i do regret that dave is forced to do this, he knows he shouldnt, stand-up is his greatest podium, tv shows directly manipulate his opinion, and this is also why he asks no one bring a cellphone to his stand-up, his opinion when viewed from the perspective outside the narrative he conveys misconstrues the intent in which it was said, humorous and intelligent

That's what dialog is all about. People have become so polarized and tribal, but if you can't communicate with each other, it's all over. You can support someone and disagree with them, and you can disapprove of someone but recognize when they've said something true. That's what freedom of expression is all about.

It did fail. Instead of putting away users and getting them help while locked up, we made it a big crime and never solved the root cause, which was addiction. Some people got addicted, some did not. Put the major dealers behind bars for life, period. Including the doctors who prescribed drugs to addicts illegally for money.
Trump has lowered the unemployment rate, strengthened our economy, slowed the rate of illegals coming into the US, repealed the trash called OBAMACARE, brought jobs back to the US, etc.
Dave Chappelle may be the best communicator alive today. Agree with the man or not, the way he conveys his thoughts and position lands on it's target every single time. We need more Dave Chappelle in this world.

Dave Chappelle is like Meta Mark Twain. It's divine perspective matched with legendary charisma. How many enemies does Dave Chappelle have? Not enough compared to all the real ass shit he says. It's because he understands perspective and the funny ways everyone's intermingle. Everybody can laugh at themselves when he speaks. Hope he doesn't lose this in the wave of pressure to conform.
People respect Kanye a whole lot more from the production side, that being said, his first three albums were bonafide classics and as a cohesive package are some of the greatest hip hop albums. Also, listen to Ultralight Beam for recent amazing production.
Tell that to the cultists who would thank Trump if he farted in their faces and who never question anything he says; or the cultists who start shaking uncontrollably if you say men and women are different. You'll see them in this comment section based on the title alone.
@@cherrybomber2972 what if, like.... No it's to progressive. Well, what if started actually voting in people who think before spouting canned garbage. Ah nvm I'm just wasting everyone's time.
Haider Hasan well yeah that’s true but those specials Dave already had written down years before Netflix was just the company that paid him to do the standup Dave gotta write some more specials or maybe he asking for more money
Chappelle is an American genius. His irreverent humor is social commentary - he’s not perfect - but he’s funny, insightful and he refuses to sell-out his gift.
You worded it perfectly, I'm a 28 year old white male, and everything Dave has said throughout interviews or his stand up has really made me rethink my own biased thoughts and I hope, has made me a better and more acceptable human being.
I get so annoyed when people call Dave Chappelle now a clone cause he's older and more mature, he's always been intelligent, nothing wrong with growing
I3atosai Lots has been said about Chappelle. I’m glad it’s all coming out in bits now. Those who know him, understand his work. To any patriot, God bless you 🙏🏾
When Chappelle stops using the N-word he gets respect. The N-word was used at public hangings and slave auctions and he says it to make his white audiences laugh! He'll be making N-word jokes next we. He's no better than Al Jolson or Howard Stern.
i think there was some sort of event he held recently like 2 or so days ago, u can probably find it here on youtube. he definitely addressed everything going on rn
And while the rich get richer and the poor even poorer and made homeless during this deadly global pandemic, with people of color bearing the brunt of infections, suffering, and deaths, Kanye West runs a sham Presidential campaign in an effort to steal votes from Biden and throw the election to racist plutocrat Toxic Trump, the person most responsible for all the senseless deaths, suffering, and economic destruction, who gives tax cuts to the wealthy and works to take away the working-class poor's health insurance.
I'm not as sure about his intelligence as I am about his WISDOM...he boiled the argument and the scenario down to it's purest level (he didn't use any big words, he just spoke the truth from his heart)...it was actually moving and emotional for me.
