I was getting noise from the transmission with the clutch out prior to pulling the truck into the garage. It could be the throw out bearing or the input shaft bearing. Need to check inside the transmission anyways as it was run low last time I was out.

Did you ever finish the rebuilding? I ha e a very worn 5 speed off the backend of a 200sx that won't stay in second and is very loud. Ive never rebuilt a transmission but build heavy machinery so I feel if there a good basics video I can do it.

I did get it back together. I thought I had a video of re assembly up but I guess I don't. It is fairly easy to reassemble once it you see how it comes apart. I will see if I have footage from reassembly.

@@i2edeye I would very much appreciate it. I'm stuck between rebuilding this or I have a 5 speed supposedly out of a 240z but I believe its out of an 80 720 that's about 6 inches longer that I'll have to throw in and get a driveline for

@@LuckySOBGarage There is also a shorter 720 5 speed in 83-4 regular bed trucks. I am on the hunt for one actually.

So i dug through my footage, I think that was a case of hitting the wrong button back then. Couldn't find it. Sorry. They are super simple to put back together though, especially if you have been inside a heavy equipment gearbox.

So are you running a divorced transfer case on the datsun?

I am running an adapter that slips onto the back of the transmission.

O okay. I have a solid axle datsun. But im trying to gather ideas of what engine and transmission combos i can go with.

@@jvg6205 Divorced opens up a lot of options. I basically used what I had. If I was to build another one, I would probably just fork out for an atlas t-case and be done with it.
