At 4:15 they tell you carbs make your blood sugar go up, then give you carb-laden foods. You're the kid who saw that the emperor had no clothes.

Congratulations.... I've been doing nutritional ketosis (healthy keto) for 3 years..... I reversed massive inflammation, neuropathy, burning tingling hands and feet, arthritis in my l4 l5 area of my back, reversed bulging disc and a pinched nerve. I totally proved that low carb, moderate protein, high fat, low carb veggies is the key to restoring one's health. Again Congratulation..👍

I`m currently battling with one certified nutritionist that we don`t need lots of carb. He keeps throwing mantras about bad health effects and low energy if one will consume less that 100 grams per day, he recommends at least 200 !

Remarkable, Wao, how easily he manage parties. Recently I came across 4 years old type 1 kid in Pakistan, my story as under: I reversed my diabetes from HBa1c 6.8 to HBa1c 5.3 last year with diet control and lifestyle change, since then I love to study the basics of weight reduction, diabetes, insulin resistance, type 1,2, PCOs and chronic diseases associated with diabetes. My next step started when I volunteer myself to help others to get rid of this chronic disease, helped fifty plus diabetic people who are fully satisfied now. Muhammad Aliyan case is a unique case, he is 4 years old with type-1 diabetes , his mother came to me in February 2022, she was literally crying on the condition of her child, on our first sitting I guided her about the basics of Type-1 diabetes, she is an intelligent mother, she followed each and every step very wisely and within two and a half months we got excellent HBa1c 11.5 to HBa1c 6.9, with minimum usage of insulin, since then he is also student of playgroup in my school, (doctors were reluctant to send him to school with his condition), I know it is a long journey for that kid but at least the start is very good and hopefully next results will be more promising.

@ 14:08 , First, great presentation and good health to you. In your experience HOW MUCH does protein raise your BS's, and does TYPE of protein make any difference, i.e. red meat beef vs, lean chicken breast vs. protein POWDERS if you use them? Do you have a ballpark number or formula of grams of protein to milligrams of blood sugar that you use to determine portions & intake? Thanks, and Live Long And Prosper!

When do you bolus the R-Insulin, when you begin your meal? If I bolus more than 1 unit of R-Insulin with a 50-70 gram protein meal, I go hypo, but we are all unique. I am new to R-Insulin, yet my main issue is that I limit my slow carbs to 10g per meal. When I take my bolus, I go hypo, since my R-Insulin takes affect within 30-40 minutes, yet the protein won't really affect my blood sugar for about 3 hours.

One quick question. If you are taking glucose every day, then are you experiencing lows to cause you to take it?
@daviddikeman7423
@daviddikeman7423 Год назад
Low carb is not a cure for diabetes. If you are a person with type 1 diabetes, you always have to be on your toes and check blood sugars (very) regularly. On Bernstein's very low carb diet, you will typically be using much milder and much less insulin. Therefore any lows or any blood sugars approaching lows will be easily treated with a few grams of glucose. In contrast, if you are eating a high carb diet and have ten or even twenty units of rapid acting insulin onboard, you have the potential for very severe hypoglycemia. Avoiding severe hypoglycemia is a main reason for eating low carb and is a huge quality of life improvement. But I still have to take glucose with me and monitor very careful - that's just the nature of the condition.

Sorry that your way of speaking makes it difficult for foreigners to understand anything, that has not been readable on the slides.. Now I understand why some DB1 colleagues or friends do not follow that regiment: - this huge amount of proteins must be very expensive, - this special regiment might make social life and some activities like travels a bit more difficult..

Not so You save money actually. Less carbs means less meds needed and fewer groceries that aren't protein and you tend to get your money's worth with protein. Multiple servings, multiple meals, ground beef can be seared and made into tacos one night and Chili another. Multiple meals, one ingredient. Unlike Carby single serve meals. Sure, it may cost more up front but it stretches farther and this saves you money ultimately. Second There's plenty of work arounds. Taking your own food to social gatherings, throwing away the bun and just eating the burger, etc etc etc There's a never ending list of ways to get around the inconveniences, if you really want to and that's where the hang-up is with most people. They just want to be normal, but being "normal" is a decision and decisions come with outcomes- Rewards or consequences. The decision isn't hard at all. Investigate and test it. Give it a fair and honest trial and keep a watch on glucose. Then, you ask yourself Which system provided me with better glucose results? Did it benefit me meds and price wise? Is this what I want? And you move on from there. Don't be persuaded by adult over thinking. Simplify it Test it Evaluate it Make your decision and move. I think you'll be surprised but it's your decision, not mine. Not your doctor's. Not your nutritionists. This decision is fully yours to make up or down.

Higher fat, moderate protein, low carb is cheaper than high protein. The choice about lifestyle is a no brainer. You want to end up on dialysis or having amputations, then eat whatever you want for your "lifestyle".