Such an enlightened comment. "Hit the thumbs up for me please, since I'm talking about a show that literally everyone loved!" That show and his specials were/are great, but he was terrible during this interview. The fact that he still calls Kanye a genius, when he's clearly mentally ill -- as is our orange orangutan in chief -- is disturbing. The fact that he cannot call out Trump as the racist fascist that he is is sad. I thought Dave was never afraid to speak his mind. He was either afraid or really, really politically naive. Saying baseless platitudes does nothing for the left. We need celebrities like him to be unabashed leftists instead of this milquetoast nonsense.
Sulfuric Anal Juice I found an interesting page on the topic. It might be an interesting read for you: www.gq.com/story/why-angry-white-men-love-calling-people-cucks
I just think that for you to be a great comedian your IQ needs to be superior than average. Actually to be a creative it's very likely they are. Creatives don't make much of the population I remember someone saying 1%(?) But pls don't quote me on that one ahah. And I say real creatives, a lot of ppl like to think they are when in reality if they did the test it would most likely score 0% as most of the population.
I hate people like you. They are fucking comedians, they learn to make any messed up, twisted and or crazy scenario sound funny/logically sound. That is their job. They are not politicians, they are not philosophers. They don't know shit about any of it, they just have superficial ideas regarding it.
Dave Chappelle is actually a very wise and grounded guy - very intelligent and well-spoken. I really enjoyed listening to him speak about his opinions on politics and the current state of our country.
MasterAquatics : I have to disagree Dave Chappelle can't compare with Legends such as Miss Diana Ross missing Aretha Franklin James Brown and some are living Legends Dave Chappelle is out of his league with the for mention
Nah, he's kind of a nut case actually. Had a big flip out a while back. I'm surprised he's trying to wiggle his way back into the spotlight after all the things he said about hollywood and show business.
Dude also said "trickle down" and not "supply side".....really shows you how deep that well flows..... But, eh! At LEAST, he SAID, "It's about the ideas", even if he didn't mean it, glad to hear it.
Ben Jealous probably had better answers, however, the problem is that he was misrepresenting reality. Democrats are the lessor of two evils. They certainly don't stand for "civil rights protections and the environment". Jake, do you have a good non corporate source for daily news?
And that is the problem with America. Too many idiots listening to "comedians" instead of listening to the people who know what they are talking about. Anyone who understand economics and politics can see the good DT is doing. Those who listen to comedians and other idiots, well, they just start this cycle of misinformation and it spreads like a virus.
L2THEC1 That made me LOL! I was just on here to look at the comments of the brainwashed Libtards, saw your post and it cracked me up. Thanks for the laugh. Good stuff!
It is fucking funny, when the white guy starts talking about the drug battle failing look at Dave’s face hahahah he is a fucking legend Dave Chapelle kicks ass
Totally agree, I'm over it. I really wouldn't put the Democrats in the same box though. They are not doing it to the level the Republicans are doing it. I listened to a debate and one of the politician kept scapegoating the other wasn't doing that, I wish people would demand more from their leaders.
The division is necessary. Are you asking people to stand with racists and rapists? You're more worried about division, then the attack on people. No more division! Yells, the white person that lives in city that's 95% white, goes to school that's 95% white, etc. If you truly don't want division, start in your community.
“Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.” - JFK
evil confutation's by those that say so don't mean what they say is right. Do you really believe the Civil war was for slavery john Willes? That's what the media says but that's not what the war was about. The federalist wanted to control the south and the south rebelled. // The war ended in 1865. The Emancipation Proclamation passed the Congress by one vote in 1865 after the the Confederates States Of America Surrendered. // Lincoln wanted to ship the Negros back to the Continent of Africa! CNN is backed by George Soros. Look him up. He's not about America, Americans. // The Dem's no longer have a plan for our beloved America other then to Change the Constitution, Join the Pacific Alliance and become the Socialist Republic of the USA! Socialism always turns into a dictatorship. Look at What is happening in South Africa as I type.
