Je suis desolé que je peux pas encore répondre en Occitan... Mais j'ai trouvé ta vidéo trés interessante! La diversité de tes lectures est vraiment impressionante et tous les livres ont quelque chose de captivant. C'est pas facile de rassembler tout de suite ma liste de livres preferés, mais parmis mes auteurs preferés se trouvent Jules Verne, Erich Maria Remarque, Philip K. Dick, Victor Ion Popa, Radu Tudoran, Patrick O'Brian... Merci et à la prochaine! Salutations de Roumanie!

Que c'est bon d'écouter cette magnifique langue qu'est l'occitan. Il devient urgent et d'utilité publique de rendre co-officielles toutes les langues ethniques de France. Merci

La France ne reconnaît pas d'ethnies en France. Et la plupart de ces ethnies ont perdu leur identité ethnique, ont oublié la langue de leurs ancêtres, se sont complètement francisées. Rendre officielles les langues que plus personne ne parle ? La plupart d'entre elles (je suis sûr que tu fais passer les dialectes pour des langues) n'ont même pas de norme littéraire, aucune tradition écrite.

@@floquet-de-civada C'est complètement faux, renseignez-vous... Vous ne connaissez visiblement rien au sujet des langues régionales de France et à leur histoire, ni même à la linguistique d'une façon générale...

Votre phrase "La plupart d'entre elles (je suis sûr que tu fais passer les dialectes pour des langues) " sonne comique de la part de qn qui dit avoir un master en linguistique... Sans parler de votre ignorance sur l'histoire des langues de France : "langues que plus personne ne parle", "pas de norme littéraire, "aucune tradition écrite"... n'importe quoi... renseignez-vous avant d'écrire des sottises. Le boulot d'un linguiste est de décrire les langues comme elles sont, pas de juger ces langues ou leurs locuteurs, et a fortiori les juger sans rien savoir d'eux...

@@gerald4013 Déjà, vous ne savez même pas de quels dialectes je parle... Dans mon commentaire, je n'ai cité aucun dialecte. Par exemple, le niçois (niçard/nissart) n'est pas une langue, mais un dialecte de l'occitan (ce dernier n'est pas un dialecte du français, mais une langue à part entière avec ses dialectes) et l'ethnie niçoise n'existe pas.

Become a separate country: Occitania. Get rid of French and start promoting this language more. However, not sure if one dialect will be chosen as the standard, or if a koine Standard will be created, combining all elements of all dialects together

@@seid3366 No thank you. What you idiotic French hater do not understand is that Occitany is a part of France. France and Occitany are not two separate entities. France is the addition of all its different regions including this one. France will remain one and united. I am from the south too and the independentists are a small minority. A small minority of clowns. So please mind your business.

@@mmdbg4580 «Occitània is a part of France», tell that good one to the Occitan people in eth Val d’Aran or in las Valadas Ocitanas, they’ll be pretty surprise to learn they’re part of France lol. France is not the addition of all cultures on its territory. France is destroying every non-parisian culture in a violent way for centuries now. France forbade my elders to speak their language and practise their own culture, and has forced them to learn and only use «French», which is basically just the vernacular language of Île-de-France and Paris. And that’s true for me as an Occitan, but also for oïl, breton, basque, catalan, corsican, overseas languages etc… France is not the addition of all its culture, France is the institution that kills dozens of cultures and languages in order to spread its parisiano-centric language, culture, and values of «unicity of the nation». Simply disgusting.

@@seid3366 Seriosament? Avem pas besonh de destruire la varietat dialectala de nòstra lenga per la far viure… Quò seriá mai la tuar. Parlo una varietat occitana ben en perilh, qu’es una varianta vivaresa dau vivaro-aupenc : lo valentinés (l’occitan de la region de Valença). E ai pas enveia que ma lenga mòre, e quelos que vòlon far desparéisser mon parlar per d’autras parlars d’òc son tant mos enemics que quelos que vòlon far desparéisser l’occitan per lo françés.

