@@Endru85x That's a far going statement. I can't remember any game or movie except this one where i could actually tell wtf are they talking about. Edit: Older games don't count because most of them was "russificated" by a bunch of blithering idiots named "1С" and/or "Fargus" and that was a tragedy of it's own. Imagine playing GTA San Andreas that was translated from english to Chinese, then Japanese, then Korean, then Hindi, from that to English and THEN to Russian. I kid you not: translation was so bad it became a meme that even two decades later everyone still remembers it.
@@skoVBA2 The very founding of Russia involved five tribes, three of which were Finnic and two of which were Slavic. The paternal line of the Rurikid dynasty was Finnic. Most of the Russian heartland was inhabited by the Merya, Meschera and Muroma who were all assimilated. In the south, Indo-Iranian tribes were active and were also assimilated. Almost every population genetic PCA shows Russians and Finnics overlapping each other more than any other populations in the region, and the only Russians that are more like Ukrainians (who also had some minor Finnic influence) are in the far-west like Smolensk.
I mean the accent isn't really that terrible, but he sounds like he's drunk as fuck and trying his best to sound sober during confrontation with his mum.
And Jared Kushner said nothing about this pathetic excuse of a movie. If the Hollywood was even trying to portray the Irgun this way, I'd be on them faster than you could say " Nikolaj Kuznetsov ". But not Kushner. What a loser.
He's actually quite good. He doesn't just pronoune the English transliteration and try to make it sound Russian, but he also makes right emphasises on the right words so that sentences sound like they should. it is obvious that he knows the definition of every word, not just the whole sentence. And his prononciation is really surprising, especially when compared with other famous actors and actresses of non-Russian origins trying the ass off but eventually failing in speaking Russian. Great job.
someone else has commented that he actually memorized the dialogue phonetically instead of learning the language itself. I don't speak Russian but from your comment it seems that methods works
@@fitrianhidayat It doesn’t. Impossible to understand it. Particularly in contrast with native Russian speakers in the scene. They speak slowly and very clearly, which is rather unusual for partisans in the forest.
@@quackityalt7213 guys, some people can better make sense of language than others. Craig is also limited by the fact he doesn’t know how to pronounce the words, or what they mean, just how to speak the phonetics within them. There are plenty of Russians who would comprehend what he was saying well enough, and plenty who would not, just as there are plenty Englishmen who can understand what Geordies are trying to say and plenty more who do not.
Imagine being so idiot thinking USSR won the war and destroy 80% of the nazi forces by spamming men without weapons, you need a special school for that
Jews in the USSR and in Russia have always been equal to everyone else. And the pogroms were only a couple of times, in tsarist times, a couple of times, and not hundreds of times, as in Western Europe. And then, it was a purely popular initiative, not a directive from above. And the Jews fought well in the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War. And they received all the same orders.
0:58 - "October Otriad" - a nice translation of Отряд Октябрь/October Group. The Commander is Major of Artillery, he had to introduce himself as "Major Panchenko" or saying nothing to strangers just met in a forest, if he is a head of a special group. The black (??) fur hats in a summer time look very nice.
@@cesarioluccio does the Polish accent sound like that? Poles are not so bad at pronouncing words in Russian, because our languages are not so different
+Tariel Chakhov
I am impressed by the way he speaks Russian (if he just memorized a few lines without understanding the meaning does not make it less of an achievement). He definitely has a very good ear for languages.
Finally some quite good Russian pronouncation - didn't have to read English subtitles to understand what Americas say in Russian for once. Daniel Craig, now I respect you
Yes and no. The scene is absurd and can only be treated as an example of how NOT to write the war movies. But I disagree that anyone even tried to control the Belsky Unit- we ARE talking about people who've lost their entire families and are hellbent on revenge. I know their reputation as well but certain people also call my Donbass friends " bandits " and " terrorists ", so it's neither here nor there. Besides, who am I to judge and attach labels? My grandfather fought for the Irgun.
@@islamars_kms Well, I'm exaggerating, of course. He was a governor of California, after all. However, his accent is a butt of oh so many jokes among the Americans.
" I thought English was widely spoken in Eastern Europe. Yup, a language that are originated from an island country that are also being a lingua franca from Berlin to Moscow. " 😀😁😂😆
