Unfortunately with this community it seems that the devs are damned if they do damned if they don’t. I agree the chase music was cool. But after awhile it does sound like windshield wipers but I don’t mind it to much
completely agree. much more tension and much more faithful to the films. the current music feels like it was made for the queen skin, but since everyone complained about the ptb music they just made that one the default
The problem with new licensed chase music that people dont really like is that they're trying to go for sounds only the fans know and leave the others feeling like the chase music is bad because they don't know what its referencing. As someone who watched the OG Alien movie and played Alien: Isolation, I recognize those alarm sounds in the chase music as the alarms the ships in the franchise makes when theres an emergency, but other people might not know that.
@@Juan-GC I like the fan service and enjoy how much the chase music fits the Killer, so I do like it despite how repetitive it is. However I can definitely see what you mean considering this is the 3rd time in a row we got very repetitive and even annoying chase music.
i havent seen alien but the chase music was actually pretty good imo, when it's isolated like this it doesnt sound as great but it works well while focusing on the tail whip
I miss this PTB chase music tbh. This new one is cool and all but it sounds to "boss battley" like something you'd hear in a Resident Evil chapter. The PTB actually sounds scary or eerie or like it's actually from the movies.
@@YaoHey.Officiali would say the best one was the one that went live at first, it was the same but had more rythym to it to address the out of sink "alarm" sound
Wesker: makes you feel like you're in a boss fight Legion: makes you wanna stay in their terror radius for the whole game Alien: Makes you feel like you're actually in a horror game
Fuck everyone who complained. This is the xenomorph perfectly embodied in music format. If you don't like it don't fuck things up for the rest of us that can actually appreciate things
The reason they changed the alien, the skull merchant and the ghost face chase music it’s because if you played with headphones it caused a sensory overload with the infamous “Washing machine” music, it happened to me with the skull merchant and the ghost face stunning you for like 1 to 2 seconds, it doesn't sounds as bad but it happed constantly while chasing the survivors or being chased, making you loose precious seconds, yes they destroyed the alien music and they could have leaved something similarbut ins to ensure that ypu dont get stunned by the music.
I'm not saying the Live version is bad, but I definitely prefer this one because it has a horror element to it rather than another Resident Evil encounter.
Imo it sounds unique, and I like the touch of the Nostromo alarm in Layer 4, however, I think it's unrefined and sounds more like a rough draft in comparison to the live music. which is why I think people think it's better. they should definitely adjust and/or dial back on the alarm noise so it sounds less like a broken window wiper on someones car.
@@redschnee5850 Bubba needs a proper rework, and I do agree they need new music. Right now they both feel underdeveloped when it comes to how they feel to face, they don't feel as intimidating as they should, Bubba especially.
It was the same reason people hated Ghostie's old music. It sounds great in theory, but then you play the killer for an hour and have a headache because you hear the same exact couple notes on loop almost constantly as part of an important game mechanic. Scary as survivor, but tiring as killer.
Please, if you have a pc and access to the PTB, listen to the chase music in game. It isn’t made to be enjoyed as a song, but rather to make chases more intense, which I (personally) think it succeeds at greatly.
There is nothing intense about it, the only thing it does is making my head hurt while playing as xenomorph (remember that killer only hears the last part and you hear this shitty 1 second loop for 70% of the match)
@@darthcalculus6002 You can use the siren sound in your music without repeating it every half a second with an annoying metal slam sound. Lately all of the chase themes are loud repeating short 1-2 seconds loops, that not only make hearing footsteps and breathing impossible, but are also unpleasant to listen to. It's such a shame, since before Skull Merchant all of the chase tracks had longer loops and were absolute bangers (my favourite is Spirit and PH chase themes and the second one also has metalic sounds without being annoying). It feels like the composer forgot, that the killer player only hears the chase part, and i hope he will change this theme before full release. Also while my main problem is with the repeating metal slam sound, this window wiper doesn't even really sound like Nostromo or Sevastopol sirens.