Whitey Mamasan If a murderer breaks into your home to murder you but you end up defending yourself and killing him, does that make you a murderer or was it your human/constitutional right to protect yourself? Same with racism. Our response to racism doesn’t make us racist. We’re so not racist that all we want is an equal opportunity in our country. You act like the kkk don’t exist. They run our police, politics and prison system and racist think the problem is us and think we’re the racist? Racism is truly a mental illness and all of y’all need to be institutionalized and forgotten about.
he is compromised, he knows that this show is bullshit, but he participates among party lines, because he wants his $$$ and wants his career marketability. it's smart from a career and $$$ perspective, but not for the truth and not for our benefit. His name is being used to influence you, and he knows it.
The Chappelle Show actually taught me about sexual consent. It was a skit Dave did about "The Love Contract". Get a girl to sign a contract before engaging in intercourse.
Yes move beyond parties. Move beyond gender. Love beyond race. It's the PERSON, their actions, thoughts and plans to go after and vote for. Come on America.
I tell people this, but they still want to stay with one idea. Other groups are unimportant as long as the leader doesn't dislike their own group, that's the kind of vibe im getting today.
Which is exactly why I voted republican. When you remove all the superficial gender and race politics, you realize right away that that was the only thing democrats had going for them. They're chasing a ghost. It's not real. That's why conservative is the correct choice right now. They work with statistics and facts which transcend race and gender. Too bad Liberals can't see that. That's why all they are doing is screaming and yelling and foaming at the mouth. They mistake empirical data for being "racist" or "misogynistic", it's truly sad to watch. They don't have any real issues, and certainly don't have any real solutions. I'd rather live in the real world.
I love and adore Dave Chappell, he’s a beautiful dude with such an introspective Mind. I’d love to hear Dave speak about what’s happening now in 2020, I know he’s not happy and can put it into perspective to people who are happy with Trump and happy with the unrest in this country. He has an amazing way of opening peoples eyes and hearts to important issues. He’s a deep genius! He’s someone to stand behind when he speaks, because he doesn’t get on stage and lie about his true feelings about the state of our country. He’s just a great man, an Amazing stand-up, and a genius!
DESERT STORM WAR hey dumb-ass just because u drop ur lame, ignorant comment all over the place, doesnt mean ur stupidity will rub off on us. go troll else where.
@joe buffalo we know you are in pain still..uncle Bob touching you must have troubled you deeply..but,you are in your 40s now, quit going camping with him you fucking idiot!
I think the issue is just how hard it is to gather evidence on this issue. I think early on newspapers did well by looking for a preponderance of evidence, basically allowing some clarity of the picture to emerge through many sources. The Kavanough case didn't have that, but his behavior during the investigation (which should have been looked into) was deserving of condemnation.
Tyler Reed I don't agree with that argument at all. Being upset during a trial does not make you guilty of a crime, especially if he was wrongfully accused. By the way, I have no idea what happened. There is not enough evidence to say either side is right or wrong, no matter what people believe. You can never condemn someone based on no evidence. Condemn him for lying under oath? Absolutely. Not because you felt he was angry. I wasn't even talking just this case though but, yeah, that's an example.
