I appreciate that. I’m not nearly as big or strong as most people who do it, but I feel like I have the concepts down pretty well and trained with DC for most of my lifting career.
Love this series and appreciate you taking the time to film, edit and explain the training and exercises. I have a levergym and a squat rack and have been giving this a try with a bit of imagination to get the variation of the exercises but enjoying. Thanks a lot, Andy
Thanks so much! I feel like a lot of my creativity in training came from trying to DC with limited equipment. Luckily, the Levergym gives you a lot of exercises in one piece.
Thank you sharing about DC training! Other than the calf work, do you pay attention to tempo for the other lifts? Or something more like - control eccentric, pause, explosive concentric, repeat?
Thanks for watching. You got it. I don’t count rep speed for other exercises. At one point, Dante recommended just going slow enough on the eccentric that you could change course during the descent. With some of Dante’s advanced techniques, pauses are included, but I typically don’t exaggerate the pause.
I don’t have a chest-supported row machine. However, compared to the ones I used in commercial gyms, yes. The arms work independently and I have greater adjustability with my bench.
I posted some pictures on IG a while back. I had to start my deload around the 7-8 week mark. This time around, probably because of my age and because I was recovering from being sick, I didn’t progress for 10+ weeks like I did 10 years ago. However, this program gave me a good foundation for where I am now…I am heavier than I’ve been in more than 7 years.
@@burntgod7165 this is the 2 Way Split done 3 days a week. Many years ago, I briefly tried the 3 Way Split done 4 days a week, but I saw my best results with the 2 Way Split.
That depends on a lot of factors. If a new exercise is introduced, if it’s an exercise with a stretch, if there is a big jump in reps on a given set, etc.
I loved it in my 20s and 30s, but in my 40s, I didn’t feel like I could recover from the program and I like to train more frequently than the DC 2 Way and 3 Way Splits.
Many of the settings I use, especially for pressing with the Levergym, are to protect my left shoulder. I’ve tried to increase my ROM at times, and it just re-aggravates old injuries.
