Ive always run Dm and now with branded it’s even better. I have a similar build to this one but I focus more on the Dm side of things. Love it when they don’t read eternal soul and my Dm survives whatever card effect they tried to use on it

Dark Magicians are just so damn expensive unfortunately. Magician's Souls can be played in a few other decks (Fluffals, SPYRAL) and once Illusion of Chaos is out it gets better but still, just hate to see so many archetype exclusive URs and then counting Chicken Game and Upstart too it gets worse.

Thats why you open the dark magician packs then craft what you cant get through packs its not even that expensive considering things like upstarts and chicken games are staples and you can just use any dupes you get from packs to dismantle and craft those

@@nivernjohn7986 You're right there not exactly staples I guess but depending on the types of decks you use both can be used in dm, sky strikers, any pendulums, spyrals there not as important as most the hand traps and monsters like dpe and barronne but you can use them in a lot of decks there's definitely stronger cards but if you use the kinds of decks I mentioned there going to be used and get value in all those

Light hex healfusion monster is so good with branded fusion to get out dark magician dragon knight. Send it and albaz to the grave for Albion. Then banish both for for dragon knight. Turn two can have a extra monster to ark with and don’t have to banish dark magician for the combo.

This thing is so much worse at its job than IO it's not even funny. If you lose your spellcasters you can lock yourself out of your own spells which is why only Altergeist(a TRAP deck) makes good use of it, and it doesn't even prevent Pendulum effects from activating, meaning random junk like Archfiend's Eccentric can get rid of it. That said Field spells are a lot more searchable than Continuous Traps.

That first match was just embarrassing. Their first priority should have been to get 3 Spells in grave so they could pop Eternal Soul with an Afterburners, inability to do that was probably gonna lead to a scoop anyway though. They probably brain farted and didn't account for that it might actually protect Dark Magician from effects.

They literally couldn't get 3 spells in the grave, 1 or 2 was the absolute most They could do. Sky Striker was dead the moment Village was fully live.

They would have been able to use a Battle Phase to dump and pick up an Engage to search the Afterburners I mentioned before, the problem was they needed an additional spell to cast past that initial Widow Anchor for a 3rd in grave. They would have had to go into Lyna or Hiita from that positon though(preferably Lyna to search a Roze after it gets outed), and there's no guarantee they were running either of those.