@@NicoleReign Since the Summer of 2016, my life has changed in two significant ways. For my mental and spiritual well-being my consumption of social media (Facebook, Blogs, etc.), as well as broadcast news, has greatly declined. I've lost friends (Military and locally) and far too much time dialoguing with individuals who simply refuse to deal in the reality of the state of affairs in this country. I had an Army buddy, from Texas, who told me that the prior administration was the most divisive in American history. I suppose politics and religion (spiritual beliefs, customs, differing methods of worshipping, or the lack thereof) are very much subjective. I can understand that and further understand the advice to never talk politics or "religion." I find it refreshing, Ms. N'Cole, that you mentioned the very thing that was only superficially mentioned, that Kavanah LIED UNDER OATH. Unless I'm badly mistaken, perjury in these committees is a felony. I find it frustrating that this slid to the back burner. I find it insulting that elected officials, regardless of party, did not make this an issue. This man was SUPPOSED to have been examined and compared to the strict standards of one who WAS BEYOND REPROACH. This man was an SC Justice from the moment he was nominated because that's what the ruling party wanted. It doesn't require a giant intellect to understand that limited investigation conducted by the FBI, for another week, was just a bone tossed, a redirection of the real issue. With the time between this alleged assault and the actual reporting of the complaint, there was no real way to produce any evidence of substance. As far as him being angry or indignant because of these women's accusations, I get that. As far as the hearing about what Dr. Ford said he did, his actions did not to me, and most other objective people, inspire any confidence in his, Kavanaugh's, ability to be worthy of being confirmed to the highest Court in America and arguably in the world. In closing, I'd like to apologize for the length of this reply. As I mentioned initially I don't do this often and I suppose this is the reason why. The things that he lied about, he was young and made some bad decisions. That's all he had to say, and this whole dog and pony show would have been a non-event. The rant about the Clintons and whatever else he said were unnecessary and not at all Supreme Court like. There is scripture that says something about a man remaining silent and be thought a fool than to open his mouth and remove all doubt. This might apply to this whole situation. Peace & Love
@@NicoleReign I think you have misinterpreted what I said. I said that Kavanough should have faced condemnation for his behavior during the hearings, by which I mean his deliberate partisan outbursts and disrespect toward senators asking relatively straight foward questions, was totally disqualifying of being a supreme court justice. So he should have been denied the seat, and should have faced social opprobrium. That is not me saying he should have been facing some sort of conviction.
Tyler Reed Oh for sure. I don't think he needs to be a Supreme Court judge, but I don't think a lot of people in politics need to be where they are so...what do I know 😂
Here's what I take away from this: Dave and Kanye have a history together, either directly (Kanye appeared on Dave's show twice and is featured in Block Party) or indirectly, so Dave's possibly got perspective on the man, as a person and as an artist, that a lot of us don't have. Dave also knows what it's like to be labeled "crazy" or "lost his mind" following the Chappelle's Show departure and trip to Africa in 2006. At the very least, whether he believes in what Kanye's saying or not and despite Kanye's own disclosure about being bipolar (which he recently said he was "misdiagnosed") or other mental conditions, Dave's being very careful with his words because he doesn't want to perpetuate a stereotype about "black celebrities going crazy".
Sure sure sure, but let us be honest for a moment, Kayne lost it, and I am truely sorry I don't mean to come off as being codacending, buuut if you can't see he is, you just can't tell normal stable from crazy and unstable, I wish him well I really do but let us atleast be honest about it for a second, "race" has no place in that talk and I honestly see 0 reason to why it should be, plenty of cray crau white people, so let us just look objectively at it, Kayne has been under preassure for too long, it has affected him, diagnosed or not diagnosted, he needs time off and propably would help getting him medicine, god bless him.
Dustin Chandler, that is a very interesting point of view. However, there is vast difference in the presumed craziness of the 2, but I get what you're saying.
Let me clarify: I never said this was how *I* perceive Kanye's mental stability or that I agreed with Dave calling him a genius or that I even agreed with Kanye meeting with Trump. All I'm saying is that there's a likely reason why Dave, of all the people asked or who've spoken out on the situation, would say what he said without immediately calling into question his thought process. My comment was all about deconstructing Dave's remarks, not deconstructing Kanye.
“The worst thing to call somebody is crazy. It's dismissive. "I don't understand this person. So they're crazy." - Dave Chappelle Isn't that exactly what CNN did to Kanye?
The guy admitted to getting liposuction because he was afraid TMZ would make fun of his weight. If that's not being a sheep , I don't know what is. Sudden insane outburst on TV during Hurricane Katrina coverage. Crying about being 50 million in debt, begging people for money on Instagram, hahaha just wow. Kanye has literally admitted to several psychological diagnoses, years ago, look it up. All this has been common knowledge for years, sure is getting old explaining it to all these sudden brand new diehard fans who think we only started calling him crazy because of the hat.
