As in, for some reason they can fit around 240 songs on a CD-based DDR game at the arcade (i.e. Extreme), yet they can only manage to fit 60-80 on a PS2 version. But, PS2 versions often do have better graphics/sound quality than AC mixes, and lots of extra content. They revived quite a bit on Extreme AC, but the Extreme CS kinda focused more on the new songs.
love the game, its the Masterpiece gold/silver or the DDR series really. All the most popular songs that werent on ps2 releases in one game really :) (Dunno how to explain witch doctor and we will rock you as they were on extreme but meh)
this complilation was created cos this is actually the included previous LICENSE SONGS from DDR EXTREME, and of course, the're NEW STEPS too! u shouldn't just ignore this kind of HOME version
Yep. It won't be till DDR X (I believe or was its Supernova) that we started to hear new announcer. though some of the old announcer clips were recycled into the newer DDR games.
well the reason is that they don't add crap modes to AC versions as they do to the US CS versions. what wasn't revived in Extreme was all the Licensed songs from 1st to 7th mix (Max 2) and for good reason too (they couldn't afford all those Royality Fees). So it was easier to revive all the KOs and KCs. the reason for focus was we're trying to play catch up on the Japanese games, remember we only had 3 PS and 2 PS2 games before Extreme
@frozenray0079 Indeed, and from what I remember the original version we were supposed to get was looking like that's what it was gonna be, an EXTREME-colored version of this game.... you don't wanna know what I hope happened to whoever thought *that* was a good interface... :(
the US version of DDR Extreme on PS2 straight pisses me off. I'm a fanatic...i expected an arcade perfect port. i much rather would've just had this version in america...even with the older songs. Which i love dearly :) 5.1.1. is my favorite song
5.1.1. was already in DDRMAX US and it coulda been worse with Extreme US, like just look at how much tha PAL regions got screwed over even worse with DDR compared to us Americans oof
Had to? I think it was just more profitable to do so, just like the reasoning behind why SEGA split up Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles and released them as separate games. (they were once one game).
Well if they didn't add the stupid eye toy mini games and Hands & Feet mode and Mission Mode (Maybe since many people liked the Mission Mode so I can't really complain about it), then we would have a near perfect port of Extreme (near perfect being that god awful theme).
