" that works like this: it's meant for scuba divers to fend off sharks and when its stabbed into something it shoots a bunch of compressed air into the wound which can instantly kill even a larger shark.

I was wondering that too i work as a semi truck mechanic and we work with them all the time our system pressure is around 10 Bar and in the summer many of the guys actually put the airguns into their worksuits and point them at themselves nothing ever happens If you point it directly at you you can get like slightly burnt upper layers of skin when the air only has very little room to escape but thats it The guys must have either pierced a hole in the other mans body or as you said pushed it up his behind Unless they have some insane pressure which i dont think from looking at the footage

Volcanoes also produce the stuff. My family visited the hot springs at the drive-in volcano in St. Lucia and the whole place smells like overcooked eggs because of low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide gas. The dream car story, 1) panic is probably the fatal factor. The term "idiot proofing" doesn't always mean intelligence. Sometimes it really factors in panic. That's why most modern Exit signs are now "green for safety" lots of people got confused with the old "red signs." Especially tourists to the USA. 2) lots of people carry "car glass" breaking devices. Mostly used to escape a car crashed in water. But it would of helped here. I'm not victim blaming. My dad who works in construction always told me to never play with the air compressor and never ever point it at yourself or anyone else; a small cut can have the air forced in allowing a bubble potentially into the bloodstream, which causes pulmonary embolisms. So I'm always careful with compressed air, because 💩 happens.

The one with the corvette, had something similar happen to me. I worked at a dealership at the time and was just got done detailing a customer’s corvette. Pets and also babies have died in cars within five minutes in the heat, even with the window open an inch. I am sorry for the old man but seriously, I'm surprised the dog wasn't already dead after the man came back. People need to learn not leave living beings in a car while they leave "just for a moment to get something done." Again, I'm also sorry for the old man, but he did what too many others are doing wrong: leaving their pet in the car while doing something else. The other deaths are truly shocking, too. She probably stood no chance because she was most likely close to some type of heat related medical emergency before he even got there. But as far as knowing where the handle is, yes it's the owner's responsibility, but at the same time if it's a different feature then it is in most cars, I think it should be pointed out.

Yes, a simple screwdriver can easily break the glass on the door. Doing that from inside the vehicle is kind of dangerous, but in this case it would have been an option.

For the Corvette story... This is why everyone should keep a window breaker or even just a piece of cracked spark plug insulator..(the white part of the spark plug thats ceramic). You can glue it onto a rubber mallet, taped to the end of a hammer or even just have the piece itself! A gentle tap or toss of that little white piece will cause the window to completely shatter, then from there you can use your fist wrapped in a t-shirt to just lightly punch out the window since it's already shattered the whole way through! Everyone should keep a window shatter device in their car and if you can't afford 1 at the time a spark plug insulator will work just as good!! There's no reason to die over something so easily avoidable, and it's good for so many other situations as well! Such as if you crash and the door won't even open, you can use it to crack the window and get out. Same with water... If you happen to drive into a pond or Creek, you can use it to crack the window if the door or window will open! Please everyone needs to have a window shattering emergency tool in their car for such cases as this... It could very well save your life one day!!

The compressed air one particularly, we have such a machine at home and we sometimes use it to brush dust away from clothes during spring whenever we get yellow dust. We don't really play around with it but the thought had crossed my mind to maybe jokingly aim it at one of my siblings' butt. i thought it would be harmless since we're wearing layers of clothing but this case has taught me that's not true, and though our machine is not industrial-grade, it would still be safer not to try our luck by messing around with it.

Unfortunately, the Corvette owner not noticing the manual door release handles is an issue with all humans. When people are stressed, the focus window within the human being, narrows, and so most things are not visible to them. Most ideas are not thinkable to them. Most actions are not Something they are aware of because the focus window on the human brain narrows when we are stressed and it continues to narrow the more stressed we get. That is a core of what makes us human no matter what age we are. Very few people can resist that Collapse of reasoning and continue to try to investigate how to survive. Most people, the ability to reason quickly collapses, and they go into a state of panic, no matter what age they are, or what their job description is. Because that is some thing that is naturally within our brains all across humanity. Except very very few

How do you not notice the door release latch when it's the first thing you see getting in a car? You get in your car, first thing you see is the floor board because you look to see where you're putting your foot. It's not a small latch, that's hidden away, it literally has a door symbol. They also have a mechanical truck release that he could open and climb out in all c6 c7 Corvette. Also, every C6 Corvette has a mechanical removable roof (targa top) except for the C6 Z06 that has a fixed magnesium roof. It's two latches you pull and the roof pops off, giving you a convertible type opening.

