same here..3 weeks ago i was having spark blow out and did the hondata cpr kit and it runs like a champ now with no mis fire

Patryk Kozanecki with a standard length D16 Rod the Vitara pistons in the d15b and that Turbo you should be spooled up pretty quickly. I don't see full Boost until 6100 but my Turbo is much bigger than yours

They are just cast pistons, the pistons are chep but are capable of making big power. As far as i know the still hold the record for the d16 motor.

Well u obviously know what you are doing. But you have all high dollar brand name parts for internals then cast pistons on high boost... U obviously could afford forged but like to play with fire risking that bad ass engine u built... In my oppinion. What are the specs on the pistons that you put so much faith in. Sry I'm not trying to be smart and have much respect for u.... Im genuinely curious

Jayspassion you wont lose compression unless you modify the combustion camber. Also i have the required porting bits to do the job but you can make more than 400whp whit the stock ports

AEM, you should set it at zero your tuner should be adjusting the gear as necessary

@@hatchbackturbo93 referring to the bottom mark that lines up with the plastic cover ..is yours directly on the Arrow ?

There is two sets of Marks One Solo Mark and then three marks it should be on the solo mark but it won't be perfect

@@hatchbackturbo93 strange I dont have a solo mark ..just one set of 2 lines and one set of 3 lines ..and i assume the 3 lines are the ignition marks ..but I set the crank pulley to the 2 marks ..but don't know if I should set the aem cam gear lower mark directly on the arrow or passed it on the upper timing cover ..do you have a email so i can show you better ?

Carlo's Carlos I Lira is it obd1 or obd2? Sounds like you have an obd1 motor and are using head studs for a d16y8(obd2) you need studs for a d16z6

Dont just back the studs out enough to get the nuts on or you will pull the threads out of the block.

D-Serious d16 rods in a d15 block? With a d15 crank?

jevvy boss yes but only with the jdm d15b. It uses standard D15 main bearings and standard D16 rod bearings. The d15b uses a different piston than any other d-series motor and the difference is the PIN height of the piston. The stock D15B rod is actually the same as a d16z6 rod. the Vitara Pistons also have a different pin height then any other dseries piston. when used they normally sit 2.6mm below deck height so the extra length of the 1.6 rod (3mm) with the Vitara piston makes the piston almost the correct height it actually sticks out of the block .5 mm

jevvy boss this is why vitara piston setups have such low compression 7.2.1 ect... This setup im running should net a 8.8.1 compression ratio, that's with me using .50 mm head gasket rather than a .30 standard gasket

jose perez i purchased my rods and pistons from speedfactory but there all over ebay. And yes it is basically the same motor as the d16z6 and d16y8 depending on whether you have an OBD1 or an OBD2 motor

have the d15b VTEC turbo 9 psi but want more power have Garrett 42 is to small how much you paid for the piston

Team Poko the motor is a OBD1 d15b so the head is basically a D16Z6 head without an EGR port. I use a cometic c4251 .51 with this setup. Any Z6 head gasket would work fine

hatchbackturbo93 thanks buddy because im also building a d15b for boost and a friend of mine told me the deck is shorter on the d15b so i would need a thicker head gasket he said ive been having a hard time getting answers also i know for our engines the rod bearings are for d16 so washer and block bearing should be d15z1? thank you buddy

Team Poko yes D15 Z1 Main and thrust washers and D16 rod bearings. The gasket i use is .5mm thicker than stock which is what a vitara piston with a std lenth d16 rod (137mm) protrudes over deck height.

Team Poko the block is the same as any D15 block the difference is the crank stroke on the d15b is the same as a D16 the d15b uses a completely different piston than any other motor

Bianca Lentz yea 10.5 @140 is pretty weak...

It's probably boost by gear, which means it doesn't get full boost until 3rd or 4th gear hence why the pull doesn't look too aggressive.

Also have to remember this is a d series trans gears are much longer. My 3rd goes almost as fast as a b series 4th
