Another great review. I dont regret this purchase. Really glad Atari included a flashback Friday. Gives you a little bit extra to look forward to. So far ive purchased every game on the flashback series..🤣👍
Great review! I also found Dark Chambers to be very good. I wasn't expecting much but was surprised to find quite a bit of play in this game. I always loved Gauntlet and Gauntlet II so much that I actually own a Gauntlet II Arcade Game. I had heard about it being a derivative of Dandy but did not know the same developer created Dark Chambers. Thanks for the history and this is truly a hidden gem.
@@justclaws4222 I too would love a pause button, be careful: The menu button resets the game. :) Found out the hard way. The Fuji will work in a pinch though.
The VCS version of the game is almost an entirely different game compared to the Pro System version shown here. But I prefer the HCS version. Even though it has monochrome monsters (because they're part of the ever-changing playfield instead of being sprites) this means that they don't constantly vanish when they go off-screen; increasing the difficulty and making it less "Nintendo-y".
I just downloaded Dark Chambers 7800. For some reason most sound effects and the intro music does not work. I tried re-installing and the problem hasn't been solved. It is the first 7800 game I downloaded so I can't know if its a problem of the emulator. Any advise? Update: I tried deleting the game and it's extra files and then restarting the Atari and re-downloading the game. Many sound effects that I couldn't hear before are here now. For sure much better. But there are still sound effects missing. Including the sound of shooting and the intro music.
