yes - particularly in Latin America, and Mexico specifically. They really kept the caliber alive as both a civilian and police pistol chambering after it had been nearly abandoned in the US. Then it made a comeback in the 80's as a competition round after improvements to the headspacing and case geometry allowed significant improvements in performance and the range of loadings that could be utilized. It's really a very versatile round and easy to shoot well. They should just go back to calling it the Super 38 - people will assume it's a new 'super' cartridge ;)