Honestly BHVR should give us the option to choose which chase music we want, if we want both,(ptb/live), just one, or something else entirely different, do you guys remember demo's ptb and ghostie terror radius and old chase tracks? I feel like there should be a way we could change then in game, just a thought...
They kinda do let us tho… they change It because people don’t like the ptb version of the terror radius. When they do change it everyone switches up and instantly wants the old one back. We fail to realize that Michael has to confirm with the license owners how they feel first, so in the end we’re the ones causing this mess.
idk about y'all but this chase music is FIRE to me I like how it gradually gets more higher pitched (the wiper type sound btw) And being in CHASE with that thing while hearing that, gah dayum
Currently a lot of complaints about this on the DBD forum but I actually really like this. Not only is it reminiscent of Alien, it's also very effectively spooky and discomforting. I haven't played the PTB yet but I hope they wind up keeping this, it's one of the few killer themes that actually strikes me as effectively frightening.
Yeah but you know we're dealing with the dbd playerbase who has the average intelligence rivaling the one from an amoeba. Those Mfs think a chase music meant to stress you out and be unpleasant by design should somehow be a banger to vibe to. Fucking geniuses all around, I see !
i completely agree, i went into the PTB blind and this is by far one of the most fitting themes. this combined with the sound effects that play when alien is kicked out of runner mode makes for a terrifying first experience lol
Finally someone who understands! I too love the theme and I really hope they don't alter it too much in the live release for the chapter. First theme to actually make me uneasy in a while!
People will always complain about anything. To be honest I don't care I reject the DBD Hive Mind (No pun intended) I rather think for myself than have the community to decide my own thoughts for me. I can think on my own thank you very much. I am a Rebel who goes against any and all hive minds. People Should think for themselves for once than all have to agree at the same time just to hate for the sake of hating.
@@naginasridevi1720 I'm talking about the car window & monkey cymbal PTB, everyone uses the same generic argument for the live being worse because "it's a generic horror film song every killer can use" when A. that's wrong this song fits Xeno more than any other Killer B. Alien is literally a classic horror movie so the point is irrelevant C. even if the PTB is a remix of the alert theme from the movie, it still doesn't save it from being terrible
These people must have not seen the movie alien in the movie they didn’t have a similar theme like this trash the new one sounds like ur getting chased in the actual movie Watch the movies first don’t say things
petition to make this as first/second chase music while in chase exactly how michael has it, ptb version to exist and live version to exist too, based on different chases or if u are dead hook one of these chase musics to be heard
I wish DBD would take a cue from Haunting Ground and the original Fatal Frame where the chase music's pitch and tempo would ramp up or down depending on how close they are and if you're in their line of sight. Would make the repetitive chase theme vary at least a little bit
Haunting Ground...my favourite impossible chapter for dbd. Daniella would be a cool killer, she could inflict panic on the survivors and make them move erraticaly, like Fiona in the game.
@@somerandomguy9891 YES! The Panic Meter could be the thing that fills up around the Survivors' portraits. When it reaches full, they scream and the controls become _slightly_ inverted, making getting away more difficult. The Belli Castle map could have alchemy and/or synthesizing stations to create lavendar/sedatio to reduce Panic. On the flip side, Daniela's add-ons could summon Luminessants or baby Homunculi to cause Panic and make noise. It would be SO perfect!
@@somerandomguy9891Mine would be either ObsCure or Rule of Rose, both are a bit old but extremely good games with deep lore and interesting monsters that could work
I legit do not understand how people get headaches this badly from soundtracks, unless your audio is blasted to hell and back i dont think its that bad
Sounds like a mix of many things at the same time, almost like it would feel to have a panic attack. The noises of the ship, the alarms, all the more deafening as you are frantically expecting the creature to craw from anywhere.
I get why people want the chase themes in DBD to be catchy, orchestrated, drum-filled bangers, but I still try to see DBD as a horror game first and foremost. Themes like this that genuinely sound unsettling, scary, chaotic, or jarring over epic and fully orchestrated, to me, will always be the best ones.
