Also, I like how, with this meaning, her name is fitting for her. True to her name, she has an eternal bond with pheonix, mia, her mother Morgan, and all of her crime, and of course in the end, her conscious's eternal suffering of loosing to mia and wright. Yet she is known for anything but breaking those bonds she had ever made. In fact, non of her eternal bonds are pleasant ones. Her mother had essentially abandoned her, she lost pheonix love and trust, ended life of Fawles who was only one who believed and loved her, even in his death, she made mia(her cousin sister) an enemy, blinded godot by trying to kill him(unintentionally making him blame himself for not protecting mia), even the last one who actually cared for her, her sister Iris, ended up conspiring against her because of her acts. Every other relation she had made ended in the partner's death. Literally everything she does is against human moral, and sometimes even against human instinct. She committed her first direct murder at age 19,making her youngest criminal we face in Ace Attorney. Also, I kind of forgot about it but out of all the available cases in original trilogy,chronologically, she is the first criminal (that we know of) that pheonix met, and the last one(in her spirit form) that had deliberately done a crime without being blinded by any feeling like godot, who was blinded in hate.

I played Town of Salem and called myself Dahlia Hawthorne, guess what role I got. Serial Killer. I NEARLY killed everyone before they figured me out and hung me. The last words I said was: "I'm going to spend a little quality time with the men in blue now. I wish you all the best :)" Only ONE person got the reference, now whenever I play this theme I always see myself in Dahlia. Probably the best criminal I have ever seen in a game

+KatQueen Reminds me of my last ex from quite some time ago, who was quite humorously just as bad as poison itself. What's even more funny is the fact that I was too naive to even know that let the suffering just continue on unaware of just how bad the circumstances were and what they were doing to me as a person. I played this game a few months after the break up(when I started becoming more opinionated and tried to resolve things in an equal manner rather than her getting her wishes fulfilled without any objections), and it quite frankly resonated with me on several emotional levels and ended up being the thing to mend part of my bitter, acidic, black heart. When someone seems sweet and innocent... I tend not to believe it anymore. In fact I suspected Dahlia as soon as she appeared in the first case due to my past relationship. I immediately hated her. Just as Dahlia would have done anything to get what she wanted, the same goes for my ex. In fact, now that I think about it, if the circumstances were the same as in the game... she most likely would have attempted to poison me. I really liked Iris though... she was kind of that "redeeming" factor for me emotionally. She was the manifestation of a... "proof" of sorts. Proof that perhaps I shouldn't be so bitter and that I should give other girls a chance. Proof that not everyone is twisted and cruel. I'm in no rush to find anyone by any means, and don't see it happening for the next few years, but if someone can provide evidence that they're who they claim to be... then I just might let go of my bitterness. Perhaps I'll find someone to be the milk that purifies my coffee.
brummfahrer Actually, its all figurative. Godot refers to his defeat as the milk stirred in coffee. His black bitterness was purified by Wright's optimism and truth.

The way he likes it isn't important, as its all figurative for his current emotional and psychological state. Dark and bitter. Harboring hate and grief that couldn't be quelled UNTIL the final trial. Considering that his coffee preference was metaphorical in nature, one can't be sure of his current preference after his bitter darkness dissipated. He took his revenge, and he was given closure upon the realization that Mia lives on in Wright. Thus the "milk" was poured, stirred, and consumed.

"Distant Traces of Beauty" I think it represents Pheonix's misinterpretation of love when Dahlia gave him the bottle necklace. I believe this because since Dahlia gave him the necklace, he thought that they were meant to be and showed it to everyone. Then later as he learned of her crimes, he still kept that memory of her which is now a distant memory of what dahlia was on the outside, which results in it being a Distant Trace of Beauty
"Nick" is a fa***ot. There's an earthquake on the snowy mounts and the f***got worries for Edgefag***ot instead of Maya. Also, what's up with the patch on his head that Ema has as well? He never makes references of Ema. And the directors preferred Investigations to be with that edgefaggo*** instead of Ema. Fucking sell-outs, man, jajajja.... and fagg***ots.
The first time I saw a pic of her was before I played the game and I stupidly thought "oh pretty she must be nice". Needless to say once I finished T&T my opinions about her changed into "OH GOD NO GET HER AWAY"
In a chronological timeline for the first 3 games, if you think about it, Dahlia was the main villain of the entire trilogy. We just didn't see her until the first game. Edit: I meant that we didn’t see her until the Third game, not first lol!

