Hi mate love watching your videos and will be eagerly awaiting for you to start working on the old d9 that will be great I love watching all of your videos keep em coming
Great video Jeff the yards looking better. Looking forward to your next video working on the D9 before the snow flies. Thanks for sharing stay safe Jeff, Mrs.Paydirt and Mr Griffy.
Had problems with critters getting in underneath the mobile home we lived in years ago.Bought some boxes of moth balls opened up the skirting and threw handfuls in at different places.Did that a couple or more times a year. They didn't like the smell thus ended the problem.Try it Jeff could be the solution.
Couldn’t you just leave Mr Griffy in the cab of the dozer overnight to deal with the raccoon ? But being a Corgi you’d probably find him next morning weeping, hogtied and looking worse for wear. Cheers mate.
The live traps may be an easy way to go, but with so many pieces of equipment an odor determent might be better. Ammonia, Peppermint Oil, Vinegar, Onions, Garlic and Epsom Salt, but I'd stay away from any salt around already rusty equipment. While working for an equipment rental company we used Peppermint oil in the enclosed cabs. Plus most guys appreciated the smell in the cab.
Regarding the dozer you pl an on rebuilding.. I know they are probably rusted tight, but why not drop the whole ripper bracket off of the back of the machine? You’ve already got the hydro mess disassembled. Then you don’t have to worry about that extra 6-7 feet of space and it’s that much lighter to push around and eventually put up on the OSHA disapproved blocks.
In a future video could you explain your goals for your 3x D9s? Your original one is set up with a U blade and 3 shank ripper, how about the other two? Straight blade, single ripper, tile plow... ???
Go down to the tire shop that does AG tires and have them save you the tracks off of rubber track farm equipment you can cut that in half and stretch it out to run in there on that'll be a lot better than conveyor belt and it's free I have one at my house
Hi Jeff never had anything to do with racoons I thought wombats were a pain at least they are too fat and lazy to climb in a machine they just dig big holes so you can fall in them and break your neck LOL !!
Wombats will dig your house up if they want to. People who think they are cute and everything else haven’t had one move under the house yet. They are the D9 of the animal world and don’t go round anything.
Find a guy has some old mini excavator or skidsteer tracks cut them in 2 and lay out to track on concrete. They work awesome not tearing it up and the steel in them the cleats wont cut thru. Most people give them to you to get rid of a wore out set
Raccoons or destructive, nasty and can be aggressive. They also can be rabies carriers.. They crap on anything. They can probably lay bigger turds than griff. I had one here at the farm that had young ones. I stepped outside to shoo her off and she stood up on her hind legs like a bear and had a vicious growl. Not long after that, they got treed in a pecan tree and driving the dogs mad. I took care of them right away. I still have one that shows up on the camera. Right now it’s all hands on for squirrels. Never had this many and I’ve gotta take care of them asap. They can haul off hundreds of pecans from our orchard and it’s almost time for nut hulls to open up. Did catch one skunk last week. It’s caddy shack time. That little trap you have is good for skunks and squirrels. It’s small enough the skunk can’t raise its tail to spray.
To remove the pins on the ripper what about using a mag drill and tapping for 3/4 all-thread and using a porta-power to try to pull the pins. just a thought.
@@Jpaydirt Yes Sir, I did. What I was thinking is by drilling out the grease port and using it you could keep every thing in line on the pull to reduce binding. It would also give you a large hole for the oxy-lance if it did not work. Either way best of luck getting them out.
Thanks for Sharing. Those critters can reek havoc on a machine. Isn't this 9 the last one you got, I think CA or N.East. somewhere? What's wrong with it, sounds strong. Or just waiting for your magic? TGP
