2:12 stripped splines on the hub? When the guy rotates the hub, the axle isn't moving with it. Looks like there's one spot where just barely enough of the spline remains to barely grab, and doesn't take much force to skip over it. Unless that's a non driven wheel, then idk what is going on.
Definitely a mechanical nightmare here with a lot of rod knocks and that hydrolocked engine. And there's something seriously wrong when one pad is wearing out that bad. But don't need new pads... 🙄
Could also be worn torque strut. My 2008 ford fusion has a worn torque strut, and this is exactly what happens to me. If it's a FWD, could also be worn tie rod ends.

I'm not a professional mechanic, but I usually do some work on my own vehicle... anyway, from watching a lot of these videos, I can say that, basically, there are usually some internal engine components that get damaged beyond repair when an engine hydrolocks, and those components can usually be replaced, but it's easier and possibly sometimes cheaper to replace the whole engine
I am a professional mechanic and 100% that engine is junk whether you replace or rebuild it is up to you but the piston rods will be bent so either way that engine is coming out
You might want to re-upload after adjusting the commentary audio as it's quite a bit lower than the individual clip audio in several scenes, making it very hard to hear. Or just add captions.
At this point used car lots might go away in the near future and dealerships will be selling used cars because they can be trusted to do a through inspection of the car and fix what is needed. These knocking noises are another reason we are seeing more EVs on the road cause you are saving some money right there by getting rid of the gas engine with so many parts.
I had a Chevy Malibu come in because a squirrel got into a fight with the electric fans... It was a case of the 3 piece squirrel causing an overheat by stopping the fan from rotating. By the time they brought in the car the squirrel was furry jerky.

I think that in the US there is a big problem with bad faith in second-hand/used car businesses. Hidden vices taken to the next level and unsuspecting people buying cars with good looks but terrible problems. The "Carl and sons used cars" topic is very real these days.
@@ReadTheShrill These things also happen in Spain, but not in such a blatant way due to the high regulation of the sector..... and everything in general. Here, there is an obligation to pass a general safety test called "ITV" annually if you want your car to continue driving. In addition, you must have the verification sticker on the dashboard in view of the police. And not passing it implies that the vehicle will be declared in the "DGT" as not suitable for circulation. Not wearing that sticker or having it expired means the immediate immobilization of the vehicle and a penalty.
@@FSHerrante This applies to many states in the US as well. Mainly the ones that see snow in the winter, because they rust easily from the salt on the roads.
rear brakes often have that, before they invented parking brakes actuated by electric motor mechanisms. the drum brake would act as parking brake, the other, well. :)
Modern parking brakes that are not electric use the rear calipers activated by a mechanical cable and you have to screw the caliper piston back in when doing a brake job. This is so you can also use it to slow down in an emergency situation. Electric parking brakes are garbage and just another reason I'll never buy a new car.
3:22 whoever balanced this wheel needs to be taught how to adjust the machine properly, and then what balancing actually is. once you understood this, mistakes like these won't happen again, because you see somethign isn't going right. in my days at the workshops I have seen wheels that were balanced every switch to winter/summer, but they never removed the old weights, so there were up to five different weights on the wheel. extra points if a new tyre was installed...