"You disgust me!!" For such a simple line, I loved her change in attitude. It felt much more satsfying to make her confess after her personality did that u-turn.
She's kind of like Kefka. Tha first time you see her you think she's going to be your typical minor villain until you feel something isn't quite right with her after her breakdown. Then she just ruins everyone's lives and ends up being one of the most evil beings you can imagine.
Hmm, not sure i'd think that even though i can understand your point. The thing with Dahlia is the inner conflict she casually casts upon people ; the first time one sees her, they can guess or not she's a villain but her appearance and demeanor contradict that fact so much it can affect one's life in the game when they have to make a choice between feelings and logic. Kefka, on the other hand, is established pretty soon as a fool villain. He just lacks the power and influence to actually realize his goals which the game makes a point to fix as the story goes on. Shows no matter how negligible someone can be, they can always become the apocalypse itself giving they get their hands on the means.
When I first heard this song, it stood out for being so peaceful and slow-moving for a PW theme. Then, when Phoenix and Mia are listing all the ways Dahlia failed up to that point, we still have the same song but it felt so mournful. Because evil can be cruel and violent and dangerous but it can also be pathetic.

God, I love her theme so much, for me it just radiates this aura that something is going horribly wrong, but no one else notices and so there's nothing you can do about it.
Never before in a video game have I come across a character so sinister and evil. She makes characters that are even more fictional than her, such as Bowser or Ganondorf, look harmless and nice. It just goes to show that the greatest evil of all can exist here in the real world.
How can you compare this psycopath to fucking Bowser who although a big bully still has a heart, and is actually capable of loving and caring. Like its not even the same league

Even though Manfred von Karma and Matt Engarde are on my personal shitlist, no one, and I mean no other person like Dahlia Hawthrone can even come close to the being the most unforgiveable person in Ace Attorney
Yes, there are. Her first name. Dahlia is traditionally a flower that symbolizes doom and brings bad omens, yet has some of the prettiest blooms in existence. Also, "Lia" in Italian means rose. Therefore, when her name is said phonetically, it means The Rose Has Thorns. A fitting description, no?
She's my favorite villain ever. Mia and Phoenix worked well to take her down. Served her right. But I still love her character... And now I'm crying from nostalgia. Thanks a lot game...
That's a different kind of villain, and a different kind of well written. Sometimes, you want a villain who is actually pure evil. No fluff, no goofiness, someone you can straight up detest.
***** Yeah, kinda like that. Also he tazed you to steal evidence that would incriminate him and then disposed of it, just to top it all off. Only Franciscka Von Karma is there to remind you that you still owe due respect for Manfred in any way. It's a miracle she turned out as well as she did. I kinda feel like Dahlia is more easily despised because she uses manipulation to get what she wants and hides behind an unbearable sickly sweet façade. She disgustingly squirms out of situations where she should have been given the chair, mostly due to prosecutors interference than any actual talent of her own. And then when she is beyond caring or beyond harming she is arrogant beyond words, actively taunting not just Phoenix but everyone in the court room, flouting the justice system in which she stands, which contrasts with every principle that the game has taught you, bringing scumbags to justice. She is impossible not to loathe. Just look at the comment section of his video. She is seen as the Satan of this franchise, an actual demon. And that's why she is such a fantastic villain.
Well there's Redd White too. They kind of worked hand-in-hand, even if indirectly. He got her revenge against Mia and dealt Phoenix a huge blow in so doing.
How creepy it'd be if that animation of her looking to the side in 3-1 (oh how that is so unsettling) would be shown... Yea, as evil and twisted as she is, you gotta appreciate how she is in terms of a character -- her evil, psychotic nature was an excellent device by the developers.
When I listen to this all I feel is sinister uncomfort. Not the kind of uncomfort that you can eventually get out of if you wait long enough. It's the kind of uncomfort where you're waiting because you know it's going to end badly and nothing can stop it. It sort of reminds me of the thought of waiting for your death. The words "You have 15 minutes left." It shakes me up, it makes me think about life, I feel as if a dark cloud comes over me; just cold and sharp like a knife going through me. Yet I know it's coming. But how is it coming here? What is going to happen to me? What is going to happen to everyone else? That uncomfort. That feeling has been incarnated into this song, and paired with her sprite, everything seems so wrong with this beautiful girl. But what are you gonna do about it? All you can do is wait for the song to end, and come to grips that you're now in the same room with this despicable human being. Sinister uncomfort. And that's why I hate Dahlia Hawthorne. Or it's probably the fact that when I was young I was so scared of her that when I woke up in BROAD DAYLIGHT I still hid under the covers in my room. The scariest one and a half hours in my life. Fuck you, Dahlia.
I feel the so g brings kind of a sad, tragic undertone to it, kind of embodying the unfortunate, warped soul before us, and the destruction that had been inflicted to so many lives throughout her story.
***** Yep, two actual murders, three atempted murders, one faked kidnapping for ransom, one provoked suicide. Not to mention tons of deception(not that i'm the one to judge her for the last one). Also all of her multiple crimes were premeditated, except poor Swallow, which is not something you can say for most characters.

