'CULO' ON MY MIND & CURSE CULTURE IN ITALY EXPLAINED 

Esiste anche 'pararti il culo' che si dice tipo quando ti salvo da una situazione brutta o spiacevole. "Devi ringraziarmi perchè ti ho parato il culo"

C'è anche l'espressione "ma chi ti s'incula?" nel senso "non darti tante arie, neanche ti considero" ahah

"In culo alla balena" is another way of saying "In bocca al lupo" (Good luck)

C'è poco da dire... culo is love, culo is life, culo is everything.

Other words and espressions are "paraculo" to describe an opportunistic person, "rodere il culo" when you are irritated or envious of something good/ positive that happened to someone else, "essere culo e camicia" when you describe two people that are always together. Now that I think about it we have really a lot of sayings with "culo" in it 😂😂

"Mi gira il culo" non l'avevo mai sentita, non so se è un modo di dire tipicamente del Nord o di Milano in particolare. Di solito diciamo "Mi girano le palle", frase che, come hai detto anche te, è simile in inglese :)

"faccia da culo" has a different meaning in my opinion...or at least I've always used it in a different way. Faccia da culo or "avere la faccia come il culo" means that you have no shame, but in a not so positive way...

One you left out is the verb “inculare” which means “to steal” 😂 for example: mi hai inculato la penna (you stole my pen)

In Bergamo we often say “in culo ai lupi” (in wolves’ butts) instead of “in culo al mondo” 🐺

Loved this video. My italian is sadly limited. Here my culo story: I had lunch in a fantastic restaurant in the Cinque Terre area. Easy to get by with english. After waiting for my food for ages I lodged a tentative enquiry with the waiter. Alas, I was unable to understand his english response and became impatient. He hissed "vaffanculo" an left. About al culo del mondo : We have the same thing in German "Am Arsch der Welt" (which is literally the same). Plus I've also heard people use phrases like "Siamo _in culonia_" to refer to a very remote place, which for a German is also funny because there's also the German town of Cologne which in Italian is Colonia (and sounds almost like culonia). About avere culo in the sense of having luck - When I was in my first years of studying Italian I confused that way of saying a bit and said "Che bel culo che ha". So I literally said "What a beautiful butt she has" instead of "Che culo che ha" (How lucky she is). Pretty embarrassing...

Tia, you may find this interesting, but the Italian uses of the word "culo" are practically equivalent in Argentinian Spanish! LOL!

"L' hanno inculato/si è fatto inculare" --> when somebody is a victim of a scam. The first sentence point out that the victim is a victim. The second highlight how the victim was stupid enough to be easily scammed. Is similar to fregare "Si è inculato -il mio portafoglio-" when someone stole something really important to you, like money or a wallet. "Ma chi ti s'incula?!" Retorical question to tell someone that nobody is paying attention to them

"Avere il culo pesante" quando qualcuno non ha voglia di fare qualcosa. Ad esempio "Mi prendi un bicchiere d'acqua? -Perchè non te lo prendi tu, che hai il culo pesante?" I'd like to add "avere il culo rotto" (to have a broken arse) and "che culo rotto" (what a broken arse), which both mean "to be very lucky" and it's only Southern Italian, I think. And for the dialect section, in Neapolitan we have the expression "'o culo 'e malassiette" (the uncomfortably sitting arse), which refers to someone who's always looking uncomfortable and can't settle down (as if their arse was uncomfortable to sit on).

About blasphemies: in Tuscany they're seen "as normal curse words" and you'll hear not only young people but also old people saying them. I know in other regions they're seen as the worst kind but here not that much actually, for example instead of saying "cazzo" or "merda" you'll say a blasphemy

Besides the ones already suggested (the ones I've seen) there's also: - In culo alla balena (good luck but for fishermen and mariners) - Essere culo e camicia (being inseparable) - Fare qualcosa col culo (or con i piedi, doing something without care/badly)

Also if we want to get “dirtier”, “metter nel culo/inculare” (literally “f*** off [someone]”) means something similar to “fare il culo” but worse. So it’s used when someone betrays you or when someone defeats you in bad and strong way. It’s a kind of metaphor of the sexual act, when someone basically dominates someone else. If I’m not wrong this expression is similar in English too.

Wait: Faccia da Culo can be positive sometimes, it means also that someone is doing his "furbo" thing around or that someone is cool (that's a funny word play) but unfriendly but kinda like the joker (it can be said of someone that "sta prendendo per il culo")... You can use it also like the English word "Asshole", you can say it even to your fiancé when he's being evasive, funny, stupid, offensive, in a positive connotation too while flirting or smiling to eachother

Gotta love "avere la faccia come il culo", which means being unapologetic and bold. Confusingly, "faccia da culo" can also mean that. Also, you have "in culonia" which is a little bit like "in culo".

"Fare le cose col culo" as an alternative way to say "fare le cose coi piedi", meaning doing things badly but more vulgar. I've also heard "col culo (che faccio qualcosa)" as an alternative of "col cazzo", meaning you feel very strong emotions about not wanting to do something, but culo i believe is softer than cazzo. Merda is also a fun curse word much like culo and can similarly mean both negative/neutral/positive things.

Hey Tia! In Milanese Dialect (the variety of lombard language spoken in milan), you have the world "cuu" (pronounced /ky:/) used in different sentences. The most common probably is "Ma va a dà via el cuu!" (literally "go give away your butt!"), and it means "fuck off". Another famous one we have is "cuu alegher" (literally "happy butt"), which is a veeery unpolite way of saying 'gay'.