The heat certainly played a part in this. My parent had the same thing happen to them, and proudly read the manual more than once but of course it wasn’t memorized. When you’re trapped in a vehicle with 100+ degree heat for more than a few minutes, you can’t really think straight. It’s understandable to sit in more comfortable environments, reading and watching this, just speculating. It’s a whole other thing to actually be trapped in the situation. I’ve been in regular cars and gotten a flat in the middle of summer on a busy road but less than 5 minutes had to get out. The air becomes stifling. When it’s almost 100 degrees in open air, and at least 10 degrees higher inside a car, your mind will not work the way you think it will. He never should’ve subjected his dog to that though and am surprised no one noticed sooner.

Exactly. It’s not just the mental condition but it’s also the physical condition. From both sides, a person is being assaulted and there isn’t much they can do. They need some sort of outside intervention. It’s the reason why children can cry uncontrollably. It is the reason why people tend to lose their tempers and do things that they normally wouldn’t do. Between the physical condition as in the high temperature and the mental condition of tunnel vision, Both visually and mentally, a human being reaches their breaking point and there is nothing that can be done unless a third-party can get involved. It is so sad how the failures of the human body and brain are rarely put into account when designing technology.@@kstar521

There was a viral video a decade or so ago of a news anchor trying to show people how easy it is for thieves to break into your car and the guy couldn't break the side window of this car with a hammer. The windshield isn't tempered though it does have a film on it to keep it shatter proof. This can easily be kicked through. It may take 10 kicks but it is a much more viable option especially with no tools.

The story about the sauna, I live in a condo, and homeowners association or property management companies don't really care about residents. They always skim money off the top, Raising maintenance and assessments so they can get kickbacks but not really fix anything hence the malfunction of the sauna. Very sad and it happened in my area too. So sad.

Lawsuit against GM is absurd. Sure it’s pretty dumb to remove door handles, but they had a manual release. With all do respect, if you’re not bright enough to find that in the manual, that’s not GM’s fault.

The guys with the air compressor are using it to clean the steel off. We used to do it all the time for dust. Just don't use it up your butt. How he nailed that exact angle and made that shot is absolutely astounding! Like lottery winning astonishing. For anyone else wondering, just use it on your clothes, no skin, no face, and you should be fine.

I mean if you think about it, they have to be very large. How often do you have your septic tank pumped out? For homes on or less than 1 acre, they're usually almost the entire size of the back or side yard (unless you have more than 1 acre of land). It's a small, stinky cave pretty much. Go down the hole and explore underground. 🤢

We got a new SUV this year, with keyless entry/ignition which we hadn't dealt with before. It wouldn't start one day while out but we knew it wasn't the battery, fob was in, all that.. my husband was freaking out, I read the manual. Turned out the gas was a little low (gas station was next stop anyway). Had to do this crazy combination including pumping accelerator, brake & pushing buttons. Started right up. Never would have figured out the combo without the manual. Read thru the rest of it that night for other emergency situations. Please read the manuals!

I don't understand people who leave their dogs in their vehicles. Just f*cking bring them to pet friendly establishments. Go for a take out. Leave them in the comforts of your home or if worried they're going to make mess by themselves, buy a crate. Wtf is wrong with these kinds of people???

Great video as always! Sadly, I wish some people had more common sense. If i stay in a room that has a weird smell and im progressively getting worse and worse, throwing up in bed, coughing, my eyes are turning white i wouldnt stay there for another second!! I would get out, change rooms, go to the hospital, go to another hotel, anything except staying in that room!!
@wrongorange
@wrongorange 7 месяцев назад
Was it stated that they noticed a weird smell? If they started feeling sick without any noticeable cause, how would they have had to make that association that it must be from their room that they started feeling unwell. They were holidaying in a foreign country, it could easily be food that didn't land good or anything. In that case I find it understandable they stayed their, when sick you'd probably rather lay in bed especially when you start feeling too sick to leave. I think we should refrain from making quick judgments, it's easy now to say what you would have done different. Fair, you could have handled it smarter, but that doesn't mean you have to say indignant things about people supposedly lacking common sense (I thought this should be common sense).
@DSM598
@DSM598 7 месяцев назад
