In this video I will be showing two of my customized Hot Wheels 1970 Camaro RS/Z28 models.
The Rally Sport option changed the look of the front end of the 1970 Camaro. This option removed the single bumper on the base model and added two separate bumpers on either side of the grill. The base model also had banana style parking lights under the bumper, while the Rally Sport option removed these and added round parking lights between the headlights on both sides of the grill. The RS package could be added to any model Camaro and when combined with the Z28 package it became a RS/Z28. A front chin spoiler was included in the Z28 package. There were two deck lid spoilers available for the Z28, one had a short height and the other was the taller height spoiler as shown in the real blue and orange car photos at the beginning of this video. All 1970 Camaros have four round recessed taillights similar to the 1970 Corvette.
Both of the 2018 Hot Wheels models are based on the 1970 Camaro RS/Z28 with the taller rear spoiler. However, neither Hot Wheels model has the Z28 large twin stripes on the hood, trunk lid, and rear spoiler. My customized cars have Real Rider wheel swaps along with front and rear end details.
2018 Orange Hotchkis '70 Camaro (First produced in 2011 - Made in Malaysia):
346/365 2018 HW Speed Graphics 7/10 Orange Black & Wite stripes on sides & hood, 'Hotchkis' on sides, Black Plastic Base, Clear Windows, Black Chrome rim PR5 wheels, model was designed by Dave Weise
Issues with casting: Recessed banana parking lights in front (removed with RS option)
Wheel Swap: The black plastic Chrome rim PR5s were replaced with Real Rider Tear Drop Blings.
2018 Metalflake blue '70 Camaro RS (First produced in 2006 - Made in Malaysia):
50th Anniversary Camaros 3/10 Metalflake blue, White stripes on hood & roof; white & black stripes on sides, Chrome Plastic Base, Tinted (black) Windows, black and chrome MC5 wheels, model debuted in the Ultra Hots Series.
Issues with casting: Protruding lights and chrome on the body below both bumpers. There was no factory option for a cowl induction hood.
Wheel Swap: The black plastic MC5 Muscle Car 5-Spokes were replaced with Real Rider Larry Wood 5-Spokes (from Larry's Garage series).
Hot Wheels Model Differences:
The Orange model has a longer wheel base with and wider body with uniform wheels and axles. The blue model has recessed outlines for the window trim and door handles, along with black tinted windows. This model also has larger and wider rear wheels. Both bumpers are cast into the orange body, while they are both molded into the chrome plastic base of the blue model.
