Hey Simran! I stumbled upon your channel while doing some research about UCSC (I'm admitted to class of 2026! yay!) I want to start vlogging little video diaries just for personal use and your video quality is amazing. I want to invest in a camcorder or something to keep the video journals separate from my phone, but I don't really know what to get. Your "College Week In My Life (Freshman at UCSC)" video quality is exactly what I'm looking for. What device were you using to film this video? Any tips/recommendations for vlogging equipment would be great, thanks!

congrats on being ucsc class of 2026!! the camera i used for that video was the sony a5100 i think its an older discontinued model now but i really liked it the only thing is audio can be a bit annoying w that bc it is a bigger camera which is why i now use the canon g7x (i also prefer the g7x bc its easier to hold and use tbh)! besides camera i would just recommend getting a mini tripod to hold it with!

What purses did you take at ucsc to pursue ui/ux? I’m trying to take some classes but the class search is kinda confusing n the advisor didn’t have good suggestions

the only classes related to ux/ui i took were cmpm 80a (accessible games) and cmpm 171 (Human-Centered Design Research) besides that i did as much self learning as i could and joined a research lab on campus!

hi simran! i was wondering if you would say a psych degree of cog. sci degree is better suited for ux design? the understanding I've gotten are both are good, but I was wondering what your personal input is? thank you so much