En ce moment, je lis "La Vérité sur l'Affaire Harry Quebert" à la fois en français, catalan et espagnol pour apprendre ces deux dernières langues. J'ai également acheté à Barcelone "Le Spleen de Paris" (L'Spleen de París) de Charles Baudelaire en catalan et français pour apprendre le catalan.

Bravo pour cette vidéo en occitan : de mon côté le livre qui m ´a le plus marqué quand j’étais jeune c’était la trilogie des souvenirs d’enfance de Marcel Pagnol (la gloire de mon père , le château de ma mère...) car j’arrivais à m’identifier plus facilement au personnage que dans d’autres livres pour la simple raison que je vivais dans le même univers ( seulement à huit kilomètres du village de La Treille.) J’aimerais tant pouvoir parler et écrire en provençal !

Hola. Hace dos años visité Vielha, en la Val d' Aran y disfruté de la cultura y su gente. Estoy muy interesado en aprender la variante aranesa y la propia lengua occitana, por lo que espero que sigas subiendo contenido para difundir y enseñar la lengua. Hello Gabrieu, new subscriber here! I am Romanian, and also speak well French and English, less well Italian and Spanish, and also to a certain extent other languages like Russian, Greek etc. I just watched the other day the Ecolinguist video which featured you, and I was really impressed how well I understood Occitan, even though I had never heard it before. In fact I "got" the 5 words before any of the other 3 participants did, some even before you had finished explaining them. It turns out, in some ways Occitan is really close to Romanian, especially in vocabulary. There are many words in Romanian which clearly have a Latin root, but so far I had considered them to have evolved in a different way compared to all of the other Romance languages - until I was shocked to find them in Occitan in an identical form. :) Take "Ieu" for example: the Romanian literary spelling is "Eu" but in the spoken language it takes an initial "i" like "Ieu". And many, many other examples as well - I'm still discovering the similarities because I have just started learning Occitan with you. And a funny story. When I was a student in Paris in the 1990s, many people were asking me if I am from Carcassonne. That's because I speak well the literary French, but I have difficulty pronouncing the uvular "r" and often roll my Rs. I do plan on visiting Carcassonne one day, and now I think it would be nice if I could speak to the local people in their language when I do. :)

Pichon, aviáu legit "le monde perdu" de Conan Doyle per amor dei dinosaures. Recentament o trapère tradusit en occitan, ansin o tornère legir e es ben, risolièr, aisit amb segur d'aventuras e de dinosaures. L'aconsèlhe e te merceja per tei vidèos (qu'a despart dau Princilhon n'ai pas ren legit de tot aquò) !

I am so interested in learning Occitan from you, sir! I already have a background in French, Italian, and Spanish. Can you pls reply as to how I can do this? When I first heard the way you speak Occitan, I fell in love with it and would even skip learning Catalan first and perhaps kill 2 birds with 1 stone by going with Occitan, your version of it. :)

Aquí en España el dialecto gascón de este idioma es oficial en un valle, creo que hay una manera de comunicarse con el gobierno de Cataluña para que te ayude y te preste la información necesaria. Hay clases en línea, pero creo que son de pago.

El dialecto aranés es de hecho un subdialecto del gascón, con algunos rasgos conservadores al haberse desarrollado en un lugar geográficamente aislado, pero también a día de hoy muy influenciado por el castellano y el catalán. Es un dialecto precioso, pero en mi opinión bastante alejado de las variedades más estándard que se ofrecen en este canal.

No there are a lot but I started reading them pretty late in my life so there are not represented in this list. However if you want to read good litterature in occitan I recomand "La Santa Estela del Centenari" by Joan Bodon and "Verd Paradís" by Max Roqueta

@@santiglot Actually there is a literary renewal and there are more publications now than before. Those I mentioned are considered modern classics and they've been written in the 60/70's.
