One can almost feel the mindfulness of the movements. It may appear slow, but in reality, he's visualizing a real opponent and real punches coming at him. Grace movements in practice bring grace in the ring.
Watching this makes me miss my grandfather. He was from santiago de cuba taught me the basics of cuban boxing. From the broom stck pivots to the pivot uppercut counters. As I went to American boxing clubs because he was too old to train me they did not approve of the style...so I stopped boxing. But I still practice what I was taught even as an adult. I have a son and when he is old enough I will teach him the cuban style! Subscribed. One day I want to go the Rafael Trejo Boxing gym to get a session in!
Yeah the American style or UK style isnt really for me... I think the Cuban style challenges the common perception of balance, movement and punch variation that is sometimes limited in most countries. I think outside of Cuba... Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine are the places where the Cuban style is appreciated. I would love to see some posts from you in training.
@@fvdj2204 its used to emphasize more hip movement and mobility. You hold the stick on your shoulders to perfect the technique of the lower body. Afterwards you incoporate punches. Its hard to explain lol.
I love you. Your videos are short, simple and to the point. Just plain quality!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I did not know the Cuban styles until you taught me this. (And your other videos!)
Man you're smooth! I downloaded you you footwork drills! Download more content about footwork and defenses! I will use you vid for my training! Greetings from the 🇵🇭
Hello. If possible, could you consider doing a video on double end bag drills. They are way easier to setup in an apartment since everything is closed.
Footwork and technique looks good You seem to be very knowledgeable about the sport of boxing would like to see it in action in sparring or a fight if you compete that is
I was supposed to have a fight a few days just before the lockdown - got cancelled. Since then I've sparred a few times as the gyms have randomly opened. But as I'm considering becoming simply a coach I might upload some sparring.
It will be very cool if you will show countering punches while moving back, and cut of corner's. And punching with opposite step's. Thumb's up guy's!))) Hello from Kazakhstan boxer's!)))
Your lack of knowledge on this issue is astounding. The Cuban boxing style is not the problem... The issue Cuban boxers face is defection and not being able to return to family, friends and the environment that enabled them to garner the "Olympic level boxing" that give them gold in the tournaments they turn up to. They also have to stay in the amateur game a lot longer than they would to defect as international tournaments and the Olympics present the only credible opportunities for defection. In addition to this ALL the Cuban boxers that you have seen are making money and are of elite standing. Just remember you haven't really seen what Cuba has to offer in pro boxing... you've seen less than 1% of the boxers from the country that could go pro.
That was beautiful...ur balance is awesome.. Pardon me but try to keep ur lead shoulder higher than the other, like the russians.. It would greatly enhance ur balance I love how ur style is like the slick version of the russian stance.. They are very frontal and stable but somewhat stiff But u seem to have fused both styles adding a cuban mix in it.. Excellent.. Would love to see u sparring
It’s great to see that you’re not wearing pillows on your hands smiling. There are so many people I see on this site wearing boxing gloves which are terrible. For starters boxing gloves give you a false sense of security because they are larger than your hands they Padding on the ends of them so they give you more reach which gives you another false sense of security. And thirdly which I noticed with you is it teaches you to keep your hands open and not clench your fist hence causing fractures in your knuckles? But this is great you did not do this but I suggest you practice this on the punching bag not wearing gloves and went to clenched fist to punch him or solid
Thanks Jason... I never shadow box with gloves on. Perhaps the only things I would add is a mirror and a small hand weight (1kg) that I would only clench at the target zone.
@@Charlessalbox Okay cool that’s a good idea. Another option is elastic straps you can make a belt up and have elastic straps tight to him and that way it’ll teach you to pull back as quick as you pull push forward with your punches. I know when you wear gloves all the time it teaches you to keep your hands open and I know they say to keep soft and gentle but at the last minute it’s good to clinch the first and if you have a good solid foundation behind that punch like a tight first you can do some damage
@@Charlessalbox What I’d like to see is footwork having an opponent in the centre and moving around him with different styles of footwork because a lot of people don’t do correct footwork like what you’re doing you got the feet face the right direction at the right All the time there’s no criss-crossing people want to say that I want to say that I think that would be a great start
@@Charlessalbox And break it down bit by bit let the people know what you’re doing how are you doing it how are you would use that in a technique and so forth I think you’ll do just fine
Здравствуй! А я думал что по этому можно учиться. Как другу напиши мне почему Считаешь что правый отсутствует? Мне это для тренировки надо так как я вдохновляюсь на этом канале , тренируюсь по этим видео
