I remember a couple episodes earlyer Bobby talking to the Doctor about Pam wanting a Baby...and that might snap her out of her depression... and the Doctor more or less saying that won't solve the problem.........well the Doctor was "WRONG" Pam snaped out of he depression once she saw they had a baby to adopt. to me that proved the Doctor didn't know what she was talking about.
They had a nursery already. Crib, rocking chair, and probably clothes and diapers. He and John Ross aren’t that much different in age. There was probably even a nanny somewhere with nothing to do since John Ross was with Sue Ellen. That’s more prepared than most people whose husbands bring a baby home out of the blue.
Funny how people are so shocked with the baby traveling in the front seat facing the road. At least he was in a baby seat. There are photos of me as a nine month old baby in the summer of 1972 laying on a blanket in the backseat of our car while my parents travelled in the front, lol. No seatbelt, no nothing, haha. They did fill up the crack between the front and backseat so that I would at least stay put on the seat =D I look really happy in those pics, too, having all that space for myself. I had it good compared to all the fuss that takes place with kids these days - and I'm still here to tell the story, lol.
Here's another fun fact. If you notice when Bobby arrives at Southfork he's wearing a Striped Shirt, and in The Nursery he's wearing a Blue Shirt. That was one of the most memorable cliffhangers next to Who Shot JR?
Actually looking at the scene again, it is the lighting that makes it look as though he is wearing a blue shirt, if you look closely you can see it has stripes. When he walks away from Pam, you can see the shirt has stripes on.

Bobby did so much tapdancing to get this Child away from Kristin's Boyfriend, then I remember him calling Donna asking her to take Miss Ellie out for the day. Miss Ellie changes her mind and there was no way Donna could Warn Bobby. Then JR Blackmails Bobby and then Bobby finds out that JR's child with Kristen was miscarried. Bobby and Pam saved that child, he could have fallen between the cracks of the Foster Care System.

I was pregnant with my second child, 1981, and about to give birth, while watching the last episode showing in South Africa all those years back. I remember i need to go to the loo, and when i returned to bed, my ex husband disgustedly say to me, "you pee in the bed" and i remember how ashamed i felt, but it turned out, my water broke, which did not happen with my first child. There was no pain, so my ex husband refuse to take me to hospital until the end of the last episode. And then he fell asleep, and i too, with no pain. But boy, was he not in big trouble the next morning when he phoned the maternity ward at the old 1 Military hospital, the sister had told him off so bad, he pick up my hospital bag, and with the other hand he said to me walk to the car, she is going to kill me today. My second birth happened without experiencing any labour pains, in those days, there was not such things of strapping things on your stomach to show contractions, everything was done by hand. The sister had to tell me with her hand on the stomach feeling for contractions, when to push. How the memories coming back. Now my baby is married with twin daughters nearly 10 years old.
the storyline was good. but one thing I thought was interesting....... Pam's psychiatrist.. after Bobby tells her Pam wants a baby more then anything and it would help her. she tells Bobby that Pam wanting a baby was not going to help her come out of her depression of learning Digger was not her real father and that she couldn't have a baby the natural way.....and would be unfair to the child. Seems the psychiatrist was Wrong. Pam snaped out of her depression quickly when she saw Christopher.. and was back to normal. so it seems the psychiatrist guessed wrong and her opinion was wrong. plus it showed she didn't know everything.
Astraldragon1 That's why Pam felt like she didn't need to be there. Get her a baby and she will be fine. I think the psychiatrist was looking at it as Pam having abandonment issues when it came to her mom and Digger not being her biological dad was a whole nother problem separate from not being able to have a baby. Once Christopher came home it made everything fine. The lack of love and stability she didn't get she and Bobby gave to Christopher.
Christopher may have been raised by Bobby and Pam then later Bobby after Pam had her accident and her death a year later from pancreatic cancer but his biological parents were Kristen and Jeff Faraday

Poor Bobby was in a terrible spot. Pamela took one look at that baby and just knew it was hers, but if Bobby had told her the truth, she'd have done herself in for sure. But Christopher turned out to be a very nice and very bright kid, though years later, when Jeff Faraday's sister came to town to take him away, Bobby had to tell Pam what really happened. He could've gotten in very serious trouble for illegal custody of Christopher. Wow, did he ever dodge a bullet!
he may have paid for Christopher from the father but him and Pam adopted the baby in front of a judge legally. Both parents died before they adopted the baby

Oh so Bobby was bringing Christopher to meet JR his biological father . I forgot that he was Christian's son Suellen Nephew and John Ross cousin and halfs brother. That's what U call a blendid family. Pam jumped to the wrong conclusion. I wish they would upload the episode when Pam and Suellen found out he was JR and Christian;s son.
Later, anybody never told the truth to Sue Ellen that Christopher was not J.R.'s son. She almost got back together with J.R., but because of Christopher she hated him again.
She had two pregnancies prior but ended in accidents. Those couldve been born and healthy. I think that was a test of how their love could get through that. Christopher though you never thought he was adopted. He was their litte prince
Becoming a mother did a whole lot for Pam. The next year, she became stronger than she had ever been , helping Lucy with a stalker and an abortion, trying to stop the Barnes Ewing feud, becoming the head of the Barnes Wentworth family, and then finally leaving Bobby and the Ewings behind. I loved her characters evolution.
Helping someone get an abortion is never a source of strength, so please stop thinking that way. Its actually a sign that someone is weak and a coward.
And Bobby came with that baby just like that in that house without taking care of something when he knew very well that his wife wanted to adopt very much a child and they did'nt found one yet..It seems to me..strange and without wisdom..
At that point she was depressed and emotionally unstable because of her inability to have a baby so when Bobby walked in with baby Christopher (albeit he wasn't expecting Pam to be there) Pam immediately embraced the baby without question. Poor Bobby's plan had backfired and he didn't have the heart to tell her.
From the first time Baby Christopher I knew he was going to be Jeff Faraday’s son and not JR’s, because Christopher has blonde hair and Kristen and Jr were Burnett’s, Jeff had blonde hair.
Barbara bel Geddes was a fabulous actor. Too bad they didn't give her the money she deserved. She was THE show...JR was fine, and Bobby but Miss Ellie ruled!!
I know, sometimes some facts on other Shows are forgotten. For example, there was a Bobby Martin on All My Children, went upstairs into The Attic to get a Book and was never heard from. I told UK Soap Fans how sometimes "Children" Disappear and they laughed.

Tom Dotson John Ross is JR's son and Kristin miscarried JR's child. Jeff Farraday is Christophers biological father. Sue Ellen is his natural aunt. JR was his adoptive uncle/uncle through marriage.

Bobby is very foolish here. First of all, for the stunt of bringing home what he thought was JR’s baby. Who the hell did he think he is. And all he had to do is say, “No Pam, you don’t understand.”