I admit, you may be wright about Valerie, This one might not have been premeditated. But all others where. She did not manage to kill Diego, Phoenix or Maya, true. But does it make her any less evil? Does it change the fact that she clearly intended to murder all three of them? she did not change her mind, she intended to do it, and did not only because something had stopped her. You say that Miles was as guilty as Dahlia when it came to Terry, but that's not even remotely true. Miles intended Terry legally executed, because he believed him to be guilty of murder of Valerie and atempted murder of Dahlia, he legally fought for the guilty verdict, because that was his job as a prosecutor, yet he never wanted terry to die the way he did, nor he knew that case might actually end in suicide. Dahlia was the one who gave him poison in the first place, and she was the one who manipulated him knowing exacly what he had, and that he could use it to protect her. Making him commit suicide whas her direct intent. I'm not negating Valerie's guilt on this side but there is one clear difference between Valerie and Dahlia. Valerie actually regreted what she did, and tried to repair the damage she caused. Dahlia never. I'm not negating Matt's or Morgan's guilt, in fact both of them are comparable to Dahlia when it comes to evil(although matt never had guts to murder himself, and hired assassin), but in no way they are worse that her. We do not know why Kristoph killed Shadi, but even Kristoph himself doesn't really realised that, we can't say he did it just because. Yes, he killed Drew, and tried to kill Vera, which put's him in the same leauge as Dahlia, but once again he's not worse than her. And unlike Dahlia, Kris rspected the law, and was never vengefull. He accepted his punishment, for what he did, as long as punishment was made by legal means. He never tried to get revenge on Phoenix, or Apollo for what they did, even if he COULD take them down. He could present the real ace card, and acuse Phoenix and Apollo, for forgery, but he did not, he accepted his punishment, and the fact that Phoenix had a right to take revenge on him the way he did. Dahlia tried to kill Maya, just because her sister did her job. Look Atme did not kill anyone for fun, he killed the guy who tried to blackmail him, before that he was simply masterminding some stealing. I'm not justifying him, but anyone who blackmails a criminal should know the risks. Look's victim was pretty much bad guy himself, and i can't say that i would cry for him. So i still disagree that there are people worse than Dahlia.

