David Carr played QB for the Texans, Panthers, Giants, and 49ers from 2002 to 2012 Throughout his 11 year career, Carr threw for 14,452 yards and 65 touchdowns Fun Fact: David Carr was the first draft pick in Houston Texans history
Watching him school dak in a throwing contest made me look for highlights. He's a far better prospect than I remember. What a shame that his line got him destroyed.
This video makes me sad for the man. Can’t imagine what kind of success he would have had if he was drafted into a winning organization. Andre Johnson was something else.
Here's a fact, Derek. Your brother got more playing time in Houston than any other team he played on. In fact every other team he played on didn't want him touching a football because they were too afraid of him taking a chance and they relegated him to permanent bench warmer. Sometimes the best players are the ones that are constantly overlooked.
They’re sending 7 so the ball should be out immediately. You do have a point, the OL was atrocious, but Carr could have made them look less atrocious or the scheme doesn’t have hot routes which would be even worse.
I’ll never forget a magazine cover that was “photoshopped” possibly before they had photoshop to remove the OL minus the center with 9 in the box with David Carr
He was truly great just got put on that damn Texans team No protection Running around scrambling just to make a play really messed up his career I’m pretty sure that he bench press 500 also
No, he was a bust. Houston had a lot of talent on their team but he kept making rookie mistakes that kept the team from scoring points that were needed to win games. What's even more disappointing about his career is that after he got traded, no one wanted him even touching a football because he was prone to getting sacked or throwing an ill-advised pass that leads to pick sixes.
Dude had an incredible arm, no doubt about that and was hands down the overall better athlete of the Carr brothers. Watched every single one of his games here in Houston and he just never developed the mental part of the game. Historically poor protection was absolutely a big part of the problem. Could he have developed on a more established team with a decent o line? Maybe. He was still only 27 when he left the Texans and still never developed one bit for the rest of his career. Who knows what could have been
How about... Tony “Wiseguy” Graziani Doug “No! Not Pederson!” Johnson Chris “Chewing Tobacco” Redman Tom “Yeah I’m a backup QB turned punter! So what about it!?” Tupa
He got sacked 76 times in one season which is a record. 76 times let thst sink in and you really think he's going to flourish under those circumstances? An NFL bust is a Leif or Manziel but not a Carr.
I was in high school and bought his jersey. He was definitely good but his team held him back. Texans first qb and they couldn't do anything for him smh
He probably still wakes up from nightmares of Robert Mathis sacking him. (Among others) Why the Texans never were able to get him any o-line help is befuddling.
His throwing motion is so weird. It looks like he wastes 20% of his power with that funny arm slot. I was in the Bay when he came to the Niners, and after watching him throw for a quarter I turned it off.
David Carr had a world class, major league arm. His agent did him wrong by not holding out, requesting to be traded to another squad intead of going into a no chemistry expansion team w bad coaches. Eli and Bo Jackson did it w much success. What a waste of talent IMO
