I’m very glad that they didn’t change it that much instead they made the creepier sounds louder which is great. This is one of the only washing machine esc chase themes that I actually really like.
Honestly even though I kinda had choice words for this theme's PTB, that LITTLE change just made it feel that much more cohesive. I love that sound so much so hearing it as the main focus instead of the secondary element makes the theme feel more complete to me.
@@DragonOnCoke7299I mean it vaguely was in the sense that it was similar to some of the other recent chase themes that were kinda mid but that doesn’t mean this one was bad at all. In fact I absolutely love this theme like I said before.
There's a very subtle change to the chase section where you don't hear the menu theme anymore. It was replaced with a kinda digital craziness. Makes the theme more intense even though it's subtle
@@Quarthelomewthe old theme didn’t only have the motif of the violin but also had a section that was ripped straight from his menu music, which you can hear right before the music loops
I agree to 100% Every time I hear it as survivor I get excited and terrified at the same time. To me it gives the Unknown a very omnipresent feel, which could literally be the case when playing against it
I just had a nightmare about the unknown He killed my dad and wore his skin I gave dad a big hug after i woke up Edit: By far, my favourite horror character of all time: What makes it great is the design, character as in their is none, the mystery and "lore"
@@Snooziac im an adult. body horror is the thing that scares me. plus i think its cool to be creeped out by the unknown becasue you know its doing its job well
I honestly like it. the whole dishwasher vibe was an adequate fit for a creepypasta killer, and they just made the chase part more frantic, instead of throwing it all out.
Whenever I hear the 16 meter and chase theme play out, I always think it sounds like a wooden chair is being dragged on something or scraping against something. Still one of my favourite themes though.
I interpret it as the unknown trying to mimic breathing. I know it is probably not the case, but I like seeing it this way, because it makes it way more creepier for me :)
The concept and theme of this killer are so good, I'm disappointed that they didn't give him a more interesting and creepy power. He just shoots a projectile and teleports, wasted opportunity for an analogue horror Killer. An ability that is more like the Doc's, something psychological, would have been perfect for him.
I mean, the fact that you have to look at him directly to get rid of the status effect is a great idea ; it gives you a counter while forcing survivors to observe the weird and creepy animations and designs of the Unknown. Sure it could have been better, but he's still a very creepy killer
He’s not an analog horror killer, he’s a digital horror killer. I hate seeing people just throwing the word analog out there without even knowing what it means
@@ottooctavius9552 no but if the community says they dislike something enough there's a good chance it'll get changed, either for better or worse like aliens chase music it fit xeno perfectly I will agree the actual chase portion needed a tune up but other than that it was great, but the community whined enough that it got changed into generic horror music. Tldr the community has gotten decent chase music changed into less fitting music before and I'm glad it didn't happen here just opinion though
@@callmegrandpoggers The old Alien chase music only need minor adjustments and it'll be perfect. The new Alien chase music can fit into any killer and it's kinda boring to listen to. I miss the siren sound so bad.
The weird growls/scraping noises for 16m reminds me of an old vid back in the early days of RU-vid, i think it was called "Scary last footage" or something like that. The "monster" made noises that sounded like cleaner, higher pitched versions of those noises EDIT: the vid is called "Scary last footage" by LH
They didn't change a lot wich is good, this is the only chase theme that I know of where parts of the killer theme are intergrated and I think it fits for the unknown
Idk why, but especially Layer 4 gives me PT vibes. That "downshift" sound specifically. Also Layer 1 could belong in Silent Hill 2. When I listen to this I have the feeling of breathing in infinitely (Layer 2 you hear it the clearest), if that makes sense. It fills me with existential dread. Overall a really really good theme, killer, lore, etc.
I've noticed this for awhile, just never said anything but I always get the sm64 underwater vibes, due to the sound of like swimming underwater, does anyone else notice this? 🤣
@@Helloeveryone768 In what world am I complaining? I can’t have an opinion??? I said I prefer the original music more… I never said I disliked the live version? Idiot
Me casually booking a doctors appointment while listening to the chase music until this question popped up: Have you SableMain attended an in-person consult at CampfireMedicalServices in the past 12 months?
genuinely my only issue i have with this theme is that they use the unknown's menu theme in the background of the chase and its really distracting hearing it, especially after idling as them in the lobby
If you listen closely you can hear parts of the unknowns menu theme playing in layer 3! Michael F April is a legend he seriously needs to work on other horror games soundtrack

That’s exactly the reason they didn’t add it. Half the reason why ppl hate Chucky is the fact you can’t easily see him over loops and because he can just straight up ignore some pallet loops.
@freezerounds wouldn't say complaining, twas more of a question. I just thought if they'd put skull merchant's alarm in pointless, then so should singularity's
@@Disney_Enthusiasts Wasn't talking to you but since you brought it up, I disagree that Singularity's was pointless. The repetitive stabbing alarm sound was really hard to listen to. PTB Xenomorph executed an alarm motif far better.
