DCS World - Viggen vs. Destroyers 

The RB-15's didn't get fired upon mostly because of their altitude. I launched them from low altitude, and they got even lower after that, making it too hard for the destroyers' radar to distinguish them from ground (sea) clutter. If you do the same thing, but launch them from 150m, they absolutely do get taken out by interception missiles. As for overall difficulty, if you stick to the plan (scan from 350-400m, drop to 50-70m once markpoints are made, egress at 20m or less) it's super easy. If you deviate significantly from that by being too high and too close, it's almost impossible.

@@Viking355thI have always wondered a lot about surface ships,they cost a lot,like I read at wikipedia that an arleigh burke (1.8 billion) cost as much as 600 patriot unit(3 million),the ship has 90 vls,with the sam viechles you get 2400 vls,if ships has relatively few firepower,what do they do to prevent destruction from saturation attacks?are navy ships such as destroyers and aircraft carriers and frigates too expensive to rival the air force, or is there is something that I am misunderstanding?because it seems for me that naval warfare is a who can shoot more missiles competition for me,I hope you understand, fantastic video btw.

​@@eliahaj6503 In modern fleet vs. fleet battles, missile saturation is the primary offensive tactic, along with the possibility of some stealthy submarine actions that DCS doesn't really facilitate. You're quite right that the fleet that can launch more missiles than the opposition can destroy is very likely to win. The main reason to prefer a ship over a much larger number of ground-based weaponry is simply the ability to travel at sea. The Royal Navy kept Britain safe from Napoleon AND the Nazis. If every gun on every ship were just being moved overland by horses or trucks, they'd all be speaking French or German over there. Ships are expensive and vulnerable, but the ability to dominate a region of the sea is arguably worth the risk and expense. On paper, 600 Patriot batteries might seem like a better deal than 90 VLS tubes, but how you use those assets can make a huge difference to the outcome of a conflict.
