Custody After Brutal Homicide Stabbing

DETAILS:
Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire responded to multiple reports of a shirtless male stabbing a man outside of a convenience store.
According to Phoenix Police on the scene:
Officers arrived to find the stabbing suspect still on the scene.
The suspect was held at gunpoint until additional officers arrived.
Once backup arrived, multiple officers approached the suspect and took him into custody.
With the area now secured, Phoenix Fire crews quickly responded.
Crews attempted to render aid to the male stabbing victim, but life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Homicide detectives are currently on the scene investigating the incident.
The investigation is expected to take several hours.
