BTW, that fitting on the pipe plumbed to the manifold pipe should be NPT thread. Should be able to run a pipe plug in it. Maybe $2 at the hardware store.
Yes, I have a 1986.5, 4x4 with a VG30i that my grandfather bought brand new and became mine in 2009. I have to smog test it every two years. Fresh and clean California style!!!
i know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I love any tricks you can give me
@Lorenzo Anthony i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Here in northern utah, we used to have tailpipe tests. But as of next year, all testing will be done through OBD2. Which gives a free pass to anything 1995 and older.
Maaan the only videos i wait for u guys help me alot with mi 89 hardbody please please film when u go turbo thats what im going with mine i know how to do most of the stuff but i rather see it done with the same engine asmine and watch someone who knows what their doing is best. Thanks alot beothaas. Saludos de Morelia Michoacan.!!!
i got a 93' and a turbo off a 3.8l isuzu. I'm gonna try to do mine. I'm gonne try to fab it myself, and have it professionally welded. Gonna get a good fuel pump, retard the timing, change out the injectors, and try to use the factory isuzu bov. Eventually, I wanna tubeframe the front, get a good turbo, and rebuild the whole bottom with race car parts. Edit: I'll probably have to get a standalone engine management and a whole host of sensors at some point.
here in NC, all that emissions stuff DOES have to be in place for the yearly vehicle inspection. its 35 years out that a vehicle doesn't even have to be inspected anymore.
previous owner did this on the hardbody I just got, including cutting the pipe instead of un-threading it now I have to undo it somehow to pass emissions
I've watched a few of your videos because it was something I was interested in and holy crap, you guys are 100% hacks. The rear disc brakes was the last video I watched and the fact you had no clue how to remove the brake shoes was the last straw...I truly and honestly hope nobody follows your advice. The first video I saw was your upper control arm replacement....you guys do not need to post any mechanical advice videos. You will get someone injured or killed.....hacks
haynes repair manual will have all the info you need for nissan/datsun 1980 thru 1997 pickups i just got one for my hardbody. ill admit i didnt think it would have as much info as it does. it has step by step for everthing to do with the hardbody
@@LocalLosers520 im just getting into my hardbody my buddy sold it to me for $ 50 got it running and decided im doing a full rebuild on the motor any pointers for getting more power out of this pickup aside from deleting emissions and ac
@@LocalLosers520 im thinking about getting a suitable turbo i work at a wrecking yard so finding a turbo wont be hard im in for the long run im thinking about getting a new cam budget is ideal but ill take power over cost anyday
Yes you need to do emissions testing on older vehicles unless they have historic plates, then they are exempt from emissions testing. I live in Phoenix Arizona and drive a '92 Hardbody
@@LocalLosers520 no, I think to have a historic vehicle it can't be your daily driver, you're limited to how many miles you can put on it every year. My HB is a 4x4, all stock except for aftermarket intake and header. I want to remove the EGR, but don't know if I'll still pass emissions... I really enjoy your videos on RU-vid and also follow you on Instagram now. Keep up the great work!
Also if you don't turbo one and want some more power can order set of injectors from a stanza they're 3 holes and more psi like 80.00 on eBay new with the plug adapters to keep from cutting factory harness and then header an think it's pci chip to wire into air intake temp sensor goes into air filter and those 3 will wake the little truck up alot made a world of difference in my 96, 95 and my 94 as well my 97 hardbody.
My hardbody is a 1990 and it just passed emissions testing two months ago, live here in Nevada. I could register it under a classic but I'd have to unplug my speed sensor on the transmission to do so
I live in Cali.. we don't have to smog test (emissions test) anything from 74 or earlier I believe, and I think it's anything 95 or earlier for diesel engines, but that's just off the top of my head. I'm here to see if I can make a removable emissions package that can be "plugged back in" for smog check
@@LocalLosers520 thank youuu... I'm halfway into an automatic to manual swap and I decided I needed to do a smooth dash swap, because its taken off for the clutch pedal install 😤🤦♂️ I watch all your videos for inspiration and to not get burnt out
Love the video series of what you're doing with the truck! At about the 1:35 mark you mention the wire for setting up your tach. I have a '91 KA24E / 5-sped with 340,xxx miles. Speed/odometer don't work so I bought a cluster from a 93 that includes a tach (my 91 didn't have it and i really wanted the tach) but no one around where I live seems to know how the signal gets from the engine to the tach. I'm being quoted some pretty high costs for estimates on installing and connecting it. Any more advice on this you can share? Thanks!
Your truck should have the wiring for the tach even though it didn't come with a tach needle/display. Just remove the cluster and look around for the socket plug that is probably zip tied away from factory and plug it in. No wiring is needed unless you bought a cluster from a v6 engine.
Next time take a bigger wrench 6 point you don't use much or have double and the round end drill a hole and put a bolt in the side of the round part of the wrench and then you can put bigger wrench on small bolts and rounded bolts and tighten bolt on wrench it'll tighten wrench onto the bolt or nut that's stripped and you'll easily remove it. And it'll be multi purpose wrench small or big size🤘
Instead of putting a nickle in there, does Nissan sell a bolt that fits that hole in the exhaust? That diaphragm-looking thing just feeds outside air into the exhaust, to eliminate some NO2, or something like that, once the engine gets hot. I'm guessing I could probably find something at Home Depot in the metric section. "It's exhaust, who gives a crap?" LOL. Right on!
Yeah i just bought a clapped out 88 hardbody and it passed smog probably cause the exhust pipe rusted off of the cat sounds like a tin can rattling constantly 🤣
Here in the GREAT state of California pre smog is 1975 and before. It sucks, otherwise I’d be doing the same emissions delete on my 97’ 4x4 hardbody. They always run better without any of that junk choking the motor.
i have a 1987 nissan hardbody diesel with 444500 KM ? on it are there any sites that have info on them ?all i see is gas motors.would appreciate a link if possible .thanks.
I am the second owner of a 1994 D21, automatic, 2.4L. It is a "California Emissions" truck but was never in California, only Ohio. (No emission testing in Ohio) My question: what is the reason for deleting all these parts? More power? better or worse MPG? Extra space for your Turbo (I don't want a turbo). The automatic has no real acceleration, but I also have a 1996 5-speed D21; I can lay rubber in 1st gear, but I never do. The 1996 doesn't have those cannisters, hoses, chrome exhaust pipe, round cookie thing... on the driver's side. No small beer can-ister on the passenger side. What is the end result of "emissions delete?"
@@LocalLosers520 Yes, just watched (wasted my time on) Part 2 a second time. Other than "feeding horses, your bald head scratches, texting your girl friend, bad video, bad lighting, NOTHING was mentioned about the advantages of 'emissions delete.' Did you read my words, 'don't want a turbo' . I admit you are a good mechanic, but you are not a good teacher or explainer. Your camera is a hummingbird that never looks at the hose, the "spider web of hoses," the "thingy," the actual subject. YOU COULD HAVE written the advantages here, but instead took only a second to be condescending, "did you watch Part 2?" Of course, as an experienced D21 owner, I watched part 2 before asking my questions.
I had a guy put a header on and the bottom bolt was out and oil was coming out of the hole I didn’t know if you guys could let me know if he could’ve busted something in the head and it started burning oil
We have emissions in Pa, but if you stay under 5k miles per year, you're exempt. So uh, some of us just unplug their speed sender after 4500 miles every year lol.
@@LocalLosers520 My bad. The fpr intake. I saw the video where you say they will stay open if you in hook the whachamacall it 😂 but never saw or heard you guys do it.
