Great demo as ever Jim. I just played a gig with one of these guitars, great tuning and tone, so comfortable, very impressed. I do prefer the maple fretboard to the rosewood, a lot more snap to it. 3 gigs in, this thing absolutely sings, the humbucker is the best I think I've ever played, but unfortunately doesn't really suit our country/pop band songs, an alnico option would be even better. The black fret dots also disappear on a dark stage. Swapped mine for a 2016 Stingray with the plain maple neck - loving it !!
Just placed my order! This review had a lot to do with the purchase. Great playing. Never played a a Music Man... but man I am really looking forward to this axe! I got the Vintage Turquoise wit maple neck.
So Amazing. I'm a fender strat guy. Still have my 1995 Am Std with swimming pool and all and love it. I had upgrade it slowly thru the over 25 years with me with Stainless Steel Frets, locking Tuners, Callaham Steel Block and Dimarzio Pickups. I see this Music man and I saw Oh My, there is nothing I have to do to it. The neck radius is even very close to my Fender although I know the profile is very different. If there is a guitar I would by right now would be this one.
I have both: the cutlass HSS and different Fender Strats (two from 1996). I can tell you that you have to do something with the cutlass if you're looking for the real 'strat' sound. Cutlass is much thinner soundwise
@@puraskritgurung5672 he's stating his opinions as objective fact. it all comes down to what you're playing and what you prefer. i personally detest neck humbuckers unless they're wired in parallel. in MY OPINION (your ear may prefer something else) nothing else will do for me on the neck pickup except a single coil. with the buffer and the active components which reduce the old single coil hum in the cutlass rs, i absolutely adore the tone on the neck with the single coil. listen to your own ear and make your own decisions on shit like this. don't let other people tell you what your preferences are.
Yeah, god knows no one's EVER had any success playing a Strat, Tele, LP Special, 'superstrat', early Les Paul, ES-330, Epiphone Casino, Rickenbacker, lipstick Danelectro, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Tele-Sonic, Gretsch...
