I was always quite happy for David Letterman when he was interviewing someone for whom he clearly had fondness. Like Chris Farley.

Tina Fey said, "Dave is someone you watch not just because you like him, but because you fantasize that he would like you. In fact, you could argue that Mr. Letterman is at his best when he interviews someone you suspect maybe he doesn't like at all. " She's right that he didn't hide that he disliked a guest. No matter who he interviewed, David Letterman was great though.

this is great. could you please post the full tributes for those you have honored over the years. i have noticed several of the videos i had saved that were kennedy center honors videos have been delete...i assume do to copyright issues. since you hosted the event could you please post them on here. there have been so many wonderful performances over the years and i enjoyed rewatching them.

I was hoping for digs at his spanking chasing, House warming debacles.

I used to love David Letterman, but when I found out he had a very long affair with an obscenely young intern (while both were involved with others). I lost respect for him, especially when Dave had used his show to make fun of the intern's (Monty's) boyfriend. I mean, Dave was not only married and had a sexual affair with an intern almost 40 years his junior, but he also made fun of her boyfriend when he had her featured in skits on the show. The U.S. cancels everyone, sometimes for things we later find out the individual didn't even do, but somehow, Letterman mentioned the affair on his show once, and everyone forgave him.
