This is so so true. Ahaha! Couldnt have put it better myself. Loads of young baby mammas and papas. There is a lot of baggage on the island and if you are looking for romance , the families are a tight knit community, so yh, you would need to be accepted by everyone. Everyone knows everyone, so its pretty likely you will bump into someone who knows that "someone". #islandlife Mahalo for this.
I live on Big Island and have totally given up on serious dating. Women either are into one night stands, or are waiting for either the millionaire or the surfer with crazy abs. Waste of time for a regular guy. Wish I could go date on Oahu, whenever I visit it seems like regular guys are in high demand. Oh well, more money and time for hobbies.
He said the people at the communes are all natuuuraaal. The smell! This guy is hilarious but he knows what’s up. He talking about people at the commune who are here from other places. He is NOT talking about Hawaiians because he knows Hawaiians looove the water and bath everyday. Yes we Hawaiians so love water . Fresh water and ocean water. It brings us joy to feel the water on our skin. The ocean is healing for us. We go in the ocean when we have certain ailments to cleanse our body and soul.
You’re so awesome Jeff.. I have to watch all of your videos now.. I’m as you put it an “islander”..Filipino in other words and I have so much respect for all these Hawaiian.. in Hawaii you give respect , you get respect back and that’s all there is to it...keep the videos coming😁
I li made a comment on one of your videos about "possible" racism in Hawaii. I think that the next comment I make applies. If you are looking for a significant other in Hawaii, be prepared for "work". Everyone that is a native, is going to want the BEST for their children, cousin, step sister, and the list goes on.... If you really would like a relationship with an islander you have to think of it like you would in any small town. First date? You meet, talk. If you enjoy the female or males company? You gotta meet the folks. Be brave. If your looking for a one hitter n quitter? Something easy? You can pay for that. Trying to start an actual life together? A relationship? That takes time. And work. I'm not from the island but, I am from a small town. The more videos I watch from jj it really doesn't seem that different. Common family values. As a plus? I really wouldn't worry about past baggage. Otherwise she/he wouldn't be entertaining a life with you, right?! Get in with the family? Bulletproof.
I live here. Dating scene sucks on big island. Most local women have kids and usually go with their own kind if they're not single. What Jeff said in this video is so true. It's crazy how much the dating scene sucks here. Heck, it's even hard to make friends. It's tough to settle on the islands since locals know each other and if you didn't grow up here, no one knows you. Making friends with other transplants kind of sucks because they're not very cultural and of course doesn't know much about the culture of Hawaii and the lifestyle of Hawaii.
I came here to get info on Maui. There's a competition to send someone to Maui for 3 months as a paid photographer, but now I probably don't want to go with those odds. Yikes!
I was a tourist on Molokai, and got fixed up with a Navy guy, by the events girl at the hotel. It was very romantic, and we wrote for about a year. Of course, it ended. Too far away. One nice thing that I was asked there was why had I never been caught!
Hey Jeff, RC here. Great to see you cranking along, living the life, and having a time doing it. That's a great use of your talent to whip out all that RU-vid footage. I had a suggestion for you: Why not deploy your assets that you've accumulated over the years. Why not cross tie the news channel you built with your new channel. I don't know your divestiture arrangement but, even if you're a completely independent supplier to that group, it would still gain both you and the site considerable synergy to multiply both audiences. They could use the fresh new content that you generate and you could use their leverage to reach a much wider audience and a stable following. I would think both sides should benefit. Plus there's the prestige of being referred to as the founder
Wow! Have I got to talk story with you braddah! I’m part Hawaiian with wealth (entrepreneur).... My cousins all Marines & Air Force....now that is fun!
I Used to live in Honolulu and notice how “Race Orientated “ And Clickish the dating scene Was with The locals. Now, With the Tourists was a hit or a miss. my Own personal Experience and perception.
I live in San Francisco and there isn't a laid back vibe compared to Maui. The locals are great but in-terms of dating, the island is a melting pot. Hawaii (I'm speaking of Maui) lacks the big city nightlife you'll find in San Francisco, Vegas, Los Angeles, or San Diego
I want to add the locals are great and I ate a lot of food. If you're single and looking for company in the short-term, Maui isn't the place. It's great for families, senior citizens, couples that have timeshares making Maui their second home but you're a guest to the locals.
Yup.. say it as it is brother... just as i suspected out there. Just a matter of luck if you come across being in the wrong place and wrong time with one of the lovey ladies.
My view from having lived in Waianaie and the Big Island back in the late 1970's. Become a master martial artist and become fearless. Locals love intimidating Haoles and they know how easily Haoles are intimidated. Be a nice guy who will kick ass and take no shit from anybody and impress them with your superior fighting skills and lifting weights will also help as will learning about Hawaiian music. Sucking up beers and playing Hawaiian music all night is a cultural thing. Getting chicks will be easy when you have the courage to take what you want. It won't hurt owning a few firearms and knowing how to use them as someone will likely try and intimidate you with that . You might also want to learn about Samoan culture and language and try living for a while in Samoa.
