It's using reduction gear drive system using chains by the look of it? That sound you hear is from the gear/chain reduction drive, not from the "impeller" itself. If you compare eBike hub drives with conventional centre mounted motor, the sound of hub drive is much quieter, the centre mounted motor produces an induction sound similar to this? Look up Suron electric bikes on RU-vid.... Only belt drives will reduce the drive system noise.

Well, Is your car 4wd with front and rear axles running in counter direction? with monster truck sized wheels stripped of its hub and rubber for a cyclorotor with controls reconfigured to it?
Not every engineers college project is life changing. Its simply part of the learning process. Im sure this person is somewhere and has achieved more than a youtube comment at this point
Incredibly inefficient . A lot of weight to move and it vibrates like crazy. Power consumption will drain batteries before you make it 100 yards. With enough thrust, and vectoring anything will fly.
I'm still trying to work out what other advantages there can be with this design. Variable pitch for a quad copter I can see. energy loss is likely to be high. Noise is definitely louder as mentioned in the comments. Perhaps maintenance or part life span will improve but from the perspective it looks like it may have rotate with either more force or more speed. If there is better redundancy in a blade failing maybe but I feel a quad could fair better. Interesting path but I wonder if there can be anymore lineage for it?
i wonder how efficient the air flow with this model? having the blades on vertical setup will increase air drag, it needs tunnel test to see the air flow
i cant find any type of application that can use this propulsion system .. taking in consideration of the following weight power delivery efficiency seing it works is kind of cool but what is the porpose of it to be designed and on what applications will it be used

Very good work. May I suggest to add a horizontal and vertical "Gyrator" for purpose of adding more stability? Although it looks it is stable but it swings slightly. By devising this Gyrator mechanism that adapts automatically (Horizontally or vertically) under the PID control will make it like a highly stable UFO object - LOL
@@glikar1 I don't think thats how this works, it's called a cyclocopter so according to wikipedia's article on cyclocopters the blades change angle as they spin to produce vertical thrust instead of just cancelling out. My understanding is that in this type blade design only 1 blade per propeller produces upward thrust. While in the traditional quadcopter design all 4 blades produce upward thrust. Would that mean that it is much less efficient? Is that correct?
Very impressive, and could be a usable technology. The first thought that occurred to me was: So now, instead of having 2 whirling blades of decapitation to avoid, now we have 4.

Isn't a lot of our modern technology developments off poorly inefficient designs? This could be developed into something useful. Not sure what and it's beyond me but somebody somewhere has that answer.
사이클로콥터를 오스프리 크기로 만들어서 프로펠러를 원통형에 가둬놓고 원통에 공기가 통하는 구멍도 스텔시하게 개발하고 프로펠러를 더 납작하게 그리고 더 길게 만들어서 스텔스콥터로 개발을 할 수 있을듯. 프로펠러를 완전히 은폐하기 딱 좋은 점이 사이클로콥토의 장점인 듯 하네요.
