Could you do a video on your daily symptoms? (Only if it’s okay for you obviously) I think a lot of people don’t really know how BPD affects people on the day to day 💛🧡
I can’t even begin to tell you how much finding your channel has helped me. I’m 34 & I’ve struggled with mental health since I was a teenager and I’m currently in quite a bad place with it and finding someone who is so honest about their own mental health struggles makes me feel less alone.
DBT is for personality disorders that are cluster B (BPD, anti-social, histrionic narcissistic), which are typically seen as more “dramatic, erratic” presentation and display under-controlled behaviour. But there is also now RO-DBT (radically open-DBT) which an amazing therapy for clusters A & C who are more over-controlled. I work in a personality disorder clinic and really love seeing the progress people can make in therapy. For anyone out there who has worries about going into therapy or reaching out for help, speak with your CMHT or closest health professional. It could really change your life for the better and you deserve to live a fulfilled and happy life 💜
Hahaha how weird is the "act sober" one, i had the exact same remark when we discussed it in session. I'm about to upload my first video about DBT too! i loved this and I love hearing that it's helped others as much as me
Watching this has made me feel so much better about doing DBT, I'm only 17, I've been doing it since I was 16, I was originally referred to CAMHS by my gp and we've been doing DBT skills but we do it in a different way, I only have one session every 2 weeks and I get homework but it's only one sheet that I have to fill in to show I've tried the skills they've taught me, I really enjoyed doing progressive muscle relaxation in distress tolerance as it helps me with sleeping and relaxing when I become really overwhelmed especially when I'm at sixth form. I would really love for you to make another video on DBT skills as it makes me so happy to see I'm not alone and it just makes me laugh because some of the skills are so odd but so helpful 😊 thank you Marie😊
Just wanted to say that you are an inspiration to me. Honestly you've come so far in this past year and I know I don't know you personally but you inspire me to try and get better, do thank you. I love your videos, please keep doing what you're doing. You're amazing, love you 💗
Marie, you help me so much. I’ve watched you since 2016 and honestly, I’ve been through so much since then. I’m currently having CBT therapy and this video has made me so motivated to do my therapy work because tbh it’s a chore sometimes 😂❤️I’m so glad to see you happier than before you’re so beautiful! Thank you for helping so many of us and talking about topics to do with mental health xxx
Thank you for making this video, Marie. I've recently been assessed for DBT and I'm still waiting to get the results back. Thank you for always informing and educating, you are one of my favourite RU-vidrs x
I’ve been watching some of your videos and they have been the only thing so far recently that are making me feel motivated and at least slightly consider trying to get through this instead of committing suicide
DBT was so helful i can't stress this video enough!! (ik im a bit late lol) but anyways here in finland we had a lil diffrent kind of diarysheet. It didn't include anything about drugs or alcohol but it had like free space in each of the days where you could write if you did anything other impulsive besides self harm. We also had all of the taught skills listed in the sheet so it was very helpful! Love you btw, you are doing so good spreading all this!!!
I should've watched this when it came out, I only started DBT in February and this came out a couple days before my birthday as well and at this time I wasn't actively doing the skills they taught me because I felt stupid and this has made me feel better about it
You have helped me so much I wish I could DM or message you but I don't think you'd see but I started CBT recently because groups haven't worked for me and I felt so guilty for it not really working but your therapy video where you also didn't like CBT kind of reassured me abit and I just relate to you SO much and in your 50 facts about me there was so many similarities aha!! I acc love you so much yu absolute babe xxxx❤️❤️❤️
aaaa haha i first commented when i was half through the video but I have to comment again, soo many things of this resonate with me. When people bash sleep hygiene haha! me as f. "we're gonna do this non judgementally" "dont f-in ask me to half smile, it won't work" hahaha this is amazing! So so relatable
DBT helped me the most out of all the therapies I've been in but it's been just about a year since I finished and I've completely forgotten how to use all the techniques etc and I also never understood, used or liked mindfulness. I'm guessing you've finished it now n do you still use these techniques etc? Thankyouuuuu xxx
I've just started CBT and I'm not going to lie, I'm the sort of person who just thinks ugh Mindfulness and wise mind is never going to work for me lmao but after watching this video I think I'm going to try and pay some more attention to it instead of just automatically switching off when my therapist is talking about ix
Yes exactly, it isn’t for everyone! It used to stress me out so much because I felt I couldn’t do it, I learnt just to practice and now I love it. I hope you’re okay my love, therapy isn’t always the answer straight away. I can tell things will get better for you, you’re very self aware and that’s so important ❤️⭐️
marieroseeee i completly agree i think as long as you accept that things need to change then you dont always need therapy if it got worse and i was on longer able to see both sides then i may look at therapy again xx
I have bpd myself & will be finished in 2 weeks. I personally don't find it very effective. Does anyone have any advice on anything else for treatment ideas? X
