Thank you so much! I wish i found this last year. I started growing dahlia's last year. I bought some from you and i could only plant in pots and unfortunately used miracle grow. Some did not sprout but some did. Some survive for this year and I am going to follow your advice and check the soil i am going to use and the check the numbers on the fertilizer. Very informative. Thank you very much.
great content. thank you. 1st time growing Dahlias so Im learning. Growing season just started but Im glad I didnt just jump in with the high N from MG
Thank you! Finally, I found a channel about dahlias❤ and now I know a little more about these beautiful flowers… mine are growing beautiful… Though, I did everything backwards 😂 Hope I can fix the mushroom compost I added to my dahlia beds 😭 Will start feeding them regularly❤. thank you!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This was great! Thanks.... I've fertilized several times with that Dr Earth, but haven't recently... guess I better get out there. We were getting so much rain all the time, but it's been dry for a week+ now.
Hello. I loved this video and i've rewatched it several times. Could you please tell us what soil mix you use for the large bed/trays and for the plug trays? Thanks.
I'm getting ready to fertilize my dahlias in my raised 8x4 bed! Is the 1/2 cup sprinkled around the plant still appropriate for that bed size? Oh in the Dr Earth Flower Girl fertilizer? Thanks!
Did you day how often you water. It's hot and dry here but I dont want to overwater. If I wayer deeply is it twice a week or more often would you think?
what about rotted down sheep manure ? TY It is funny to me, I had a dahlia t my old house and I never touched it, never watered it, never fed it, never divided it , nothing, just hacked it back ever year. It flowered prolifically year after year after year. It was like it thrived on neglect. Now I am "into" dahlias, and i fuss and fluff over them, and don't know what is right fertiliser, or how much to water them, some I have rotted when I have got new tubers ..😂
My Dahlias have buds set and are starting to bloom. I have not fertilized at all yet. Which one would you recommend right now? I need them to be producing flowers for wedding in 3 1/2 weeks.
I'm so sad. I purchased swan Island dahlias for the first time this year. I wish that I'd understood their watering needs much earlier. The problem is, we are in near drought conditions. I had to rely almost entirely on rain. I think they're going to die. So sad!
