VZ24's are noice rifles! I have two with the lion crests. And one of them has a Romanian stock and handgaurd. The ONLY complaint I have about it is the wrist sling loop hurts my hand (as a left-handed shooter) after a few shots. I wear gloves, and that helps a bit. About the handgaurd, I have one that is glued together, at the front, where it meets the ring of the receiver. It's held up ever since. But that's if you use the right glue. Don't use gorilla glue, I swear it never works. I use the super glue that comes in those small capsules. It's clear and works fast. If you find some, WARNING, it's very strong and will stick to whatever it touches. Just watch your fingers, tools, and glasses (yeah... I did 😅) cause it's very hard to remove. It's a Great looking rifle. Don't feel too bad about the bore. My 1st was a shot out Spanish mauser, whoops lol.
Nice video! Those are the kind of groups I've been getting with my Czech BRNO post-war Mauser. I keep telling myself I just haven't figured the rifle out yet, but I'm getting a little disappointed, it's such a nice rifle. The bore looks good to my eyes, but I haven't had it bore scoped. I have no reason to think it has a high round count, but I don't know its history, just that it came from my dad. So I'll try a few more things before I declare it a 50-yarder.