Iris knew because she was raised in Hazakura, but Dahlia was raised by her father who never cared about Morgan, why would he tell Dahlia anything? Even if she did know there are still 2 things you miss. First Even if Dahlia somehow knew Mia clearly did not, and in Dahlia-Mia war it was Dahlia who drew first blood when she poisond diego so why would SHE feel betrayed? It should be Mia who would feel betrayed in that case. As for Miles you are basically claiming that every prosecutor who seeks guilty verdict for defendant and gets death penalty for him is a murderer. Miles don't throw accusations out of the blue, he did his best to make sure that the real culprit is accused, and when he accused someone he tried to get guilty verdict because that was his job as a prosecutor. Miles wasn't Karma who couldn't care less whether or not the defendant is a culprit, Perhaps he did make some mistakes in his career but in every case(perhaps except Phoenix's second case,and i'm nor sure even about that one) he truly believed that the accused was the culprit, Terry's case was no different. Yes if Miles didn't push him Terry perhaps wouldn't have poisoned himself. But Miles had no idea about the poison he had, and so he could not have possibly foreseen that his actions will lead to his suicide. Ad when he did realise that Terry posioned him self he tried to stop the trial so the medics could save him. It's like accusing Phoenix of Turner's death because if he didn't go with him to Kurain Turner wouldn't have been killed by Mimi. Matt is perhaps worse scum than Dahlia, but definetely not more evil. Lack of guts doesn't make him more evil, it makes him more cowardly. The way you talk about Luke it makes it seem that only thing that was at stake was quiting his job as a deMasque's blackmailer. No it wasn't, he would be likely to go to prison if blackmailer decide to spill the beans, or at least lose much money to pay for blackmail. Kane knew the risks when he blackmailed a criminal, and pretty much had it comming. I'm not claiming that Luke is not a bad guy but pretty clearly Kane striked first in this. As for Kris we do not know what his motives where in the first place so you can't claim they are weak. And you don't seriously think that he killed shadi just because Shadi decided to change attorneys? Phoenix also decided to change attoreys from him to REAL rookie, and Kris never attempted to kill Phoenix, so i think it's unlikely that was the reason. And certainly not after 7 years. Returning to Dahlia's topic you claim her actions can be at least partially justified. There were three peeople who she really intended to kill, and we know it. Diego, Phoenix, and Maya. None of these ever did any harm to her or anyone close to her(as if she had anyone close in the first place...) How can any of these be justified in any way? While i agree that in Swallow's and Valierie's cases curcumstances made her do this in all three failed atempts her actions were clearly premeditated, and directed at good people who never even indirectly harmed her in any way. Her sister loved her, yes, but not because of her good qualities, but simply because she was her sister. Dahlia never cared about Iris, she only used her. We don't know is hse was good person when she was alone with Iris, true. But even if she was, this could have easilyh been a mask, not any different from the one she wore in coutrooms. She intended to kill Maya, and frame Iris for this, and she DID lock Iris in cold as arctic hell cave knowing perfectly well Iris might die from hypothermia. This clearly proves that she never cared about Iris just as she never cared about anyone else besides herself.

Twin sister that looks exacly the same has many uses, starting from creating artight alibi whenever it was needed, to taking the fall when necesary. You claim that Dahlia didn't know she looked like Iris, but this time it will be i who will find the contradiction. When Dahlia was called by Misty, she was still in Misty's clothes, yet she changed to temple clothes to look like Iris, why would she do that if she did not intend to pin it on Iris? If Morgan didn't tell her that she will look like herself(or iris for that matter) it would be risky, because Dahlia might have tried to act like Pearl, thinking she looks like her. You claim that Dahlia never tried to harm Iris when she was alive, but how could you possibly know this? I on the other hand think that she in fact did intend to do something to harm Iris. Dahlia intended to kill Phoenix, who was her Iris' boyfriend at the time which alone would be likely to harm Iris, but how would she intend get away with that? The easiest way would be to pin it on Iris, claiming she never knew Phoenix and that Iris was the one who was dating his(which of course was true), this way she would get away with crime, and get rid of Iris at one time, which also solves the problem you mentioned earlier, about Iris being dangerous to Dahlia. About Miles There is olny one thing i have to say. Faraday's murder. You claim that he never tired to dig deeper, but that's not true. It Faraday's case he clearly wasn't satisfied with simple explanations, and left no stone unturned until he found the truth. Initially it was suspected that Mack and Faraday killed each other, but he dug deeper and proved it to be false, then Dick was suspected, and again Miles kept digging until he found out that the culpritwas in fact Callisto. Miles left no stone unturned until he found answer that explained everything. You claim that Dahlia didn't want to kill Terry, or didn't think that she would kill terry, but then why would she give him that necklace in the first place? She gave him the poison and made him promise to drink it if she betrayed her, and then she pushed him knowing perfectly well about both promise and poison. You claim that Dahlia could not have known that Terry will use the poison, but that shows that you don't know Dahlia Hawthorne. Knowing how others will react, and what they want is basis of manipulating people, and Dahlia was really good at manipulating others. Terry was initially her tutor, then her boyfirend, she knew him, she could have known how she would react. She could expect that he would want to protect her, and would not want to lie at the same time, which would leave him whith only choice to die for her. Drinking the poison was his decision and that's the only reason why i won't call it murder, yet she was the one responsible for his death, and no one else.
When I first saw Dahlia, I knew it instantly. She had to be evil. She's great villain with a fantastically evil history, but her cover-up personality was just too predictable.
This theme depicts Dahlia so well. To me it's not just peaceful and sweet, nor beautiful: because that's not what she is. It has a tender and delicate sound to it, but something in the background feels... extremely ominous, frightening. Like something is off. And this is perfect, because it tells Dahlia likes to act like a nice well-behaved girl, when in reality she's a despicable person, a relentless monster who hurt many people for her own selfish gain. She concealed her true nature in order to manipulate all those around her. But when you think about Iris while listening to this, now it'll feel genuinely sweet and kind, but also very sad. Iris is the complete opposite of Dahlia and she always considered herself like "left over", unnecessary for her family. She truly loved Phoenix and tried her best to prevent Dahlia from hurting him. But she still feels remorseful for never letting him know the truth and hiding him her implication in the murder and her sister's crimes. I think that's an aspect this song reflects perfectly as well. It fits splendidly the two sisters.
i'm thinking about going to my first comic-con someday in a dahlia cosplay. i love her theme and i love her character. that and i would have no issue dying my hair a slightly different shade of red, and i could reuse a lot of the pretty pink costume parts. i just hope people get it, since she hasn't been in a game in a while