My brother in law move to O'ahu 2.5 years ago from Chicago & can not get over how many Haole (White) men with Asian women there are! You do not see Asian men with Haole women near as much.
Military guy hooks up with local girlfriend with big local braddahs Yeah. Military guy got nice truck lends truck to local girlfriend for a day. Next day she says oh lend truck to my bro to move furniture. More excuses next few weeks military guy never sees his truck? Military guy looks for truck asking Local Braddahs but gets stink look as if they don't know what he taking about. Then no worries your truck is in good hands. WTF???
Sounds normal as the day in most small communities,, Tropics and Mts.. But.. like u say.. if ppl go looking for that special someone... better rethink and see videos like urs !! thx for ur info...P.S ew ew and just gross !! BO is not for human consumption via the nostrils.. Poor hygiene ,, Poor health ! and just "Rank"
Haha I lived on the B.I.for 5 years and yes I WWOOFED there and yes we shaved and took showers but I'll be darned if I don't know the type you are talking about. We called them the "lazy, crazy, hazy farms" and there were plenty to go around. One volunteer had just come from a foul place called "Hedonesia" (they don't exist anymore so I don't feel bad calling them out) She was very pretty otherwise but reeked of mold, her dreads had mold and her clothes were all MOLDY. I told her she could take a shower and do her laundry at the older washing machine under the lanai. So she cleans up then she asks me if she can borrow my tweezers, I obliged. Then I hear her screaming in the shower, she had a diva cup stuck up her you know what and was using my TWEEZERS TO REMOVE IT. Needless to say I didn't ask for them back and I don't think she lasted long doing real farm work for eight hours a day.
Man. That sucks . I like Kauai but It seemed like a bunch of Vegan hippies . And yeah that makes sense that you might run into problems for swooping somebody's Crush since Jr high. Plus I heard Hawaiians like to fight lol
That's all very true, I live on Kauai and it is a bit of a macho culture for the local people. There are very rarely any shootings or even stabbings but people do get seriously injured in fist fights fairly often.
I hated the dating scene in Oahu from my point of view most not all but most of the local women are judgmental and just a whole bunch of drama but since Oahu has alot of women from the mainland i had it good since I'm from Texas and I could click easily with them
This was a terrible review from a non-local haoule. I am from there, and he missed so much about the wonderful people and girls in particular. And why did he not even mention the melting pot of culture from Japan, the Philippines, Korea and all of Asia? Lots more to the story people. My advice, join Golds Gym on Kapiolani Blvd, get yourself in shape, learn the real local customs, and you will meet lots of the most beautiful women in the world.
Education in schools are stagnant history, i got bored, learning nothing more. Today, I am aware and the generation has advanced. The truth of the matter i learned here is where did all this originated? Isn't it so the plan was way sorted out hundreds of years in advance to conquer the WORLD in every which way and to rule and enslave? The big picture is out of the box. War broke out in the islands and Kamehameha conquered. Noticed the design of the Hawaiian warriors helmet? Look, isn't it simulated to the Roman warriors helmet? I believe people existed all over the world by the thousands and traveled throughout the four corners of the earth for hundreds of centuries. I heard a true story about a small village in Italy over a stupid bucket something about a village or two villagers shared the only water well, and somebody forgotten to bring their own pale, lazy to go back for the pale ends up stealing the bucket home, now the villagers accusing one another, division is added and WAR breaks out. Tell a little kid go dump the trash in those big dumpsters and he misses and it ends up scattered on the ground, now... the neighboring community are complaining and accusing that that community is lazy and dirty. It started because the adult was lazy. Excuse me when I heard you explain, I realized how polite you are soo I needed to SHARE with you. 😃🖑 no offense to anyone, my right to my opinion ok. 😃👍
It’s not hard to show your a tourist just act like every body else and don’t wear like Hawai’i cloths that tourist wear and don’t talk to other girls that have a bf cuz they gonna get MAD
it just depends who you are and how good you are with the ladies. now if you're gay I bet there's plenty of opportunities or low hanging fruit! no pun intended.
Locals are not going to date non locals. Locals have their own, true that. Dating in Kauai was horrid. Being single was difficult!!! The people that are coming in are generally coming in as couple just married, or old folks. The ones who are available are so desperate they don't know how to have a real relationship, they just seem to want sex and hope the rest works out... No thanks. I have high standards for myself.
I live on Kauai, what you say is largely true. You can check the Census Data, Hawaii overall is one of those places where there are more men than women through most age groups. And on the neighbor Islands there are very few single people in general. There are plenty of single men but not single women, seems like nearly all women are married or have a boyfriend. Plus lots of dirty hippies. If you are a white man and start dating a local person it's quite possible that she will have a brother, father, uncle or cousin that doesn't like haole and you may have a little bit of a problem to overcome.