There are instances when someone is misunderstood & thought to be crazy, there are other instances where a person truly has a mental illness. Kanye prides himself on standing up for his beliefs regardless of what the majority says, Kanye also stated that the ppl had him feeling so poorly abt himself & insecure that he felt the need to get liposuction. He is a walking contradiction, some think of him as a liar and a hypocrite, others think there's something deeper than that involved such as a mental illness. Apparently u think he's just a liar and a hypocrite.
Dave is a COMEDIAN. He has earned his money by making people LAUGH. And though he has perfected that art like anybody else, it's fucking DISTURBING that between those three talking, a comedian, a journalist, and a politician, is Dave, the comedian, who is CLEARLY the smartest, more insightful person in the room.
I keep seeing this joke but I don't know the context. I know who Ja Rule is I just don't remember seeing anyone asking him his opinion about something serious.
Kanye is not a musical genius. He used a blueprint formulated by lesser known Black artists living in the community, in other words- the larger Black culture that already exists and continuously innovating new sounds and styles.
hardly a musical genius though... creative sure very much so, but calling him a musical genius is a slight to all the true musical prodigies throughout history
He seem like he's more politically down to earth then most politician I have listened to.dave chappelle would be a much better president than trump..😂🇺🇲
Politics affect comedians too, as they are citizens like everybody else. Comedians are not meteorologists, but they opine on the weather because when it rains they get wet. Comedians are not doctors, but they opine on the healthcare system because they get sick. Comedians are not criminologists, but they opine on policing because they have to interact with the police. Comedians are professionals of finding the humor in horror, the comedy in calamity. Comedians provide the spoonful of sugar when the medicine is otherwise unpalatable. It’s a refreshing public service and especially necessary in our present moment. It just so happens that comedians, like everyone else on the ship, have a personal stake in the political tides.
Possibly the greatest comedian ever. Or at least on par with the top. His legacy is amazing, from stand up, to being a marginalized minority in a tough time and over coming it with some semblance of positivity and hope. This man is a pure soul. I hope he does more in politics. Even if it's to be a modern image of a specimen of a human. That and the dudes funny as hell.
Whoever can make you laugh your ass off, is a genius... Well, some comedian or general people didn't realize it or maybe they use it just that particular, to make people laugh... Man like Dave Chappelle is a complete combo... He use his intelligence to make jokes about reality and to make you think harder while you laugh it off... He's one of a kind...
A truly humane comedian, people want to bash him for his jokes from the surface. But if you really listen to his meaning, he makes the best argument. I've gotten some of my far right friends to reconsider their political views simply by introducing them to his stand up. He is a master of his craft and uses that ability to the best for our country💯
I've been removing 'I'm sorry' from my vocabulary because it's fake. To apologize when you don't really mean it is stupid. To lean to not say something or say I shouldn't have said something is actually a lot better than apoloizing or saying sorry when you're not.
cre8gnr8nrg 💯. Iyanla Vanzant has been particularly helpful with this, especially for women. We tend to say “sorry” for eeeeevvvvvveeeeerrrrryyyyything. Even in foot traffic, I’ve stopped doing that. Good for you!
What Dave said about trump is the most accurate thing someone ever said about him, trump is only pandering to his fanbase he never ever says anything for anyone outside his obsessive base and this will be his downfall
@@djkat8514 hes funny but the moment I saw CNN my heart sank. Idk about Chappelle but the man on the right called trump's victory a whitelash. Imagine fox news calling Obama's victory a blacklash.

funny yes, intelligent no, i dont know whats so hard to understand, kanye is preaching about indentured servitude, please look up that term, it’s important if your an american.
His producing ability is what makes people love him. His ability to use the art of sampling is amazing. And he has one of the greatest discographies in hip hop. Besides that though, he is completely mad and nuts, and although good intentions, he is off his rocker and has no idea what he is saying.
He has won 21 Grammys. You don't have to like the guy to admit that he is a master at crafting music. But you guys will find a way to insult his intelligence either way.