This theme may be my favorite of all the trilogy, it somehow manages to be peaceful, sad and ominous at the same time, a perfect depiction of Dahlia's character. It also reminds me of the Streets of Rage 2 intro theme, which is pretty fitting for such an evil character.
The theme is tragic for both of them Twin Sisters. Dahlia's behavior was caused by the divorce between her mother and father which didn't sit well with her because all her family cares about is only power and wealth. She is deemed as a worthless daughter because she cannot channel spirits, therefore, she cannot become the next Master of the Kurain Channelling Technique. However, Dahlia inherited her genius from her father so used this to her advantage to take revenge for herself. This theme song that plays during her appearance represents her selfishness, vanity, and also cunning. Iris is an another case entirely. She loves her twin sister, her family even though their relationship is just broken beyond repair. She wanted to help her sister in anyway even if its not morally good for them. However, during her fulfillment of her role as the body double of Dahlia Hawthorne, she fell in love with Pink sweater Phoenix Wright and she forgot that her identity is still Dahlia herself, not her usual identity. Her purpose of impersonating Dahlia Hawthorne is to recover the necklace that she gave from Phoenix Wright because it contains her valuable poison to threaten the denizens of the court. Iris can't do what her sister is asked of her because she's hesitating when she fell in love with this dorky Phoenix Wright. All she can do was to save Phoenix Wright from being accused by using her sister's necklace as evidence to accuse her for her crimes. Dahlia is eventually executed after being convicted. This theme song represents Iris' old tragic romance between her and Phoenix Wright and she is also torn between her love for her sister and her love for the man who is geniune about their feelings.
Well, her crimes happened in different years, so I'm using the Trials and Tribulations release as a reference. Even if her life was horrible, that doesn't justify using several innocent people for your own purposes. Still, I don't mind if you like her, everyone has different opinions :/. There's a folklore in our country about how two parrot chicks fell off from their nest and one ended up on a robbers' den while the other on a monastery in a forest and they were raised in their respectively newfound homes. One day, a man was lost in the forest, and he started looking for shelter, when he met the parrot who was in the robbers' den. The little guy cursed at him and shouted for the robbers to come, all he wanted was blood to spill. The man escaped the area and came to the monastery, where the parrot who lived there called for him kindly and offered food and shelter. The man was amazed at this and asked the monks who lived there about this, and the monks told him how the two parrots, even though siblings, became two entirely different beings, where the one with the robbers was raised with malice and evil intentions while the one with the monks was raised with generosity and kindness. Dahlia and Iris reminded me of this story.
Not sure if life wanted it to be this way and maybe I am overreacting but out of all games I own, I chose to play was this one (the original AA trilogy) from my backlog. 2 months ago, which is the time it took me to complete this trilogy, I had a horrible breakup with someone who was one of my closest friends(her name is Valerie ironically) who I knew for 10 years as friend and after 8 months of being with her, she turned out to be a monster. She deceived me into thinking her daughter (unknown father, one-night stand) was abused by her ex-boyfriend just she could more money from me. She also pretended to be something she's not which was weird because like I mentioned, I have known her for 10 years. Her cousin, who was my best friend and have known for 20 years when I was 14, instead of warning me like the guy in the first case, just blocked me when she found out I seeing Valerie alone (but didn't became couple until the third date). She re-appeared 2 months later telling me to straight up end up the relationship or we couldn't become friends and told me I shouldn't be dating her when I asked why. Days later, I tried again to ask her for a reason why I shouldn't date Valerie but she just insulted me. After 6 months, Valerie's mom was also being included in our dates so we could build a stronger family bond but she turned out to be unlikable and very rude. The day before we broke up, her old car broke down so she asked to use mine, which has a dashcam. She was very aware of the dashcam because she asked me about it during our first date 1 year ago. I was hoping I could get some insight into why her mother was being horrible to me so I checked the recording the next day and I didn't expect what I was hearing. Turns out Valerie was playing me. Not only she was dating 3-4 other men for money, but she was the same as her mother. Her mom even ask her if she even has feelings for me but she says she has none. Then her mom says then she can use this to her advantage because kind hearted people are naive and easy to manipulate. Valerie agree and even mentions a couple of her other boyfriends are like that too. I dumped her immediately of course over the phone. She tried to manipulate me as last effort by telling me that I can still date her but I cannot say anything about the video to anyone. I declined of course. Shortly after that, I lost my best friend too because she kept lying to me and even threaten our friendship again if I ever talk to her again. I never understood her reasoning but I guess something happened. It's family issue so it's not like I can just force her to tell me. In the end, Valerie was like Dahlia on the outside and pretended to be nice to manipulate others but I confronted her on the phone, she did sound a lot like Dahlia when she was found out in the trial.
I agree. Shelly is much more reliable than her. Eveb though he's literally a professional assassin, he sticks to his codes and values while Dahlia is just a monstrous b*tch