Okay so… hear me out. There needs to be something where the devs keep these old chase themes and have it where we can choose which chase music we want for killers. One way is if they add a feature where we can select the chase music to only affect our games, so that way people can listen to what they want to listen to and not have it where everyone has to listen to it. Another way could be where the devs make a legendary skin/outfit that has a different chase theme, like how they do it with the lobby music. I’m not saying that the new xenomorph’s theme is bad, but I do prefer this theme over the new one. This song gets my adrenaline going, and the other one is too “slow paced” for my liking.
Finally, music that is good to listen and makes you feel like your in a horror game. I’m grateful for this chapter. Edit: I’m going to be real, if they just made the Ptb version have a longer cycle I think it would be good. I like the actual urgency and horror in it, the new one kinda just sounds like a legacy chase music but it’s okay.
People that complain about the PTB chase music being to loud or sounding like a washer don't understand that it's meant to sound like your being chased by a unknown Creature that's origins isn't known beside finding eggs that were on a ship which then gave birth to these amazing beasts known as the xenmorph through their respective stages of development of course. The new chase music sounds terrible it honestly does. It doesn't fit Alien whatsoever whenever i hear it it just annoys me because it sound's nothing like a theme like Alien should have. The PTB one sounds genuinely amazing and fits Alien well. It makes me feel like i'm in a horror game, the new one just makes me question as to why the devs still make these dumb changes. Now don't get me wrong the new chase music by itself is good. But it doesn't fit Alien is what i'm trying to say. This music fits Alien perfectly and those who complain about probably haven't seen jack shit when it comes to Alien
i remember watching the original alien movie when i was in school, i feel this captures the idea of it really well but again its been awhile since i saw it.
Layer 1-3 are fantastic. Layer 4 is just a washing machine cymbal monkey, but thats the only downside. I feel like some more bassy drums removing the squeaking would fix this hands down. Its a shame we lost 1-3 because 4 was mid in comparison
Layer 3 sounds pretty intimidating but the acual chase sounds like me cleaning my Window over and over. I hope they change the acual chase part, singularity had a similar problem and they changed it.
I genuinely wish they didn’t change the PTB music. A lot of people say that this chase music was annoying which I can agree with, but this chase music suited the Alien much more than the new one because it used the alarms on the Nostromo, that alarm giving such a huge sense of urgency when the Alien eventually chases you. The live music is more reminiscent of Aliens (the second film) which is a completely different type of movie compared to the first film because it has more action, not really horror like the first one which the Xenomorph in DBD is based on.
this theme sounded like you were stranded with an alien creature, in its territory with no where to hide. it was really intense and sounded like an ACTUAL horror theme but nah they had to change it because too many ppl complained about it being annoying? bhvr really missed this one
Honestly that's way too stupid, like come on, only problem was the alarm from the Nostradomo, maybe they could keep that one as detail when you were playing at that map, i mean, is weird at first but you get used to it, can't deny just removing that thing could be way better but that's the only thing they needed to do
I believe it's the players that play this game too casually. Everyone is saying that Alien is a solid killer and everything, but the chase music isn't that good
I like this chase more then live because Live chase isnt scary because it sound like boss fight you see in dark souls or Combat game...this chase music really gave off that sinster vibe of xenomorph
@@0mg_evandefinitely, the way the terror radius flows as it gets closer to u sounds more natural than the new one. it actually sounds like alien & not resident evil
Im so over BHVR scrapping entire themes because of maybe one annoying repeating sound. Doctor's theme is the one time (from what i can remember) where they actually just TWEAKED the theme instead of made a whole new one to deal with complaints. Rip this epic theme
I dont understand how people were and still are cool with chase music like Michael's (that being a short music loop taken from the movie) yet when they do this for xenomorph everyone loses their minds. Anything and everything with a beat will sound like a washing machine, doesnt make it bad. If anything you could argue the new chase music amplified the washing machine sound so I dont get it with these people.
