Editing a map called School, from an upcoming WAD by nrgrth. I suggest some adjustments to the map to make it more visually interesting or to aid its gameplay.

Thank you very much for the video! I made some minor changes after I sent the map to you, but just some visuals I edited, nothing that really changed the gameplay or the small areas. 12:50 that was supposed to be a broken light bulb! 😂 But it's not necessary anyway, I just wanted to seek a bit of realism with some minor details that might be noticed if the player stops to see what's in the darkness. 13:03 that's true, I'm taking some risks, but I wanted to make something different of what is often made by the community, something sinister and with realistic and very detailed ambients, idk. Episode 2 will go completely against this tho, if I ever make episode 2! Haha 14:10 indeed! 😂 But BD has some cool things, like that broken cars and some different monsters, after you get used to it in UDB, it gets easier to handle. 1:11:35 I laughed so hard at that! 😂😂😂 Unfortunately, you can't leave the turret if something blocks you, so you gotta be quick and try to avoid letting them sorround you, I think it adds to the challenge too, idk. Again, thank you very much for the video! I really liked the changes you made and I'm definitely taking some of them. I'm currently working on the second map, something around 60% of it is already done. I'd like to point that every little detail I implemented has some explanation in the lore I'm coming up with, and I'll fit some of your changes into that as well, I'm trying to tell little side stories with the visuals, like the beds and the corpses that show some hard combats happened there, also the turrets themselves that were implemented by the marines and there are two corpses laying by them too. Well, I'm still coming up with a main lore and these kind of side little stories, that'll be revealed when the episode gets finished.

In keeping with the theme of the video, it feels like people are submitting their wads to you like students handing in their homework. It's nice that you take into account the original style and try to work with that and give appropriate suggestions. I do like the idea of relating the appearance of a new monster to the death of a previous one, it paces the fight nicely.

Thanks to this video I just found out the way to spawn Monsters wherever and whenever I want to, Thank you sir! Time to get rid of all those old teleports linedefs traps

You legend! I've always been here for a tutorial or two, and I'm sure it's lodsewerk more than just blind playthroughs.. but much like yellow background™ of decino and its association with engine knowledge, you can 100% expand and hold your audience if you focus on your everyman-rich tutorial for WADs-n-mods. ❤️✌️❤️

Hey David, question: how do you toggle between viewing the sectors and the sky when in the 3D viewer mode?

Haha, sorry - I typed an answer, went over to UDB to check and then forgot to submit! It’s Tab, which toggles displaying all the special effects like ramps and 3D floors and dynamic lights along with skies. There’s also an action to only disable the sky, but you have to set a keyboard shortcut up for it yourself as it doesn’t have a default one

Now i'm kinda curious and got me thinking.. I have a map where the layout is pretty much done. Problem is: i kinda fell off and i both don't want and can't finish it. There are just other things i'm into right now. So i'm wondering...do you want to finish it? It's not a super huge map and as i said, the layout and intended path is pretty much done. Though you could be creative and switch things around.
