It's understandable. Glad to witness more bizarre deaths in your channel again. Those deaths are really bizarre and unusual. Have you ever noticed how a good portion of all tragic tales, turning points in history & anything else that is bad news take place in April? I've noticed that the accounts retold on your channel are no exception & I am not just referencing just this upload, tho it does have at least one April incident, but a bunch of examples found thruout all of your videos. The first time I heard one of those stories was in secondary school when the fire brigade came in to give a presentation for safety on bonfire night. Told several stories about young people getting horribly injured by fucking about with fireworks while drinking. People seriously get injured every year, left with missing limbs, horribly scarred faces and third degree burn damage, and in this case, death. And it costs firefighters a fortune every year. To us, it's common sense but not everyone has common sense 😭 My heart goes to the families, because it's all so preventable and the victim brings it on themself by ignoring all warnings :(

Those whipped cream canisters are used in many restaurants, I remember having to make the cream for one and learning how they work and it scared the crap outta me. I always assumed they just had a spring to easy whip the stuff, but they made a point to always empty the air before giving it to the dishwasher, because it can explode and make a mess. They were almost empty by that point, but I can't imagine unplugging a full one by accident and having the canister fly off, christ, its basically a giant bullet at that point

I remember the Rebecca story when it happened. It's amazing how easily you don't know something is recalled. I worked at a gas station and we sold eye cleaner. I got a call and was told it had been recalled because it can cause blindness. We did not have contact information for anyone who had bought it. I wonder if anyone who had bought it before the recall and I could pull it off the shelf ever used it to tragic effect. 😥 People don't leave contact info when they purchase things. Should stores keep track of who buys what? People would have to sign up for it...use a credit/debit card... set up a system to find anyone who has purchased a recalled item, go through their bank to contact them... yeah, not happening. Companies won't jump through those hoops to save lives...but they've np raising the price of goods.

The problem is that for a lot of these medications and such, they don't find the side effects until *YEARS* after the product has been on the shelves. Its why I often shake my head when people ask why the companies didn't know that said medications would cause problems, well the answer is simple: those problems often don't show up until much *much* later. For example, one of the medications I used to use for my blood pressure was actually causing said pressure to go up instead of down. But another medication I took worked, so I never noticed it. Then one day while at the doctor he prescribed a new med to me, having informed me that the one he had me on was recalled for doing the opposite of what it was originally meant to do. Now the new one actually keeps my blood pressure down to a more suitable level.

The guy on the zipline actually had a safety strap with a second carabiner connected to the life jacket but his pony tail was holding his weight. At 17:50 -17:52 you can clearly see he has two connections to the line, a shorter one connected to his ponytail, and a looser strap behind it. I'm pretty sure he only lost his momentum and got stuck because the line wasn't set up properly. He didn't get tangled, because his hair was pulled into a short loop as seen in 18:52 which was connected to a chain/belt, which then clipped into the line. The life jacket and the "safety" strap was by no means going to prevent him from falling, as he could have easily slid out of it if his hair had ripped. I'm not sure if that's what had him panicking, or if he forgot he had that second connection, or if he was panicking because it hurt like hell having his hair holding up his body weight. The problem here was the zipline itself. I think if that had been set up correctly and tested, he would have easily made it. The safety precautions aren't great and probably would have failed if he had needed them. Ziplines are hard to set up, if they are too steep, people are going too fast and get injured at the end, and if they are too shallow they get stuck half-way, as it happened here. They should have tested it with a dummy, like a bag of stones around the same weight as him, connected to a rope so it could be pulled back until they had the angle right.

I was at a new year's party years ago when I was about 12, just a small gathering of my mother's friends. We had been using fireworks all night, safely. One of the fireworks that had been set tipped over at the last moment, and flew sideways across the ground at the host's elderly father, smashing into his leg. He was too slow to move out of the way soon enough. *thankfully*, he was just bruised, as the firework didn't actually explode when it hit him. It hit his thigh, then flew off somewhere else and exploded. He escaped the situation with a very sore bruise. We were all incredibly lucky to not witness a death that day. I know people bawk at safety and see it as a buzzkill, but when it comes to your loved ones being alive or dead, take a few extra minutes to just make sure everything is safe. It's better to be safe than have to attend your loved one's funeral and constantly know that they might still be alive if you'd bothered to care about safety.

The RC helicopter one…There’s images of it circulating. Easy to find, but not for the faint of heart. He got fuuuucked up by that helicopter. Looks like he caught a large battle ax to his head twice. Honestly, as tragic as it is, he knew what the RC was capable of. (Even small indoor drones will fuck up your fingers, albeit not cut them off) And he did a very dangerous stunt with it so was probably a matter of time if he would’ve kept at it. Shame it was at such young age though.

It's really scary how quickly and easily a tragedy can happen at any given time. I once witnessed a tragedy right in front of my eyes at a water park. I was 16 at the time. I remember I just got off the slide and splashed into the pool. I then stood on the side behind the safety fence and watched as other people came down the slide. It was a nice sunny Saturday afternoon. The instructor told us to go down the slide sitting down with our feet facing the slide, cross our arms over our chest and lay on our backs as we went down the slide. They clearly stated NOT to go down the slide head first and NOT to get a running start down the slide. Next thing I know this dude gets a good run in and launches himself head first down the slide. A few seconds later he launched over the side of the slide that had a sharp curve and he fell down from at least 130 feet. All I heard was screaming and the impact of his body hitting the concrete. Everything went silent and then I heard the sounds of his family crying. It was said that he fell at a speed of nearly 100km/h because of how fast he launched himself down the slide and died instantly. I am 30 now and I remember it like it was yesterday. I will never forget the crying and the sound of his body hitting the ground.
@gabrielpowers766
@gabrielpowers766 10 месяцев назад
Poor design. There should be no way that there is room to get a running start to the start of the slide. It should be a small area, like a cow corral, where you can only just step forward and slide once you get to the starting point.