I like the choice of making her a more "Fragile" beauty rather than a hottie like April (both being a little nuts... Dahlia was just smart about it) I gotta admit, most of the killers were some evil evil people. But Dahlia takes the cake, she literally makes me feel truly angry, some really deep seated hatred. And it's just a fictional character... Always a sign of a good writer. Love it.
This is Iris theme as well, I'm pretty sure it plays also when she meets/talks to Phoenix or when she talks about him to Edgeworth, that's why i love it so much.
***** Depends what you mean by being Hawthorne. She's definetely daughter of jeweler named Hawthorne, and at the same time she's daughter of Morgan Fey. so she's both Hawthorne and Fey. Whether she's called by one name or another it's only point of view. I prefer to call her "Iris Fey" but calling her "Iris Hawthorne" is definitely not incorrect.

However, in most cultures, more often than not, it is the surname of the father that is taken, save for special circumstances such as a divorce with one-sided custody and sorts. Since Iris doesn’t seem to be affiliated with either parent, then her surname is most likely still Hawthorne, assuming conventional logic holds. However, the game specifically goes out of its way to never mention her last name, with her always being referred to as “Iris” in the court records, even after her family tree is revealed. It can be assumed that Iris simply doesn’t use either name anymore, making her full name simply “Iris,” nothing more. Edit: for clarity’s sake, by “an X and a Y” a meant to imply those should be substituted for your parent’s surnames. One will never win. The other will always have chances. One will suffer eternally. The other will rest in peace. These twin sisters were quite interesting in their sharp contrast in personality.
Recently, I watched Pixel Partners play this game on their channel. In the final case, when everyone realises that the girl at the witness stand is not Iris of Hazakura Temple, but her sister, Dahlia Hawthorne, Evan/Maskman, in that moment, in character as Phoenix Wright, asks "can I get an exorcist in here?"
I always thought she was a terrible human being (which I still continue to think) but you all made me realize something I surprisingly didn't remember up until now: Dahlia's early life wasn't the best of early lives. But the crimes she committed, the lives she took, the plans she had in mind...this song makes me kinda sad. What an amazing game this was.
Phoenix Wright knows how to knock the finale out with a spectacular villain. Individual cases are hit-and-miss, but think about it. Mannfred von Karma, Matt Engarde, Dahlia Hawthorne... They have a real presence in ways that other series villains like, I dunno, Redd White, just don't.

