Dampers are the life line up the print head. You should be able to put a syringe on the outlet to the head and suck water easily through it. If you can't it's definitely a major issue
@@planetpodcast5607 thx for your video! can we push water or cleaning liquid from this port or only pull whatever is in the cartridges. Also in case the cartridge is not inserted?
I have a Freejet 330TX Plus and the dampers from Omni cost $35 each, SO, I have two sets and always clean my dampers really good using a syringe and cleaning solution and distilled water and then place them on a paper towel to let them dry (it takes a long time for the filter screen to dry inside the damper). I have been doing this trick since 2019 and the only issue is the cleaned damper are slightly stained after cleaning, which has absolutely NO effect on the function, they function as new. NOTE" you must be very gentle as you push and pull the solution through the damper so as NOT to blow out the the thin clear membrane on the sides. So, when ever I notice any white ink issue, I just swap out the dampers and clean the set removed and let them dry out for the next rotation, much cheaper than paying Omni $35 for each one.. There are cheap after market dampers that will fit, however they are smaller in size with a smaller filer screen and only made for regular printer ink, not DTG/DTF inks.
we have had issues since day 1. We got 1 from dtfpro and is basically an updated epson L1800. We have problems every day and haven't been able to get it to stay going at all. For some reason we have to clean 7 plus times and then way to much over and over the damper is empty and have to keep sucking ink back through over and over. Our double white dampers are horrible and will sometimes take 10 plus time to keep sucking til full. times will suck like has air but can't find any. we also have to keep sucking ink back through others too.
@@planetpodcast5607 I think we got a refurbished machine honestly but paid full price from dtf pro online. No instructions and no CD or anything. Said class was included but day suppose to I was literally across the opposite of 🇺🇸. So nothing. We added ink included and never has really worked great without way too much head cleaning and consrant sucking ink through to fill dampers back up. Then got it going great for few days, then had problems again with ink not printing good. We got it like 1st or 2nd week of January so its not that old. We just got more ink from another place but it's def a lot thinner. Yesterday I had dampers full but after 2 or 3 head cleanings the blue damper would be empty and other colors, but white would off and on get bubbles, not like the blue though. I stopped til could learn more of what to do cause blue kept going to waste rank and wasting ink. Any idea of what could try or where could watch video of printer etc. It's almost identical to epson L1800. It's just got blue top with dtf pro.
If ink delivery is the issue you need to follow the ink. If you can get good prints some of the time then it's not the head. Dampers can be cleaned, if you can't pull ink through them with some ease you'll need to replace them. The filters get clogged and they are dead..could be ink cartridge related. Unfortunately it's trial by error . I've not dealt with them before personally. Some inks can give you very undesirable results
@@planetpodcast5607 we can pull ink through fine. It's just now getting the blue ink to not leak slap out after couple cleanings 😥. It's driving me insane for sure. After cleaning I know during it shoots ink into damper then sucks to waste, but that's when the dampers should fill up as it empties I thought, but it's not. I'll have to keep trying.
