While Delonghi EC260BK is an ordinary espresso machine for at-home use, suitable for any beginner, cheaper European models (EC235.BK and EC230.BK) comes without panarello nozzle for a steam wand, which makes it difficult for beginner to froth the milk on it.
Moreover, De'Longhi Stilosa EC230.BK comes with unpressurized filter baskets, which makes it impossible to brew a good espresso shot without decent burr grinder. It's good, but very niche choice. Please don't buy it as a present or of you plan to use ground coffee from supermarket.
At the end I show how to disassemble this espresso makers for repair or for further upgrades. I also measured the Stilosa's stainless steel boiler capacity (volume) - it's 220ml, not bad!

Hello Dmitriy. I have recently purchased an EC 260 and I'm having an issue with the basket getting stuck in the head of the machine. It seems to be too tight when it connects and so the pin in the portafilter is not strong enough.

Ceramic burrs usually can't give fine enough grind level. Thus, SS burrs would be better

Hi. Which of these three machines is the best in your opinion? 1. Cheap gaggia like viva etc (basically rebranded saeco poemas) 2. Delonghi ec31 3. Delonghi ec230 from this review. 4. Ariete picasso I would like to try unpressurized filter when I buy one of these machines. I mostly drink milk coffees (latte and cappuccino) but sometimes when I want stronger drink I drink espresso.

I'm an idiot, I don't want Panarello and I don't want a pressurized basked since I have a decent grinder and I got the 260. It was on sale and I got it on impulse and now I have to mod it... wish I could trade for a 230...

Hi Dimitriy, i have this machine but recently the pressure from the water coming out of the head is less and water keeps dripping out a lot when after pulling a shot. any idea what is causing this?

@@KaranRajpal yes i did! the valve in the boiler was closed up deu to calc and sentiment of the water i am using. if you take it apart like in the video (> 4.36 min), and open up the boiler, (make sure its not hot and pressured) there is a small pipe/opening in the bottum of the boiler. in this pipe there is a small spring with a rubber droplet on top. when pressure is high enough the water presses down the droplet and spring which opens the exit for the water to run down into the piston where the coffee is. the problem was that the spring was not coming back up and therefor water was leaking. is you clean the boiler and spring, the problem should be fixed. mine is running as good as new. hope this makes sense, otherwise feel free to ask me any questions.

Because prepacked ground coffee usually has too coarse grind level. On the EC230 they install single wall baskets (not pressurized baskets) which require finer grinding. If you will find properly preground coffee (buy it at local coffee shop, for example), of course, you can use it.

@@jcrensht I am writing 6 months later ….I suggest you invest in a good grinder as this is just as important as a good espresso machine. I personally have a Breville Barista Express that has an integrated grinder in the machine and I love it. I bought the machine based on the reviews and 2 friends that bought and recommended the quality of the machine. I am a big fan !

На фотках 0:22 (тыц по циверкам время) ес230 самая маленькая, а две другие больше. Это не соблюден маштаб при редактировании или ес230 действительно меньше? Я кажется догадался, что схематическим размером определена рядность модели от младшей к старшей, но на всякий случай оставлю вопрос...мало ли)))
