I purchased my Cub Cadet XT2 in May of 2016. Since that time I've had to replace the main drive and transmission belts but thankfully they were under warranty when they failed. Since my warranty ran out this past May, any warranty work is on my dime. I will also point out that I mow about 2 1/2 acres of very hilly property and this mower does struggle going up steeper inclines. I also have the snow blower attachment so this mower gets used year round. Just yesterday I had to blow about 8" of snow and the throttle cable broke but was still able to blow snow even at idle speed. I was able to order another from the Cub Cadet website but I would think that it should have lasted more than 3 1/2 years. It's a pretty easy fix though. I've also had to replace the blades once (just his past summer) but I do sharpen my own every Spring before mounting the deck (I also have the 54" fabricated deck). If I had to purchase this tractor again, I would have spend the extra money and gone with the XT3 since it has a shaft drive instead of belts and pulleys. Overall, it's a good mower and gets heavy use in the Summer and Winter. The only recommendation I would make is that if you are mowing up and down more than 15% grades, go with the XT3 Model instead. I enjoyed the video. I just bought the XT2 LX42 but it doesn't have the PTO. This will be a big change from my 23 year old Cub 2135. I need to figure out the new deck height and stuff. I would love to see a video of all the maintenance needed from greasing to filter and oil changes too. (if you do that on video). Well done video

Great review. I really liked how you explained the reverse feature. I am researching this model and thought I would have to push and wait every time. And that would have been a deal breaker.

I am thinking about getting a used Cub Cadet XT2 LX54, but I am seeing quite a few negative reviews. I really like your review and you gave great information. If anyone has an opinion I would love to hear it, are used Cub Cadet mower still reliable?

Can this mower be pushed backwards too, once the lever is pulled out? Wow, I love this mower and will be going to the store that has these tomorrow and buying one. I am so impressed. Everything is so easily accessible. Great review.

Hi. Nice review. Thanks. Quick question. I just bought the xt2 and my throttle only goes half way up. Is that normal? I find the tractor way slower comparing to my old one wich has a transmatic gear box. Any ideas? Thanks

In your review of the Cub Cadet XT3-GSX 54" Deck, you mentioned that if while the engine is running, and you have the park brake on, you can get off the mower and the engine won't die. Is that true for the XT1 and XT2 series mowers too?

I just looked at a video from 2017 the guy had a XT2 with larger rear tires and a kawasaki engine. Is that a change from 2017 to 2018 or was his optioned up?

People dont buy this lawnmower, dont waste ur money.

Cub Cadet tractors are garbage. I kept having electrical issues.
