Love your shows. Feel your pain with those wake boats. Just an FYI, you are fishing right out in front of the Chattanooga Ski Club so your gonna get rocked. Keep doing what you do!
Yup, too miserable to fish on any body of water on the weekend, bumper to bumper boats on Lake Michigan on Saturday in Summer... River Rage LOL Thanks for all you do!
Dave, I'm with ya!!! The disrespect of some people. Most parents teach their children to be respectful on the water when someone is fishing to slow down and stay as far away from them as possible as to not scare the fish or cause waves/wakes. I'm not sure what they teach these younger folks today but, it's not anything good as we can tell by their actions. Excellent videos Dave!! Could you please do more videos on how and what tackle you use to rig poles with for different situations? Thanks again from one wake boat disliker to another. Sometime if you are looking to branch out come to Kansas for Blue Cat. Milford Reservoir at Milford, KS has a Blue Cat Tournament every year and I know large Blue Cat live there but, they just can't seem to catch them. Also, I like the fact that you are a catch and release fisherman!
I was there Saturday and all 68 parking places at the Wolftever ramp were full and Chester Frost was too. Add in Harrison Bay and Island Cove and there were over 200 boats on the lower end. Mostly wake boats and pontoons/tritoons. And yes...they DO try to swamp smaller boats.
Hello again Dave. Good show really nice fish. I just don't know where that kiddy cat kept coming from. Must have been from those. white water boats. any way keep'm coming.
I hate wake board boats too. I try to fish early and get off the water by 10 or I go late and try at night this time of year. I never do well with chicken thigh. If I have to use chicken I use the breast.
Dave I feel for you battling those boats. It's the same thing I deal with when I'm Bass fishing. Damn pleasure boaters make it tough... Sorry that your dealing with that crap, But i gotta say I can't help but laugh the way you curse at them, and the "meow" was cracking me up 😂
I've been calling all those pleasure boat people, wave runners the Wee's. Remind me of those insurance commercials with the pig has his head out the window Weee. Up and down doing circles Weee!!!
How much do you think that big one weighed? Looking at the belly, its cut, and its length I'd say it was 50-55 pounds. Nice and pretty. Dave, some of those weren't wakes, they were breakers. No sense in that at all, I agree. I mean, 200 yards can make a lot of difference and 200 yards is nothing in a wake boat. I never miss a trip, Dave. You and I are a lot alike, I think. If we ever got together in boat fishing we could probably solve a few world problems. Till next time, y'all. 👍🖖🎣
The whole dang river/reservoir and they have to go 50 yards away from the guy fishing. At least on some of Kansas reservoir’s skiers have a designated area the are supposed to stay in. W&P is pretty good about enforcing it and keeping them away from fishing boats in the rest if the lake.
All those wake boarders watch your videos. They call each other up when they see you on the water and gang up on you. Then they laugh their heads off as they watch the waves in the next video.
Dave, I just had a thought, ...how would it work to have a mic' in the back of the boat where the reels are? That way we could hear the drag strip, and it could create even more excitement???
Ya know what Kat-Fish Dave.... Ummm, it's not only possible to get a large catfish of that chicken but you might also come up w/ a large/angry turtle? You never know out in the water & I've caught quite a few turtles. Scalded/cleaned my share as well but I don't eat them. My old neighbor loved it so we'd do it for him every now -n- then. Lot of work doing a turtle. peace
Over the years, I’ve learned that when you hang up if you use reverse psychology on your bait by simply saying it ain’t coming up a few times about 90% of the time it will come unstuck😂
You have more patience then I do. The wakeboard boat black and yellow Malibu would have gotten one of those 8oz sinkers blasting the side of there boat by now. I have fished and wake boarded all up and down the Tennessee river. I would call TWRA and report them for getting to close to you. Probably some young kids sporting daddies 300k boat around
This is why I stay off the lake during the day in the summer time. But sitting in the dead ass middle of the lake cussing boats like you own the water isn't a good look, I mean what do you expect lol
I know that's irritating with all those skiers out there. It's almost as though they target the fisherman just to tick them off. That happens out there at the lake and I just call it a day and head somewhere else.
My cat was sitting next to me on the patio when I started watching, now she is cowering under the table and looking at me like I am making that racket. Not sure what that cat was saying but it must not have been nice.
I don't know if you will dehydrate but you may well work up to a high anxiety crisis. It is amusing at first, until you keep carping on other boaters. Fact is it is public water and unless they are engaging in illegal boat handling these are the results. When I had a boat I could not pick and choose when I could fish so I had to go at the most active times for our local waters here in central Washington. I did the same as you, getting worked up, it was annoying to have other boaters disrupt the waters the way I wanted them to be. One day, a fourth of July, the lake was more full and stirred up than your video shows and I went fishing anyway, I had an unbelievably great day, lots of Walleye and huge Crappie caught with boats speeding around close all day. Admittedly there is a greater risk of one of these hitting you due to the crowding and the drinking but I learned that even with rough waters the bite can still be favorable. Try to relax, you are a fabulous cat fisherman and there are many more great trips on the water in your future.
i fish on weekends from 5 am to about 10-11, and im gone. My main fishing day is monday, i work saturdays so i can have monday off, and the lake is quiet and calm
