Dominion Arms (Norinco) does, the P762 (7.62x25 clone of the SIG P226, 17 rd double stack & etc @ ~ $400 Canadian each). The bad news? You can’t, under any circumstances, legally import one into the states (Chinese Manufacture + SIG IP infringement, as it’s understood). Speaking of, I’d love to see someone work one over good and proper and maybe a tear down comparison to the P226? I truly do wonder what it took to turn a Sig into the P762 and what it would take to replicate (safely/reasonably) down here.

Same here. If the super-cheap ammo had stuck around a little longer, someone here in the US may have tackled it, but it would have taken some work. Unfortunately, it's not an easy conversion for most existing firearms either due to the overall length of the cartridge.

My second handgun ever. Still remember the day I ordered it from Century - girl on the phone told me they were on sale for $169 and came with a spare 9mm barrel. I don’t often shoot it, but I love it and have many great memories blasting 7.62x25 from back when it was insanely cheap. I thought many college buddies how to shoot with it. It’s not delayed, it is roller locked, short recoil. HK made a delayed roller lock gun can’t remember what it’s called and Korth currently makes the PRS which is roller delayed blowback. But the CZ-52 is Short Recoil Roller Locked action. The barrel and slide are locked together by the rollers for the first little bit of travel until the locking block and barrel is stopped and allows the rollers to unlock. I know you know this Eric, but others may not so I thought I’d point it out. I’m a huge CZ fan and the cz52 is one of my favorites EDIT: the HK P9 was true roller delayed action just like an mp5, G3, Cetme, etc. the only currently in production traditional style pistol that uses a true roller delayed blowback action is the Korth PRS 🤤🤤🤤

I think he was confusing it with the G3 that is a roller locked retarded or delayed blow back system. This system was first used militarily by the Germans in WWII.

Bought one when they were first imported many years ago. $100. The decocker sometimes fires the firing pin. Put a pencil in the barrel and see if the pencil is fired when the hammer is decocked. Also, the firing pins are brittle and will break after a few dozen dry fires... I got a steel aftermarket replacement and solved that problem. Also, the 762x25 is a subgun cartridge that is hotter than Hades... I've seen photos of blown CZ-52's that shot the high-pressure PPsh-41 ammo. My solution was to pull the bullets where I found 10-grains of some mystery ball powder inside. I reloaded the cases with ust 7-grains of the stuff, then reseated/crimped the bullets. Pistol still cycles well with the reduced loading and gives piece of mind that you won't lose any fingers. The .30 caliber necked cartridge is powerful! - reminds me of a M1 Carbine round fired from a pistol. It will defeat Level II body armor and I couldn't fire it at the indoor range... the muzzle blast kept blowing out the neon lights over the shooting station. One last trick... you can make brass for this thing from .223 brass. Just cut to length, neck down and lathe the neck to accept the .30 bullet and have fun.

Love it! I still prefer the Tokarev for carrying than the CZ52. The CZ52 is a brilliant, unique and functional gun, but the controls are a lot stiffer, you need more muscle to rack the slide, and there's no bolt release. I bought it because it's not everyday that you see a roller-delayed handgun.

From the internet- The 7.62X25 Tokarev ammo was manufactured in Romania by the plant “21” (Cugir Arsenal), also with the headstamp marking “RPR” (“Republica Populara Romana” in Romanian language, it means “Popular Republic of Romania” until the summer of 1965). The “U.M. Sadu” plant with the code “22” made the same type of ammo in Romania even in early 1980s.

The gun itself was below 100 dollars at the time and we started shooting at poppers not knowing that steel core means it can go through almost anything and of course, it just passed through the poppers like there is nothing. For the record, it is NOT delayed roller blowback (like HK G3 or MP-5), it is a roller-locked gun. The rollers lock the barrel into the slide for a brief period and only when both get back a little it unlocks, the barrel stops and the slide travels alone. Do not confuse it. Otherwise, thanks for a nice video. I've always liked this gun, even though it looks a bit weird, perhaps because I'd got one issued during my military service back in the eighties (CZ-52 began to be replaced with CZ -82 in the then Czechoslovakian army around the year 1982, however it was still in service till the early nineties at least), and I've recently bought one just for fun.

The damn things are indestructible, solid tool steel contruction practically (except for those melted down pot metal firing pins) Anyways, this surplus ammo is pushing anywhere from 1400-1750 fps. That's quite hot, my PPU JHP (btw jhp is quite uncommon to find for these) runs a little north almost reaching 1800fps. Eric you need to show how you can neck down .223 brass for these guns, and see how hot they can get loaded. I heard 2300 fps was achieved once. When buying a CZ-52 look at the top of the slide. you should see ping marks. The more marks, the worse the quality of the gun. The ping marks were placed by the inspectors at time of production. If your gun has no pings, they have been filed off. This was usually done because buyers found out about the ping meaning.

The CZ52 was designed to take 9mm Para but the Russians put a stop to it and it had to be produced in 7.62TT. This creates the problem that the Tokarev round produces more pressure than the 9mm hence the pistol is prone to have the slide crack just under the shell ejection port. My gunshop in Prague showed me a whole box full of used surplus CZ52s that had the cracked slide. Some damage was so bad that the shooter must have had his hand injured for certain. Might be a good idea to stay away from the loads that are on the strong side.

After he says “yeah man” around 4:00 if you look closely to the left of the 2 liter you can see the bullet travel in front of the foliage

Bought one for my wife 12years ago for 225 bucks with 250rds. First time she fired it it double tapped, she dropped it and it fired again. Love the velocity in a more accurate firearm

Dude it wasn't fall out up here in Missouri. Its deer season and even if I was off work I would have had a hard time getting to where I hunt because of the snow and ice getting into that part of my buddies property. Great video guys, keep it up.

Last time I had my CZ52 out, I ended up having to reshape the original magazine floorplate, which decided to just pop off and let the ammo dump out on the ground. That's what may eventually happen when you use the magazine to remove the barrel.

Great little gun I had one a few years ago but you definitely have to upgrade that firing pin because that 7.62 x.25 ammo is hot and it will snap it

I have found a snap ring pliers to be helpful in getting the rollers in the correct position while reassembling mine.

The first cz 52 I had was only 189 bucks and came with 4 magazines and both barrels the 7.62 and 9mm. Have had a fee of them and want to get another for my collection.

Great gun. I like it better than the Tokerov. But we now have the 357 Sig in a good selection of pistols and ammo. It's a larger caliber with heavier modern bullets. If you want high velocity in the 357 Sig, Double Tap makes cartridges with velocities around 1600 fps. Also try Buffalo Bore. Texas DPS, Secret Service, Sky Marshals, Pennsylvania Department of Game and others use the 357 Sig. Partizan makes a hollow point for the Tokerov, but I haven't seen anything on the performance.

CZ52 is not delayed blow back. It is locked by rollers with short recoil.Another pistol with rollers is Korth pistol.