Okay... There was the phrase in Devon's story, regarding "Don't worry. It's a dud." AND somehow that supposedly made the incident qualify (to some people) as a "freak accident"... As an amateur rocket engineer and experimentalist, I can promise you that "Dud" or "Failure to detonate" does NOT render such things even remotely "safe". In point of fact, the duds and failures are probably THE MOST DANGEROUS FIREWORKS IN THE WORLD!!! Even if the popular fireworks are toys on the market with "low grade" propellants and charges, THEY ARE STILL FILLED WITH EXPLOSIVES!!! 999 out of 1000 duds only failed to detonate because the Fuse broke, whether it parted outside the container and wrapper, or it parted just inside. It's the fuse that went "wrong" and EVERYTHING ELSE inside that thing is still 100% as volatile and flammable and EXPLOSIVE as it ever was. DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH FAILED FIREWORKS!!! Don't store them. Don't pack them back in the family stationwagon or minivan. Don't put them on grandma's mantlepiece as a memoir. It sucks, but disposal is best handled by completely submerging them in WATER and leaving them in there for at least the night or a day... Then wrap it up and throw it in the trash with the rest of the party-litter for "Clean-up". THE worst possible sound out of a rocket, shaped charge, or any of the fiery toys I've handled or built is "SILENCE"... When I intend it to "go off" there's supposed to be noises, so when there's nothing, I get worried. It's not a time to breathe a sigh of relief, and it's not a point to take on a sense of security... EVER. Some folks have the technical skills and knowledge to do other than my prescription for a "dud"... BUT that's on them. I know what else I'm capable of doing, and I'll keep that to myself, as well. It's not worth trying to share it, because just like playing with fireworks, it's damnably dangerous... and only gets worse when someone tries it and doesn't know what the hell they're doing. AND no, you should NOT be drinking if you're going to be shooting fireworks. I'm no straight-edge, but playing with explosives and alcohol DO NOT MIX. There's judgment involved in pacing off "safe distances" and what exactly constitutes "flat and level" for ground or firing surfaces like launch-pads and whatnot. It's exactly the kind of FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY that failures give to people like Devon that makes them THE MOST DANGEROUS of all such play-things. AND yes, they are for play. Nobody's out there planning to really take on the government in a military coup with the Black Cat company leading their arsenal. AND just like the remote controlled Helicopters, the fact that they are toys does NOT make anything safer. My motorcycle is arguably a "grown up's toy"... BUT trust me, it can kill you so fast you won't even have time to realize you've f*cked up before it's all over and you're dead. This sh*t's important, folks. Bring the word to friends, relatives, and ESPECIALLY your children as they come of age... Do it properly, and all these things CAN be handled, used, and enjoyed with relative safety. There's just no room for screwing around and making sh*t up as you go along. ;o)

I'm sick TO DEATH of some bozo getting drunk and doing something stupid, and then more and More AND MORE regulations coming out to make me and the rest of responsible, adult humanity JUST MORE MISERABLE. It's not difficult. There are diagrams practically drawn in crayon on the sides of packaging... EASY instructions about safe places, flat ground, stand-offs, and you light the fuse and get the hell BACK... watch the show... BUT with a regularity you can practically set a clock to, there's another f***in' moron ruining himself or his family life, and I have another legal statute... some other reason for a cop to have NOTHING better to do than argue with me all hours day or night... some more restrictions... and something else BANNED because as fun as it can be, somebody's just too stupid to be allowed near it. almost like it's MY fault. I didn't sell it to him or his family. I didn't tell the idiot to set it off balancing on his friggin' head. I didn't give him booze... You might get a little "miffed" too, if you woke up and found out due to some jack-ass doing something dumb, injuring himself and a bunch of other people, now YOU have to go and spend a bunch of money and waste your time in ANOTHER class to handle ordinary fuel for your ordinary car... something you've probably done JUST FINE since you were a kid, helping your parents pump gas. That's sort of the same feeling I get whenever they bitch and whine about more regulations on the fireworks... black powder... etc... It's just stupid, and to beat all, it's not going to stop (or likely even slow down) the morons from blowing themselves up... lighting each other on fire... and whatever else they do by being stupid. ;o)

I've been binging every episode for weeks. All around a good channel. Good production. And good narration.

If fireworks are handled like the explosives they are; they’re reasonably safe. Unfortunately they’re often used for celebrations with alcohol…not an ideal mix

Unlike some in the comments, event when someone does something stupid, I don’t think it’s funny or they deserved it… it’s a gross way to think. It’s sad. Things happen and sometimes folks do stupid things. No one deserves to die. I feel for all the people. But I hope folks see these as reasons as why to stay safe, and maybe don’t do some things.

I'll happily point out someone's stupidity. Doesn't mean they deserved to die. Best not to put words in someone's mouth.

I set one of those mortar fireworks off in a box once, and it obliterated it. I can only imagine the husk of a skull left behind that his friends had to witness and behold of their friend. People, these are not toys. These are things that are modified from items generated to kill during war. Use them as instructed. My respects to the friends and family, and his lone dumb decision.
