Dale Sr. was a figure that was larger than life, and that is proven to be true when you hear stories like the ones at the end of this video.
During the Ask Jr. portion of the episode, listeners sent in questions regarding:
- Sharing SMT data - is it good or bad?
- Beer: bottles or cans?
- What did Dale Sr. do to prepare for races? You won’t want to miss the two Intimidator stories involving a bulldozer and a chainsaw.

That story is a good example how Dale Sr’s mind worked. He definitely didn’t process things like the rest of us would have. If I flipped a dozer that SOB is staying on its side till I go find someone else to drive it. He really didn’t have a quitting bone in his body and seemed to not be scared of anything. The thought of getting hurt likely never even entered his mind. I grew up watching him do things on the track that would make your jaw drop in amazement and have been a lifelong fan of the Earnhardt family. I wish he’d have gotten to see Jr’s later years, so we’d been able to see how proud he was of the man Jr has grown into. I’m sure he always watches over Jr, Kelly, Kerry, and Taylor.

I'm from the same era I can tell you what he was thinking I have a small amount of time to get it back on its tracks before all of the fluids and diesel leak out if I don't its going to be down while I repair it as to getting back on it that was to make sure there was no damage to the engine and to get the fluids back to circulating

I always wished for it too. Mainly so he could just focus on driving, no grievances, no worries. Not having the weight of the world on his shoulders or the expectations even Sr. couldn't achieve after the 96 Dega rollover with injuries that hurt the rest of his 90's. No BS at home at DEI headquarters or how other teams caught up to DEI and they didn't make the advancements they needed. Moving to HMS was good but like Jeff Gordon and others he was on tje back burner as the push was for Jimmie. Without the BS and what not he was pretty much robbed of true opportunities to fulfill a few Championship runs. The guy could drive.

I was born in 1984 and have been a Dale Earnhardt fan since my earliest memory. I remember he had this aura about him that he was the coolest and toughest sob on the track. I even had the fortune of sitting down with Sr. and Childress when he stayed at Sears Point and I was just a kid. I talked to him for a handful of minutes, but it is burned in memory for life. Point being, as tough as he was on the outside, he was kind enough on the inside to talk to me as a kid.

I hated it when everyone jumped on the 3 bandwagon - it was soooo much better when he used to get booed before the races - it was hilarious - he would stand in the back of the truck and just wave and grin - it was priceless - At Bristol the year he spun DW he was booed louder than Gordon ever was - it was awesome

The bulldozer barely fit on this trailer and my Dad was rushing because it was the end of the day. Well thankfully it slid off the side of the trailer and the blade control was curved and it caught my father and kept him from getting crushed. All my father cared about was getting the dozer off the trailer and getting the track back on. I was terrified and he knew it.

The beer can/bottle debate is so interesting to me as a Canadian. Especially a resident of Ontario. Everyone returns both for a refund. 10 cents each Typically I'd put some beer in the fridge then refill the case as I empty them. When the case is full and the fridge is empty it goes right back to the beer store. Two dollars and forty cents credit to the next case. Or cash in hand. In Ontario it's called the "Beer Store" hard liquor and wine is bought at the LCBO

Break a bone and beg not to go to the hospital. Put duct tape over something and try and hide it from mom 😂 I would always get the call and the first thing my mom would say is “he’s ok now but …” I can’t help but think they would have gotten along well. Weird theory, but i always thought, "Why the hell can't Jimmie push like his teammates? It's always Dale pushing him, and Dale can't make a move for the win if he's stuck behind Jimmie"

I DROVE 90-100MPH TO THE HOSPITAL AND WHEN I WAS TAKEN TO THE ROOM HE WAS IN WAITING FOR THE SURGEON TO GET DONE WITH THE SURGERY HE WAS DOING SO HE COULD TAKE DADDY TO SURGERY AND HE WAS LAYING THERE CALM AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED AND THE STAFF HAD STOPPED THE BLEEDING AND THEY HAD GAUZE LAYING OVER THE WHOLE AREA THAT HAD BEEN CUT. I WAS ALWAYS A DADDY'S GIRL AND EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T SEE THE INJURY UNTIL AFTER SURGERY, I JUST LOST CONSCIOUSNESS BECAUSE MY DADDY WAS HURT BUT TO HIM IT WAS NO BIG DEAL. THE SURGEON DID SUCH A GREAT JOB,YOU COULDN'T EVEN SEE HE'D EVER COME CLOSE TO BEING KILLED BECAUSE OF THAT CHAINSAW.. MY HUSBAND AT THE TIME WAS AT WORK FRAMING HOUSES FOR DADDY AND MAMA SOMEHOW GOT SOMEONE TO GO TO THAT JOB SITE TO TELL MY HUSBAND TO COME TO THE HOSPITAL. WHICH HE DID. BUT HE WASN'T NO WHERE HALF THE MAN MY DADDY WAS 🙏🙏🙏

Almost unsubscribed because of the ignorance in the beginning... But the last statement still gives me hope that kids might actually "listen"! 💪