Yeah but that was before. He realized how cruel and shady of a girl he was dating. At least I'm happy that it turned out that during 8 months he was seeing Iris and not Dahlia. She nearly managed to kill him but thanks to Mia she got stopped in time
so was terry to a similar degree only difference is that one of them lived through years isolation and suffering and in the end didnt even make it out alive all while believing in her till the very end glad nick was given the role of comic relief in 3-1 for plot reasons so he could fucking LIVE and grow past the shit that went down
You wouldn't expect an innocent-looking girl would even try to kill a living human being? She's like the evilest villain of Ace Attorney! I really wish she could return in the future Ace Attorney games she's that good of a villain!
Mia sure won the overall Race but did she win EVERY one of them? She said Dahlia never could beat her, but she did....once at least. I mean she was able to Silence both Terry and Valarie (As far as the law is, and law is basically everything in this Game at least till the Trilogy)
I wonder what Darke and Dahlia would think of each other. They are quite similar, both had commited crimes after crime to cover up for their previous crimes. Both of them almost got away with it, Darke was too careful to leave any evidence, Dahlia manipulated almost everyone.
I must say, the title of the song is interesting. When we look at Dahlia, we may see the appearance of beauty-but only distant traces of the genuine article. Don’t be fooled… there is no beauty here. Only wickedness and hate, as deep and strong as Eagle River itself.

I feel like most us men have dated a non violent version of her at least once in our lives. Someone who we fell in love with based on appearance or some other fallacy, just to eventually find out how black and hollow their heart truly is... Its why i empathized with Phoenix so much after Dahlia was putting him down in front of everyone while he loved her. You could tell his heart was shattered find out the girl of his dreams despised him...
My FAVORITE characters in the WHOLE game! 1:Dahlia ...I don't know why but I love her as a character because she has a strange aura about her...she's elegant but in pain at the same time...I feel sorry for her and her crimes 2: Iris ...she's elegant but mysterious like her sister...I love those two...their story is interesting 3: Detective gumshoe ... I LOVE THIS GUY! Everything about him is funny ...but sad...I love how he has a low salary that can only afford him instant noodles! One of my FAVORITE parts of the series is when he starts singing reggae! 4: Trucy ...when you need cheering up....she's there...she's so bright and loving 5: Maya ...I'm kinda on a tie with maya and Trucy...I love how they are bright and funny. I love when maya says anything about burgers 6: Mr.hat ...who doesn't love Mr.hat? 7Ms.Von Karma...I love her ambition....and when she cries....it's really funny 8: Apollo...that CHORDS OF STEEL joke gets me every single time... 9: Mia ...I love her as a character, she's wise and smart ....but I put her here on the list because I wanted to see her more before she died. I thought if they had a few more cases before she died, it would make the build up to her death more heartbreaking...but I love Capcoms choices in the series 10: Pearl....she's SOO cute! But I wanted her to have a better story. I wanted her to find out who her sisters were. But it never happened Please don't give any hate comments! It's my own opinion!
I think in Dahlias case, her disposition hinges on a balancing scale between Nature and Nurture. Nurture because her upbringing started with a loveless mother and father, causing a heavy influence on her, and Nature, because even though she was shown kindness and love from several people ( Phoenix, Terry, even her own sister Iris), at some point along her growing up with her family, none of it mattered in her eyes anymore. Sad that she never learned to give back affection in return.
When I first heard this tune in the game, I loved it cos it was so peaceful and lovely. And once I had finished the game, listening to it now, it just makes me so sad... how can I hate a video game character so much? The pain she caused everyone is just incredible. :(
