The Chicago Cubs came all the way back from a 10-5 deficit with a nine-run 8th inning to defeat the Braves

With 2 outs, I would probably say that this is a National League record. However, in the American League, the record is 9 runs with 2 out. The Brewers (now the Orioles) in 1901 coughed up a 13-4 2-out lead in the 9th inning to lose 14-13 to the Tigers in the first American League season.

I was at this game. The weather was totally crap 26 degrees with the windchill which resulted in most of the fans leaving early with the Cubs loosing by a lot. By the time the 8th inning it looked like less that 1,000 fans were left. I'm glad I stayed. What a finish!

I'll never forget watching this game on tv. Was screwing around on Facebook when all of this happened, and noticed that a couple of my friends who were at the game, posted their status as being almost home after leaving early because of the weather and the 6th inning 10-2 deficit. I got right on their status and told them they better turn on the radio or the tv as soon as they got home. They didn't believe me, until about an hour later

It was cold, raining, windy, and crappy out and the cubs were losing 9-1 and 10-2 once, and all the fans that stayed were given a gift for staying.

Shout out to all the real fans! If thats really your team stay and support them. I'll bet the fans leaving fueled them, thinking "so when we're winning you all want to scream and say you bleed red and blue. Once 'we're losing you've got better things to do. Imagine going to your sons or daughters softball games, football game, or basketball game, and leabe when your kids getting blown out... then get a call from your kid standing outside in the rain wondering where you're at? 😂🤣

My 9 year old nephew and i were at this game (his first) during the game i would ask him if he wanted to go? His feet were cold he was all wet. He would just ask "could they still win Uncle Brent? I had to be honest so he wanted to stay i can see us in the stands when the runner crosses home I love you Benjamin so glad we shared this

I remember this day in Chicago. What a horrible cold, windy and rainy day. I'm amazed they even played. Still it was one of the greatest cubs comebacks.

As a Braves fan I’ll give the Cubs credit for not giving up in this typical Chicago weather. They’ve made the playoffs the last 3 years for a reasons. Won it all after the longest drought in sports. As far as Atlanta “Choking” is concerned I’ve seen worse than this. Cubs are primed to win now. The Braves are 1-3 years away with a much younger team. #cubswin #growingpains

Lmao I will forever remember this game. Just a rainy chilly day throughout. Kinda had a bad-ish feeling going in, and sure enough, Ozzie Albies homered in like the 3rd pitch of the game right down the line. I think the Braves made it like 5-0 in the 2nd or something like that, and I turned the game off and literally said “this game is over”. The day and minutes kinda went by, and I remember my family was about to go to church and I saw it was like 10-5 bases loaded. Think I saw a walk or two on the Gameday app, and then saw Javier freakin Baez deliver a 3-run double to tie the game. Amazing! He usually strikes out with 2 strikes. Heard the whole inning in the car, ending with the throw into centerfield by Suzuki to make it 14-10. I remember Maddon said after the game that it shouldn’t have been played. But that sure was a fun day and fun memory. Down 10-2 to win 14-10! Wow!!

I watched this game at Home, Braves pitchers couldn't throw a strike if their lives depended on it, That double by Baez bounced in the infield dirt and rolled all the way to the outfield wall, it was completely smoked. Greatest Comeback I've ever witnessed.

All of this with 2 outs!! Some friends of mine from Danville went up to this game and left in the 6th inning because of the weather. I was watching the game at home and sent them texts asking how crazy it was there (Thinking they were still at the game) Needless to say, they weren't too happy they left early!!!

I know this isn't the same thing, really, but just to prove how crazy some games can be, I remember April 22nd, 1959, when the White Sox scored 11 runs on only one hit in the 7th inning against Kansas City. Not to diminish my Cubbies. I've been a fan since Glen Beckert played second base. Go Cubbies!

Keep the faith brother, it's getting better. The hitting is already there. The key will be if we can get more innings out of out starting pitching across the board, that will put less stress on the bullpen night after night. We really aren't too far off. Got some really good, exciting things happening right now.
