Sadly, that's a bug, so there's nothing you can do until it's fixed. For what it's worth, HB has mentioned that the fix is in progress, so there's a decent chance it'll be in the next patch.
30mm ADEN gunpod Muzzle velocity: 795 m/s (2,610 ft/s) (30 × 111 mm NATO). NATO 20 mm × 102 mm (M-61 Vulcan) Muzzle Velocity 1,050 M/s For those of you who wanted to actual figures on the two guns.
Just got DCS and the Viggen is my first module, I've watched a couple of youtube vids so far but your descriptions seem to click with me best, many thanks!
I just bought the Viggen, after careful consideration, as my first aircraft. I've seen many videos as I begin to get a grasp on it, but none as good as this. I'm glad I found your guides!
Yet again mate, another excellent vid , albeit with only 2 braincells in working order I'll probably watch this at least 3 times lol. going off tangent a little, do you have deadzone / curves on pitch , roll, rudders ?, I have the warthog system and find that i just cannot get the a/c to run straight while taxiing, and while in the air I always seem to be side slipping even when the trim is dead level. any advice greatly appreciated. keep up the good work mate.👍
Thanks! I do have some pretty heavy rudder curves on the Viggen, I think it’s in the low 20s. There’s also a bind for centering the roll trim, maybe give that a few taps to make sure accidental roll trim isn’t the issue.
One thing I’ve been doing is using radio commands to send illumination rather than the illumination rockets - not too bad todo in the Mission Editor and works great!
Bizarre question, under normal operations in real life after they fire all of the rockets and a rocket pod is it typical for them to jettison the rocket pod immediately or do they like to take that back to base 99% of the time to reuse it and save money.
Those launch pods do cost money, and supply may be limited. IRL, if you dump them without explicit prior permission, you need a good reason, like "an enemy was coming up behind me, and I needed all the speed I could get, in order to escape."
B1 = Brytpunkt 1 (breakpoint 1), where you break your course to the new one. M4 = Mål 4, simply the Swedish word for Target 4. Tad confusing in Google translate, as "mål" also has the meanings of "goal" and "meal", and in archaic form also speech (mål i mun, lit. speech in the mouth)/ language (främmande tungomål, foreign languages spoken).
Thank you for clarification. The viggen is so simple yet so complex at the beggining. The CK37 definitely takes some getting used to but your video has made it so easy to understand !
Would love to see some external view scenes from time to time. And please turn off your control indicator bottom left. Awesome channel, thx man for all the work.
Thanks for the demo. Im absolutely obsessed with the KA-50 Blackshark rn, mainly cause I love helis and its a coaxial rotor single seater and I can learn comfortably on my own and just jump in and do solo missions. VR is pretty sick too. Feels almost scary at times, guess thats why they added the ejection 💺 haha.
I'd consider it if they fixed the guns, but right now, you can can shoot yourself in the face under certain circumstances, because the muzzle velocity of the rounds is so low that you can catch up to them after they've been fired. This also causes inaccuracy with the gunsight, because the sight is expecting the correct muzzle velocity.
Someone has probably already point this out but: The RB24 is your very basic Aim-9B, the RB24J is the Aim-9P3 or the Export Aim-9J, they are both Rear Aspect only and are not all aspect. Now the RB74 which the AJS also carries is All Aspect and is the Aim-9L. Otherwise amazing video and tutorial man! Never seen anything to this quality and detail regarding the Viggen
I don't understand how the computer makes the difference between entering a "time on target" and a "Mach number" at a wpt? I suppose Bx are target points and how to define them in the flight planning?
Interesting. What I’ve picked up from that is given how difficult the compass is to see and manipulate to just use your F2 view to see your heading and go from there. Bit of a cheat I know. I don’t like using active pause as then all your wing mates fly away and have to regroup again.
Hey Viking, These videos for the Viggen are really really great! I recently bought the Viggen and I have fallen in love with it!!! I appreciate your simple style of good information and demonstration. It's easy to follow your instructions and learning the basics of this warbird was a breeze because of these vids. Thanks so much!!!! FireBall
Annoyingly, the setting is in two places, and you need to hit both. 1: Special -> Ka-50 -> Customized Cockpit -> English 2: Gameplay - > Avionics Language -> English One does the animated stuff (ABRIS) and the other does the static cockpit stuff (basically a re-skin.) I can't imagine why someone would want those two settings to disagree, but that's how it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Example to figure QFE in flight or on the ground: Target elevation lets say is 1690ft, divide this by 3.28 Then take your total which is 515. Now divide 515 by 9.3 and that gives you 55.37 Lets say your QNH is 1012 like it is at Nellis Air Force Base so then you take 1012 - (minus) 55.37 and that will give you your QNE for your target which equals to: 956.6 QFE This is what you would then set on your left altimeter gauge. You can set this at home base as long as you know your target altitude which i look at the F10 map beforehand or you can do this in the air also but you still need to know your target Altitude to start with. I use my cell phone's calculator. OK so I'm going to bomb a target at Area51 in the group of buildings around the airport over there. The Elevation of most all items is 4470ft because it's mostly flat. So 4470 divide by 3.28 gives me 1362 divided by 9.3 gives me 146 so now take QNH of 1012 minus 146 gives me 866. This is what i set for my QFE and it's dead on for Area 51. Try it.... Go into Nellis and go ahead and set your QFE to 866 and take off. Go to Area 51 and select your High Drag Bombs and see for yourself how sweet it is. Bomb setting is set to NAV, and your bombing mode needs to be in PLAN. I use 10 to 15 for the spacing on your other dial next to the mode dial. You can leave the toggle switches in the "up" position. Of course this is for the AJS37 aircraft.
